I have been taking the this drug from the past 16 years. I started with Carbamazepine. When the drug Oxcarbamazepine was introduced, I was asked to replace Carbamazepine with Oxcarbamazepine. The dose has been increasing since then. When I started taking this dose, I took 200 mg per day. My medical condition remained stable for 25-30 days with the frequency of epileptic attack of 1 attack per month. After this duration, the frequency of attacks increased. When consulted the doctor, he increased the dose. This cycle kept on repeating itself till the dose increased to 1200 mg per day which is the maximum dose an average adult can take per day. After the dosage reached the maximum level, I opted for homeopathy. Before I suffer from epileptic attack, I get a strong feeling which I am not ab...

I was prescribed carbamazepine xr 200 mg tablet. I was looking on line to get more information on my new medicine and then I went to the product image and my pill is not on there so I am just curious and want to make sure my medicine is what it says it is. Again my pill is Carbamazepine and described coated, pink, round tablet w/ SZ 787. ## Yes, this tablet contains 200mgs of Carbamazepine an anticonvulsant that is also used as a mood stabilizer. Since this is a generic, it is made by many different companies and the product information and image you were viewing probably didn't list them all. I just started taking carbamazepine 200 mg. I was curious as to when this medicine reaches its full benefit? Also, will this medicine cause depression? Thank you ## Hi Dawn, According to the manufacturer, it has been stated that several weeks are often required in order for carbamazepine to reach its full effectiveness. However they also go on to note that improvements in symptoms may occur sooner in some patients. I would just recommend keeping an open line of communication with your doctor to discuss how things are going for you during the first few weeks of being on this medication. In certain situations it may take up to several weeks before you even notice enough changes in your symptoms to decide if this medication is really right for you. So I wouldn't worry if you don't ...

I have a teva pill, supposedly 50 mg tramadol - for my back. It has "teva" on one side and on the back of pill "I" and two dots and a line through it. Can you tell me what this is exactly? ## Hello Ashley, So I went to the Teva manufacturer's website to look up what a 50mg tramadol looks like, unfortunately it doesn't match what you described at all. On the other hand I was able to find a Carbamazepine 200 MG Oral Tablet that sort of matches what your talking about. I need to know about the pill teva 109 and how well it works compared to xanax or if it's even comparable to it? ## The pill imprint TEVA 109 is Carbamazepine 200 mg, used in the treatment of bipolar disorder, epilepsy, schizoaffective disorder, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, trigeminal neuralgia (and has other uses as well). It belongs to the drug class of dibenzazepine. ## Eddy is right, this is a generic for Tegretol and is mostly used in treating epilepsy and neuropathic pain. So it's quite different from Xanax (Alprazolam). The national drug code (click to see a picture) is 0093-0109. Hope this helps and good luck!
