Hi, I have just taken another Losartan 100mg tablet that lowers blood pressure...No no no, down the hatch it has gone...Now I am worried although trying best not worry...The reason why I had accidently took the table was because having picked up the wrong box, it should have been an Atorvastatin 20mg tablet...This is the first time I have accidently done this.... I do feel really stupid for having not read the packet carefully ## Have to take a DMV test, is it ok to double up on my medication, which would be 200 mg of losartan & 10 mg of Norvasc at the same time ## Hi Luke, Sorry to hear about the mishap with double dosing. What if I took 50mg of losartan and 2 hours later accidentally took it again? What can happen? ## Hi Daisy, Sorry to hear about the mishap. In my opinion I think it would be best to notify your prescribing doctor (or poison control) of what happened so that they may be able to assist you in the event of adverse reactions, extreme hypotension, etc. If this happened to me I would also probably be monitoring my blood pressure levels frequently over the next couple days to get a better idea of how my body is responding. How are you feeling? ## I accidentally took 250 mg tablets of losartan 50mg. Will I be okay? ## Can you take two Losartan 50 mg tablets at the same time or should you take it in the morning and then at night? ## I took 50 mg losartan at 11:30 am then accidentally took anothe...

I took 100mg Losartan Potassium at 3pm but I think I may have taken one at 3 am also. I work shift work and I don't remember taking the 3 am dose. Will I have a problem taking a dose 12 hours apart? ## Hi Craig, From what I've researched, standard adult dosing for Losartan is considered to be anywhere from 25mg-100mg taken daily in one or two divided doses. However, the prescribing packet doesn't go on to mention any specific time intervals. Having said that, it seems to me like you're supposed to wait a full 24 hours after your last 100mg dose before taking anymore... So if you aren't sure about the time frame in which you took your last dose then I can't say there's a right or wrong answer... You may just have to be your own best judge through self monitori...

I took 25 mg of losartan at 5:00 AM and accidentally took one at 9:00 PM. Is that harmful? ## Sorry to hear about the mishap LeeAnn... I see that you posted this back on March 31st, so it's been a few weeks now. Just wondering how you are feeling? Fortunately, Losartan's half-life is only about 2 hours, and the amount of time in between the two doses was far away enough that I probably would've imagined everything would turn out fine in the long run once it left your system; albeit might cause some unwanted side effects in the moment...

It's the first time I've done this. The doctor's office said to just watch for side effects. Should I be concerned? ## Generally, taking a double dose just once isn't considered harmful, but you may experience more side effects than usual, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and shallow breathing. If any of them become severe, you should seek emergency medical attention. How are you feeling? Did you experience any problems?

Question: what would happen if you accidentally took two doses of Hydrochlorothiazide Losartan 100/2mg once a day in a 12 hour period of time? I thought I forgot to take it today! First time doing this and now know the key of having a SMTW... pill box! ## Hello, Jay! How are you? Not likely anything serious, but you should check with your doctor to be sure. You may need to take in some more fluids, since you may experience dehydration and lower than normal blood pressure from the accidental doubling up. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I take Losartan Potassium 25mg in the morning and Aten lol 25mg before bed. I took my losartan around 11:30am. Getting ready for bed, I accidentally took the losartan again instead of the atenolol. (11:02 pm) Should I be concerned? I am not goin...

Hi. I took one dose of Losartan 100 mg & Amlodipine 5 mg at 8am & again the same dose I took by mistake at 8 pm. Will I be ok? ## In most cases, an occasional extra dose of this class of medications isn't really harmful, though it is best to double check with your doctor, or pharmacist. The FDA warns that the increased dosage could cause you to experience more severe side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects? ## Hi. I take 10mg of amlodipine in the morning at 8am and i've just taken another one by mistake at 9pm. Should I be worried that i've taken 2 in one day? ## Took 5mg amlodipine in the am and couldn't remember if I had taken it so I took 10mg at 11, abou...

My grandmother'so Dr. told her to double up on her blood pressure medication. She is already taking Losartan 100mg...this would mean that she would take 200mg at one time. Is that safe? ## Hi Jess19, My opinion is that if her doctor instructed her to do so then odds are it probably is safe, since he/she has likely made this decision based off your grandma's medical records and an in-person evaluation of the condition (I would hope). Furthermore, 200mgs a day is reportedly the maximum recommended dose of Losartan Potassium - So your grandma's dosage still falls within FDA guidelines. As to how she might respond or react to such a dosage, only time will tell, as everyone is affected differently by these medications. However, it may be a good idea to closely monitor her blood p...

I do believe I may have taken 2 of all my medications tonight by accident: Atenolol 50mg, Losartan 25 mg, Eszopiclone 3mg, Esomeprazole 40mg. Will I be alright? ## The main concern here is the Ezopiclone, since taking a double dose could result in excessive sedation and depression of the cental nervous system, according to FDA reports. How are you doing, now? Did you experience any adverse effects?

I am have been taking 50 mg of Losartan (Teva green tab) once a day (at night) along w/ my Alprozalam. I take .25 mg w/my Losarton at night before bed. Which has been fine. (I take my other doses of Alprozalam during the day @ different times.) I take the Losarton due, to high blood pressure. I started out w/ my blood pressure 188 over 103. I went to the doctor yesterday and it is now at 160 over 90. Still high even w/changes in diet. But he doubled it to 100 mg same company, Teva. I have some side affects I am just getting used to and have been thru many other meds for this with many painful and scary side affects. My problem is i am scared to take my Alprozalam w/this high of a dose w/out knowing the affects and don't want to not sleep due to my body being used to it and i am also...

I take lisinopril once a day at 9am. By mistake, I took it last night at about 1 am. Should I miss taking it for the rest of the day? ## What dosage do you take? While it is always best to double check with your doctor, the FDA usually instructs you to skip the next dose, then just resume your normal dosing schedule. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. ## I take losartan 50mg at noon, I notice it takes at least 6 hrs. before I get a good reading. If I cut the tablet in half and took both halves, would it maybe kick in a bit faster. Seems to have a coating on the pill. ## I'm taking lisinopril 10mg during the day and my readings are perfect, but after 4 or 5 my blood pressure goes up to 150/90 or...

I think I took 2 losartan 40 mg pills and 4 milligrams of alprazolam at the same time. I was in a hurry... What might I expect? ## While it is always best to check with a medical professional, the FDA warns that you may experience more severe side effects than usual, such as nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness. Your blood pressure may also drop lower than normal due to the double dose of Losartan. How are you feeling? Did you experience any adverse effects? ## If I took a whole bunch of Blood Pressure Medicine and 4 mgs of Xanax I might not want to go out or get behind an automobile, especially while being in a hurry? ## Never get behind the wheel when unsure because prescription medication is almost worse than illegal drugs. Sometimes you dont realize youre impaired (this is from experie...

Does Losartan hctz tab 100-25 mg equal Diovan HCT 320-12.5 tab. I am concerned about the difference in milligrams. I recently started the Losartan. ## It's usually about 100mgs of the Losartan to equal each 160mg of the Valsartan in the Diovan, but your HCTZ (Hydrochlorothiazide) has been raised from 12.5 to 25, so that dose has been doubled. Learn more Hyzaar details here. Did your doctor make this change? It's really a matter of trying it and seeing how it works for you. If it doesn't work, then you may require a dosage adjustment.

SOMETIMES AT NIGHT MY PRESSURE WILL SKYROCKET TO ABOUT 235/105. I DOUBLE DOSE MY MEDS BUT IT STILL TAKES AROUND 3-4 HOURS TO GET IT DOWN; NOT LOW BUT LIVABLE. I TAKE CLONIDINE .02 LOSARTAN 100 MG AND SOMETIMES AMLODIPINE 5 MG. ## Actually, the only thing bringing it down after 3 to 4 hours is time, not the medications. These medications don't work like that to bring it down that fast, they take time to work, which requires consistent dosing for 4 to 6 weeks to have an effect, occasionally doubling up, just when it spikes does nothing. Have you consulted your doctor about the spikes? What are you doing that may make it elevate like that? You most likely need a med adjustment in the evening, which will probably be a higher dosage of one of them. One that you could ask your doctor abou...
