What If I Take Prednisone 50mg For Only 5 Days

Hey, I am having a horrible bout of tonsillitis with bad ear and throat pain. My doctor initially prescribed amoxicillin 3 days ago but pain still persisted, I went back today and got 50mg prednisone daily for 5 days plus a 10 day course of cephalexin. Is 50mg too much over a 5 day period. With previous bouts I was prescribed 10 mg twice daily for 2-4 days with no side effects. I took my first dose after filling the prescription at around 2 PM and am feeling mild discomfort in my muscles and can't seem to sleep. Is this dose to heavy? The pain in ear and throat have subsided which is great but worried about prednisone side effects. I was recently put on a high dosage (50mg) of Prednisone a day. I was to stay on this dosage for three days, then cut it in half for three days, and then repeat until I was, by the fifteenth day, completely off the medication. Unfortunately, when my doctor prescribed me Prednisone, she momentarily forgot about psych history. On the fifth day of me taking Prednisone, I had a psychosis episode, and came to the realisation that my chaotic moods, and the sudden extreme bouts of depression and lack of concentration, had been a side effect of the medication. I was prescribed prednisone 50mg for 5 days on 01/24/2016. I took it for the two first days and the result was insomnia. Spent 48 hours straight awake. Couldn't sleep not even a couple of hours. Third day I didn't take it and called the doctor. They said I should take it the following morning and continue every morning until finish it. They didn't help me with the fact that I wouldn't be able to sleep again. Today is jan 27th I still have 3 more pills to take. I was started on a very high level course of Prednisone of 12 50mg pills twice a day for three days and then it would be gradually decreased throughout the week. Was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Im terrified that this is WAY too much. Can anybody help me with this> ## That is the normal way that these steroid medications are prescribed, you start on a rather high dosage, then it is slowly decreased. Hello my name is diane. Iam on 30mg of methedone liquid once a day for addiction treatment. Today a doctor at emerg put me on 50mg of prednizone for 5 days for a bad allergic reaction that happened three days ago but i am unaware of what caused it. Could anyone please tell me if there will be any drug interactions with this? My doctor has prescribed prednisone 10mg 4 times a day I just started taking it a few days ago my optic nerve is inflammed causing my vision in my right eye to be blurred and foggy.i seen a nuero opthsmologist at university of michigan medical center and he dida ton of tests he knew what was wrong but could not find what was causing i guess what i want to know is has anyone had this condition and has prednisone worked? ## I was prescribed this medication (50mg) 1pill a day for 3 days and after 8 days I find my vision becoming blury once in a while and the depression such as mood swings have been increasing.
