What Drugs Can You Take With Sulfa

I am allergic to sulphonamides in antibotic - when I took trimethoprim I got Stevens Johnson Syndrome. I went in hospitla yesterday. Was given morphine for pain and then co-codamol. Last night I felt very sick and dizzy and was kept in hospital this morning an hour an a half after taking more co-codamol i sat up in bed and had all the symptoms of passing out but didn't go fully. My heart was pounding etc. Could there be a link to my allergy as my skin has been itching and my arm burning but not rash as yet. I stopped taking them - doctor withdrew them. ## Hello, Vaness! The doctor wants to change me to Diovan and Hydrochlorothiazide. I am currently on Lisinopril 40mg. I am afraid to change. I am allergic to sulfa drugs. I have had a cold/flu for about 2 months and he thinks Lisinopril may be causing the cough. (this is a new doctor to me). I have been on Lisinopril for 10 years and have had no problems. If you are allergic to "Sulfa" drugs, also known as"Sulfonamides", DO NOT take the Antibiotics; BACTRIM, or SEPTRA. Also, the diuretic (fluid) pill LASIX. I became highly allergic to sulfa drugs after being hospitalized for cellitus in my hand they pump me full of bactrim and I turned beat red and could barely breath...I was having weird tingling in my feet like when something falls asleep..hard to breath..doctor came in and said avoid sulfa drugs. I have blisters on my tongue. I know that I am allergic to the atom sulfur as well as sulfa drugs. Do synthroid or trazodone contain sulfur? ## There are far too many to possibly list them all here. During my urination,I notice that my urine is pale in colour and its smells bad,sometimes i feel like vomiting when i smell it. I am a female and immediately know when I have a kidney infection because my urine has the nastiest smell and it's also extremely foggy. I have just had the same reaction to Lisinopril-HCTZ as I've had to sulfa. What else is related? ## There's really too many different types of drugs and manufacturers to pin point every pill that contains sulfa. For future reference I would just clarify with your doctor and/or local pharmacy that you have an allergy to sulfa; this way your current and future prescriptions won't contain any. can I take an over the counter sleep aid while taking sulfameth? ## It would really depend on the specific sleep aid and what it contains. Can you post back with more details, such as the one you usually use? Just as an example, there are no interactions listed between the antibiotic Bactrim (Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim) and Diphenhydramine, which is what some of them use. I'm allergic to Sulpha based drugs, but I am into cooking and wondered if it would be safe for me to try black sea salt? in the descriptions it keeps mentioning it has a sulphur like taste, smell, etc, in it's description, but I can't seem to find out if it's actually sulphur based. If so, then you are not allergic to sulfur, because they are very high in it. I am also allergic to sulfa drugs, but have no problem with actual sulfur. I'm 40 y/o now. My Gynecologist prescribed me with conzace cap H3O. I had my surgery for endemetriosis and mioma last June 3, 2008. What are the good and bad side effects of Conzace cap H3O? ## I was unable to find any information regarding Conzace, since it is not manufactured in the US. They are made in the Philippines, and are vitamins used a dietary supplements, and not drugs. Since these are vitamins, it is hard to determine the side effects. Everyone reacts differently to vitamins, I personally had a bad experience with to much B12. Your medication contains vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, and Zinc Sulfate.
