Hey! I took Cipro for a SIBO infection for two weeks, twice a day. It made me extremely sick but so did the SIBO so we just kind of went with it anyway. My concern is the tendon issue. I have pains all the time that come and go for various unknown reasons, and am having pain in my right arm right now. I plan to call the doctor, but I was wondering in the meantime: does anyone know how long it might take for the risk of tearing a tendon to go away? Is it a few days, weeks, any clue? It's very hard for me not to work out and I've been staying put for 2 weeks now, so I'm ready to get up and go. ## What did your doctor say? I haven't really been able to find a definitive answer on this either, unfortunately. My best guess would be to wait a week or so, after finishing it, bu...

I need some help/advice/guidance because I'm honestly at a loss as to what is going on with me. At the beginning of the year I had gone to the ER and they said that I had a UTI and prescribed me Cipro and Pyridium to take for a week or so. About a few days into taking the medication I had to stop because it began to make me so sick! Luckily, even with a few left in the bottle, my UTI was cleared when I went for a follow up with my doctor. Unfortunately for me, I have been left with some annoying stomach issues! I'm constantly belching, there are days where I have sever sour stomach (even if I eat a small salad in the middle of the day!) and bouts of nausea. I have taken Florastor for 2 weeks and it did help some but not enough to say I'm back to my old self again.. I'm a...

my dr prescribed this med for a infection. The Dr. or the pharmacy neglected to tell me that you are not supposed to take antacids with this med. When I got Home I read the paperwork and the warning was also on the bottle. I have to take antacids 2x a day for my GURD. I stopped taking the antacids. What would happen if I had take my regular doses of antacids. ## If you take it with regular antacids, such as the calcium based ones like Tums, it can cause less of the medication to be absorbed, so it isn't as effective. With Ciprofloxacin, you should make sure to take these types of antacids 6 hours away from the antibiotic. This doesn't apply, however, if you are taking some other type, such as the proton pump inhibitors that are sold as generics, as well as under name brands like...

However I am still having the side effects in my hands and feet. Will this ever go away? ## Hello, Sahara! How are you? How long ago did you stop taking it? My doctor prescribed Ciprofloxacn for a stomach infection, 500mg twice a day for 10 days. I am a runner, 64 years of age, and am concerned about possible tendentious, or other leg problems that could result. My question is, could this short of a dosage cause me serious leg problems that could cause me not to be able to run? ## There is really no way to say with any certainty. Some people can take it and never have a problem, but that type of side effect has happened to some people, even after just one or two doses. If you are that concerned about it, you should discuss it with your doctor and you may want to ask them about using a different antibiotic that may not be as risky. Are there any other questions or comments?

I wish to know the use & side-effects of this drug. ## i wnt to know the pharmacology of ciprobay 500mg. thanks ## Ciprobay is an antibiotic in the Fluoroquinolone Class of antibiotics. You can see an 'Introduction to Fluoroquinolones' here and see why you should be extremely cautious about taking these drugs and be certain that your doctor is prescribing them for a confirmed infection that should be treated with the Fluoroquinolone antibiotics. These antibiotics have many 'black box' warnings on them, and should not be taken for 'presumed' infections, and should not be the first line antibiotic for 'simple' infections such as sinus infections or urinary tract infections.

I began a two week regimen of Cipro a month ago. Just as I was ending the regimen (I felt no side effects during the two weeks), I began to feel some itching and a sensation of a sunburned face. It's been two weeks and there is not a lot of improvement. Has anybody else had the same experience with Cipro? Please no exaggerators or fatalists, just honest responses and how they fared over time. ## You may be having an allergic reaction to it, it sometimes takes awhile for one to manifest. I turned out to be allergic to one a few years ago and the symptoms didn't manifest, until I was 9 and a half days in to a 10 day course. It would be best to have it checked out to be sure. is this the same tablet as perscibed for humans and dogs. any difference? ## The active ingredient is the same, but since you do not list the manufacturer, I cannot tell you anything about the inactive ingredients.
