Narcotics can cause CNS depression, but the real question is how bad is your COPD? That's a very low dose of both medications. Though they all carry the risk of being habit forming and can cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and drowsiness.

I have COPD and my doctor gave me Tylenol 3 and they don't work. I've been on them for 5 months and they don't work. ## Codeine is actually a very mild opiate, so it doesn't help everyone that takes it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you informed your doctor of the problem? You may need to try something stronger.

My father has c.o.p.d and we read on the internet the it could be harmful to his is this true? ## The tablet with the 3604 V marking contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 5mgs of Hydrocodone, the active ingredients in Vicodin, it is a narcotic pain reliever. And the reason it is usually warned about, for people with COPD, is due to the fact that narcotics can cause depression of the central nervous system, which can cause slower heart rate, slower breathing rate and lowered blood pressure. I just moved to Daytona Beach/Port Orange FL and need to find a reputable doctor who can work with my doctor to make sure I get the medication I have been taking for over 20 years. I suffer from severe, chronic pain due to Fibromyalgia, DDD, chronic migraines, sciatica, COPD, neck and ankle injury and rheumatoid arthritis without my medication I cannot function. I do NOT want to end up at a pill mill as I take my medication and condition very seriously. My doctor will refer me to the right doctor but cannot tell me which one to choose. I take Oxycontin CL and Dilaudid along with other medication I have no problems getting filled. I have a narcotic contract with my current doctor and want to stay on the same meds but need a Florida doctor to write them, working alongside my doctor. I do ...

my mother is currently taking opana IR 10mg and i was wondering if this drug is dangerous for people who have COPD & emphazemia cause i notice that she has a harder time breathing after she takes it. ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, it is a narcotic, so it can cause depression of the central nervous system, as well as respiratory depression, so that is what may be causing her problem. Have she consulted her doctor about this? These side effects are common to all narcotics and she may need a lower dosage or to try a difference medication.

can oxycod/acetamino 10-325 cause death if used improperly. I started taking this for extreme pain to my lungs, and massive headaches caused by stage 5 COPD. ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? Any medication has the potential to cause a fatal overdose if used improperly. This contains a narcotic, so the risks for it are slightly higher than for something more innocuous like an antibiotic, but they all do carry some risk. Just be careful to only take it according to your doctor's instructions and don't mix it with alcohol. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you have any other questions or concerns?

My dad had a surgery done on his shoulder and they prescribed her Opana IR 20mg. He had late stage COPD and he wasn't taking any narcotic pain medication prior the surgery. I take Opana myself and it a powerful medication. I know these type of medicines can affect your breathing at high doses. I know Opana is two times stronger the oxycodone. So it is like taking 40 mg of oxycodone. I don't know why they didn't give him like hydrocodone or oxycodone instead at a lower dose. It would been different if he was taking these class of medication where he would been use to them in his system. He was very doped up when he can home that day he was never fully awake after leaving the hospital my mom gave him the medicine about 4 hours after getting home. He fell to sleep in his favori...

How are you? There is no measurable amount that would affect your blood pressure. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I had some similar concerns, after suffering congestive heart failure several years ago, but all averrable information, as well as my cardiologist, stated that there isn't enough to worry about. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My apologies, I meant available information. I have no idea why or how autocorrect ch...

Need to know if it's safe to take a soma and a percocet 10mgs together? ## Many people who take opiates find that Soma also potentiates the effect. Is it safe, safe from what? ## Hello, Kitty! How are you? As long as your doctor approves and has prescribed them both. Muscle relaxants are often given with an opiate analgesic to help get better control of pain. However, they can both cause depression of the central nervous system, which could be dangerous, if you're not opiate tolerant or have a condition that affects your breathing, such as COPD, or you heart rate, like hypotension or bradycardia. The FDA classifies Percocet as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constip...
