OK guys, gals, ladies, and, gentlemen. I have been taking Flomax, starting in 1996, or since it's release, and at that time, depended on samples from my primary care doctor, because, at that time flomax was 100$ for 30 capsules. Then, when my insurance started paying, the generic Tamsulosin was released, and to date I have remained on this medication for bph, and prior to 1996 Hytrin was prescribed, which also worked for me. For 22 years I have had to take something for bph and I'm now 60 yrs old. OK, I said all that to say on this. For 20 yrs I've taken FLOMAX 0.4 MG Capsules, and never had any side effects, but on 1 or 2 occasions, I ran out and was off for maybe a week before I could not urinate, and had immense pain trying, and desperately was ready to rob a pharmacy to ...

He advised for Urimax .4 mg tablet. He is feeling well and have no peoblem since one week. What should be next step to be taken now. His age is 75 years. ## @OPSarwal, Are you saying that you continue to suffer from a frequency and urgency to urinate even after taking the urimax (Tamsulosin) medication? If so, it would be best to contact your doctor so he can prescribe you something different. @Kailash, I'm glad to hear that the urimax is working for your father and that he is feeling better. It sounds like your father can continue taking this medication as long as his doctor allows. You shouldn...

My wife has been on Letairis for just 2-days and she is already vomiting. What should she take to control the vomiting. I would appreciate any suggestions. We will call our physician on Monday. ## Hello, Jimbo! How is your wife doing? I'm sorry about the problem she's having. However, with BPH, she shouldn't take anything, without her doctor's approval. Many things could interact dangerously, or aggravate her condition. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Letairis as possibly including nausea, edema, low red blood cell levels, sinusitis and hot flashes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on Cialis daily 5mg mainly for BPH for about two (2) months and it has definitely helped. I have also enjoyed the added bonus of assisting me with ED. The past few weeks, the ED benefits seem to have lessened. A bit of backstory: I am 69 and have only one testicle, one removed five (5) years ago due to severe prostate infection which "ate through" part of the testicle and causing severe, chronic pain. As a result of this, I have been getting ten (10) of the TESTOPEL pellets inserted in my backside every three (3) months. I LITERALLY am a different man as the time approaches for the implantation to be done i.e., much-reduced energy, depression, libido and general mood. Has anyone had experience where the daily 5mg Cialis is not as effective after a period of time. I w...

My husband's age is 69. He is taking Amlodipine Besylate 5mg. He has just been prescribed Cialis and Flomax 0.4mg. for ED and BPH. Is there any "current" research showing a risk for lowering blood pressure to a dangerous low when taking all 3 meds conurrently? I have read that the FDA approved Cialis for urinary symptoms of prostate enlargement in 2011. His urinary problem is not severe...why could he not use Cialis to treat both ED & BPH and drop the Flomax? Also he plans to have cataract surgery and I have read that IFIS is caused by alpha blockers & can complicate surgery even months after stopping use of Flomax. ( He has not filled the RX for Cialis nor Flomax yet). Thank you for your time.

I take 5mg Cialis for BPH and erectile dysfunction, and it is working well. My Health care is going make me change to generic Tadalafil. Will it work as well? ## Theoretically the generic SHOULD work as well as the brand if the amount of active ingredient is the same. The inactive ingredients (fillers) will vary by manufacturer. There have been anecdotal reports in other threads here of people saying that being switched from one manufacturer to another makes a difference, but that's usually in reference to other medications, not Tadalafil. You should notice relatively soon after making the switch. One thing to note is that the FDA states "Any generic medicine modeled after a brand-name medicine must perform the same in the body as the brand-name medicine. This standard applies t...

besides flomax & hytrin and avodart what is there to treat BPH? ## I have BPH. I tried Avodart and found it frustrating: it was very effective in removing symptoms of BPH fast, but unable to move beyond turgid for intercourse; if climax occurred , it felt like someone strangled me down there, ie: the gun fired but no bullets. I was switched to Cialis 5mg: just as effective on BPH but slower to have an effect. Took 4 months for effects of Avodart to wear off. Gun has bullets. But Cialis also can have side effects in some people. ## You can learn more here about your BPH treatment options. As always, you should try the medication, or treatment approach that your doctor advises to achieve the best possible outcome for you. Are you on any other medications?

Anyone know of an effective OTC I can use in place of 10mg nightly I've been taking for BPH? I've tried Beta Sitosterol and Saw Palmetto with no relief. ## Hello, Ray! How are you? Sorry that you've lost your coverage. But no, I am not aware of anything that's as effective. My suggestion would be to talk to your pharmacy and see what discount programs they participate in. Most of them are free and they can really provide significant savings on many medications. Does anyone else have any ideas?

blood pressureB ## Any side effects noted for those already taking Kurzyme supplement from Swiss Labs? Spouse has chf, hbp, bph, gout, and taking meds for all. ## Since Kurzyme is an over the counter supplement, and not a prescription drug, this, unfortunately, means it has not been tested for use with other prescription medications or medical conditions. According to the ingredients list, it contains Protease, Bromelain and Papain, however, as I said, supplements are not studied and tested like prescription drugs. They are touted to do a lot of things, but it's very hard to be certain. In this case, having no idea what other medications your husband is on and how this may react with any of them, or how it may affect his medical conditions, I have to strongly urge you to consult his...
