When we tested my blood pressure it was through the roof and my heart rate was 111. I am using Bilocor for 6 months now and picked op 10kg. I am positive it is because of the Bilocor. Is there a replacement. I am using Cozaar as well. ## I am taking bilocor for 8 years and I am putting on weight is it caused by the tablets my dosage is 5mgp ## Bilocor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, and yes, it has been known to cause weight gain as a side effect, along with nausea, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. There are other medications you can try, in both this and other medication classes. Have you discussed the problem with your doctor? They are the ones who would be best able to assist you in making a switch.

I don't have high blood pressure but had a fast heart beat (165). I was given bilocor. Is this right? My blood pressure was on the low side. ## Yes, it can help lower your heart rate, according to the NIH. Its other typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Are you on any other medications? How low is your blood pressure?

Have been taking bilocor for 3/4 years, have developed a scalp condition - pityriasis amantacea which my dermatologist can be a rare side effect of bilocor. Very distressing as it causes scales on the scalp that come away with hair so can cause patches of baldness. Can this be from the bilocor? ## I have a pacemaker and use Bilocor 5 on a regular basis. Unfortunately, the Bilocor has rendered me totally impotent. Are there any alternatives without this side-effect? ## I take bilocor daily, but started having a runny nose and coughing from the approximate time of commencing with bilocor. I also take aspavor and ecotrin daily. I am 74 years of age and in good health. Can bilocor cause coughing? ## Could Bilocor affect one's memory? Since starting Bilocor my memory has suffered. Need to know all of the ingredients, active and inactive/other, of Adco-Bisocor please, as I am allergic to lactose, citric acid, etc. ## Sorry, I am new to this forum and do not know the ropes yet. This is not a reply, I am only trying to be more specific. As I use quite a few different chronic medications and am allergic to some ingredients, I need to know as much as possible about them. As my dr could not get hold of the regular CiplaZar 100 I usually take, he had to substitute it with Bilocor. As they both are generics, the inactive ingredients may differ and I was hoping that Bilocor does not contain the accursed citric acid and lactose which seem to be in more or less everything I have to take. Taking ten different chronic medications, the effect of all allergens combined is devas...

I am 47 years old and have been taking blood pressure medication for five years - i think it is congenital. Was taking indapamide combined with bilocor and had pretty awful 'flutters' which frighted me. Doc changed meds to bilocor and Diolo - body did not like Diolo whatsoever and so changed it after 6 days. Now taking Bilocor and Perin dopril 2. One of the side effects i notice with the Diolo was rapid weight gain around the waist and a bloated face. The face side is now reducing but not gone completely back to normal and the weight around the waist is still huge!! I have only been on Perindopril now for 3 days and am asking, do you think this weight gain will subside in time? Definitely not normal. Am feeling much better on the perindopril compared to the diolo, although am st...

I am 47, weigh 70kg, am type 2 diabetic and have been taking Galvus Met 1000mg for my diabetic condition along with Bilocor 5mg & Co Exforge 5mg/160mg/12.5mg for the past 4 years. However, my blood pressure does not want to come down. My average BP is 180/90. What can be the cause? My medication? ## It is most likely that it is due to the diabetes, and not the medications. They usually go hand in hand, according to NIH reports. Do you watch your diet to make sure that you don't take in a lot of sodium and fat? Ar you on any other medications? How much exercise do you get?

Im on co-diovan 160 and bilocor 5mg twice a day + trepelene 25mg. My docter prescribed demetrin 10mg twice a day. I want to know if it is safe to use all these medications together. ## I haven't found any interaction information on Demetrin (Prazepam), but as far as the others go, there are potentially unsafe interactions found between all of your medications. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: The following applies to: Trepiline (amitriptyline) and Co-diovan (valsartan + hydrochlorothiazide)… "Hydrochlorothiazide and amitriptyline may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. These side effects are most likely to be seen ...

Can I use cefraxone and doxycline while I am on zopax0,5,bilocor5 and micardis40/125mg ## Hello, Roselyn! How are you? Yes, it your doctor has prescribed them, you should take them as instructed. It would be far more dangerous to let an infection continue untreated. The FDA lists the typical side effects of these antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was diagnosed with high Cholesterol and put on Aspavor. I believe that it is causing side effects such as high uric acid, fatigue and joint pains. I decided to stop taking the medication and try nutrition and healthy food in stead however I was told this could be dangerous and stopping Aspavor may cause heart attack. Is this true and how can I safely stop the medication. ## Aspavor contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin and stopping it abruptly might cause some rebound effects, such as your cholesterol going back up suddenly to very high levels, which is what may cause a heart attack. Learn more Aspavor details here. Thus, it would be best to talk to your doctor, before taking any action, to be as safe as possible. Are there any other questions? ## I am currently on Bilocor 5 ,Am...

I have a son who was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy and one of the drugs he was prescribed is bilocor 2.5mg. The doctor says to reduce the heart rate and to lessen the work that the heart has to do. Does it make sense? He has a vomit feeling in the mornings. Could it be a side effect of this drug? ## Yes, that medication is one that is normally prescribed to treat such a condition and yes, that is also a normal side effect, according to the NIH. He may also experience headache, dizziness, and increased urination. Is he on any other medications? Has he experienced any other symptoms?
