Bupropion, sold under the brand names Wellbutrin and Zyban among others, is an atypical antidepressant primarily used to treat major depressive disorder and to support smoking cessation.[6][7] Bupropion is an effective antidepressant on its own, but it is also popular as an add-on medication in the cases of incomplete response to the first-line selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant.[7][8] Bupropion has seve...

Round Pill (small) imprinted with WPI3332. Supposedly Bupropion XL 300mg but it seems much smaller than it should be. ## I just received a prescription of Bupropion XL, and it looks totally different that what I've received for the same medication and strength in the past (I use Aetna RX by mail). In the past it has been a capsule, and now it is a tablet with the same lettering you describe WPI 3332. Very unusual for there to be such a dramatic change and nothing by way of explanation. I called pharmacy and was told that the pharmacy had started using a different manufacturer for the generic and that more than one manufacturer often manufactures a generic drug once the patent runs out. WATSON LAB is the manufacturer of Bupropion WP! 3332. I think it's always good to question thi...

I have been on bupropion SR 100mg tablets twice daily for several years and am pleased with the results. This week my pharmacy filled my 3 month rx with bupropion ER (from 2 different manufacturers, slight color variation) with no mention of the switch other than explaining the color difference. Can I continue to take the ER twice a day? Contact my Dr.? Question the pharmacist? I see from previous posts that the prescribed dosing is usually different for SR & ER. Thanks ## I am not sure where you read that, but there is no difference between the SR and ER, they both just designate it as being a time released formulation of the medication, so the dosage would remain the same. You may also see other abbreviations used for it, such as CR, CD, XR and etc. but they all mean the same thin...

I was taking bupropion MPI 3332, round white tablet(Generic Welbutrin 30xl), I changed pharmacies and recieved this white oblong caplet with M B9 printed on one side. I felt alot of anxity start to build over the next few days and the one cigarette I had finally worked down to(ultra light 72 [the teeny shot ones]), was now back up to half pack or more and full on regular light 100's! I thought nothing of it other than a breif passing moment while in the pharmacy and that was that. Well now hindsight 20/20 I think these are crap and switch backed to my old pharmacy and doing much better. ## Hi T Beau, Sorry to hear about your experience with that other generic you switched over to. From what I understand, there could've been a lot less of the actual active ingredients in that par...

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and headache. You can read more here: ## I can't find a listing for a tablet with that marking, Who. the most recent refill of bupropion a 101 has been leaving my digestive tract undissolved. my food is digesting as usual. what's the deal? ## Hello, Bobble! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as being a 150mg Budeprion XL tablet, which is most commonly used to treat depression and as a smoking cessation aid. That said, that is just the shell of the pill that's being expelled. That is normal with time released medications. But you are getting the full dose, just as prescribed. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I just started taking this medication.....how long will the side effects last ## Bupropion, the active ingredient in Wellbutrin is an antidepressant that is also used for smoking cessation. The side effects should peak out around 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your body, then they should start to wear off. The can include: nausea, drowsiness, weight gain and dizziness. Learn more: Are there any comments or questions?

I would like to slowly begin to stop taking the Bupropion, what is the best way to do that? I take 150 mg 1x daily ## You're on the time released formulation, so you can just cut or divide the pills, since that may cause you to get too much of the medication at once. Learn more Bupropion details here. Have you consulted your doctor? They may be able to prescribe a lower dose to enable you to taper off of it to minimize the rebound effects.

What other drug would be very close to the Bupropion to substitute. My doc.told me to cut dosage in half and see if muscle pain lessens. If not then we are going to see what would work for me.On 150 it was great and helped me feel normal in years. So that is why I hope we can see how half works.Pain is still 24/7 but does respond to alleve and is about 5 out of 10 now.Possible it has not reached efficafy point at 4 weeks maybe? Thanks Thanks ## Hello, Juan! How are you? Are you using it to treat depression? There are many other options available that you can try, there are SSRIs, SARIs, SNRIs, MAOIs and tricyclics. You may want to talk to your doctor about trying an SARI, since they can also sometimes help with nerve pain, so they may prevent more issues than they cause for you.

My dr prescribes 3 a day and my insurance will only pay for 2 a day. I cannot afford to pay for the rest of the medication ## Hello, Patsy! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. What dosage and formulation has been prescribed? There are various doses available, as well as time released formulations, so your doctor may be able to switch you to one of those, which may be covered by your insurance. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, nervousness and insomnia.

I have just started taking mylan bupropion and ever since I started I have been getting bruises all over my arms and legs. I've tried looking up side effects but nothing about bruising. My arm became very tender to touch then later bruised and the pain is getting worse. I also have another bruise with purple/blue dots around it. Is this something I should get looked at? ## Yes, Kiki! Please have this checked out by your doctor, as soon as possible. That may be the sign of a possibly serious side effect or reaction to this medication. How are you doing, now? Has it gotten any worse?

Hello I was just prescribed 100 mg of bupropion sr twice a day. It's a blue pill that says E410. I was wondering if this pill causes weight gain? ## Hi Ali, How are you? Contrary to what you might be experiencing, the drug monograph for Bupropion only lists "weight loss" as a general side effect, and nothing to do with weight gain in that regard. However digging a little deeper I did notice other individuals post their concerns about having problems with gaining extra weight while they were taking Bupropion. With that said, part of me does wonder if taking this medication may have resulted in certain changes in behavioral/emotional patterns when it comes to eating more or less food throughout the day. The ironic part is that it also lists "loss of appetite" as a pote...

Does anyone else have Accord for the manufacturer? And do your pills smell like sulfur/rotten eggs? ## Yes! I just got my 150mg XL refill. the mfr is accord healthcare and they smell like rotten eggs. I'm not taking them. Going to try to get brand name. I didn't have this problem when I took 75mg twice a day. ## Some medications naturally have a smell due to the specific chemicals involved in their ingredients. You don't always smell it, however, because some manufacturers coat their pills to hide the odor. The FDA warns that Bupropion may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and dry mouth. Ref: Bupropion Information Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking bupropion XL 150 mg once a day now for 6 days now and as the day go on I have a strange feeling in my body kind of like some anxiety by the evening!! I also take 40mg of Fluoxetine daily. I've been taking 20 mg of the fluoxetine for 25 years with no side effects. But this feeling I get from the bupropion is not good. My Dr added it because the depression started coming back!! I also have dry mouth and a faint headache. Will these symptoms go away? ## Hello, Maud! How are you? Yes, these symptoms may go away, after a month or so, once your body gets used to the medication. In the meantime, you may want to talk to your doctor about splitting your dose of Fluoxetine, taking half in the morning and half in the evening, that may help. Is there anything else I can hel...

i have bupropion from 2 diff companies both 150 mg, one labeled ER the other labeled SA. The ER is white, the SA looks brown. Any significant difference? ## Hello, Doc! How are you? No, those are both just different abbreviations that designate it as being a controlled released formulation of the medication. The SA stands for sustained action and the ER stands for extended release. The FDA classifies this medication as an antidepressant and smoking cessation aid. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for the info, I guess smokers and depressed people differ in whether they need to be sustained or just extended ;-) ## LOL! Very welcome! I'm happy to help.

Is substituted for Wellbutrin XL 300 mg tablets. Have yet to see a pic of the one I am taking. Is there someplace I have not looked? ## Wally ,I don't have a pic to post for you, but I can tell you that it is a white, oblong tablet with the code printed on it in black. NDC: 00378-2009 Do you have some reason to doubt that you've really received Bupropion? To the original poster, what are the markings on the tablet in question? This information would help with being able to answer your question. However, as to the active ingredient, that is Bupropion.

I've been on on bupropion xl 150 mg for almost 1 year. During this time my depression has gotten worse. I attributed the decline in my mood and inability to cope to things happening in my life. Now I'm wondering if this generic form is the problem. Anyone else having these problems? ## There is also a chance that it may just not be the right medication for you to take. Not all of them work for everyone that tries them and some people become resistant to some fairly fast. Have you talked to your doctor about? You may need to try a different medication.
