I have severe back and hip pain, my right hip has dropped down almost a half inch causing my back bone to off center. I have tried multiple forms of treatment with no success. I have taken a variety of muscle relaxers, and none of them have worked. I am currently taking 20 mg of baclofen 3 times a day. It's this something I can increase in dosage, or is there a stronger muscle relaxer? I really NEED to relieve the tension in my hip. ## Hello, Megan! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. You shouldn't take more of the Baclofen than your doctor has prescribed. Taking to much could cause dangerous depression of the central nervous system, which could be fatal, since it can lower heart rate and breath rate. Which other ones have you tried? Soma, which contains the...

A muscle relaxant is a drug which affects skeletal muscle function and decreases the muscle tone. It may be used to alleviate symptoms such as muscle spasms, pain, and hyperreflexia. The term "muscle relaxant" is used to refer to two major therapeutic groups: neuromuscular blockers and spasmolytics. Neuromuscular blockers act by interfering with transmission at the neuromuscular end plate and have no central nervous system (CNS) activity. They are often used during surgical procedures and in ...

small round orange pill.. has number A301 ## This tablet contains 10mgs of Cyclobenzaprine, a generic for Flexeril. This, however, is NOT the strongest muscle relaxant available, Soma or Skelaxin are both much stronger, this one is fairly mild. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. You can read more on this medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## My insurance refuses to copay for Soma, when I asked my De about it he said that a would have a difficult tile finding a Dr who would write a script for Soma as they found that it was addicting.

Hi, I started taking Belviq but I have two slipped discs that cause severe muscle spasms and pain. I usually take a flexeril and it helps. I don't see it anywhere but so many drug interactions I'm scared to take it. ## There is nothing in the label to suggest that it should be a problem. You might take the first flexeril overnight or over the weekend if you are worried and can judge any issues while at home. ## Hello, Sxmack! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. can you take muscle relaxer with hydrocodone and ibuprofen? ## Only as presscribed by your dr. ## @dawn, It would probably depend on which specific drug you're referring to. But based on my own research, there are drug interactions between the prescription muscle relaxer known as Tizanidine and Hydrocodone. Apparently if you take them together it can potentiate certain side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness, and impaired cognitive abilities. However, with proper dosing and administration your doctor may be able to help you decrease these risks. I hope this helps answer your question! ## Hydrocodone and an actual muscle relaxer will potentiate each other. But, as Davis said with proper dosing instructions, the effects should be minimized.

My doctor just started me on a round of steroids. She said not to take my naproxin with it. Forgot to ask if I can take my flexerol with it. Can I do that ? ## Hello, Carol! How are you? Yes, that should be fine, as long as your doctor approves. The reason she told you to skip the Naproxen is because it and Prednisone both increased the toxicity of each other, which could result in overdose issues. The FDA lists the typical side effects for Prednisone as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, fluid retention and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is valuim used as a muscle relaxer? I have tryed many muscle relaxers I also have panic disorder but was taken off Klonopin abruptly could valium be used to relax muscles and relieve the anxiety as well? ## Valium is used as a muscle relaxer, to prevent seizures, the treatment of anxiety and other issues. Talk to your psychistrist about takiing the valium for anxiety and your regular dr about taking it for the muscle spasms. I seriously doubt that both drs will give you a prescription for valium. If they can consult with each other about your case, they may agree that valium is best for the treatment of both of your issues and hopefully they can decide which one of them will prescribe it. ## Thank you for agreeing that valuim is used for treatment for muscle spasms. ## Cindy, the Physic...

Can I take tizanidine and naproxen at the same time? It's my muscle relaxer and the naproxen is for my menstrual cramps. ## I didn't find any interactions listed, but it is always best to double check to be safe. However, I can tell you that they are often prescribed together to treat pain, and muscle spasms. The FDA warns that you may experience more severe side effects than usual, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, and stomach upset. The Naproxen can also cause an increased risk of bleeding. Are these the only medications you take?
