I have been taking Bupropion XL 300 MG TAB ACT. I filled my prescription 3 hrs ago and i was given Bupropion XL 300 MG TAB ANC. I am feeling very strange. The pharmacy said they are exactly the same, just different manufacturers. I have never felt this way on the other Bupropion. ## Hello, Rita! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? Can you please describe your feeling strange more specifically? The NIH does warn that it can cause side effects such as nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, and weight loss. And yes, your pharmacist is correct, they have just been manufactured by different companies. ## Generic Wellbutrin isn’t the same as brand name. Main ingredient is the same but formula is different, so doesn’t metabolize the sa...

What does XL and IL mean on prescription drugs. ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? The various markings like this are just different abbreviations to denote that a medication is in a time released formulation, you may also see DR, SR, DA, SA, XR and others. It's just something that it seems the pharmaceutical community has gotten a bit carried away with. They need to decide on one universal one, so things are less confusing. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi , my father is having bp problem and doctor suggested to take tazloc 40 in morning and prolomet xl 25 in evening ... just want to know is it ok to control bp ..my father age is 60 also let me know medicine effect duration .. means if he will take medicine in evening then its sufficient till morning ? ## How well it works and how long it works can vary from person to person, so there is no definitive time frame I can quote for you. His doctor should check on him again, after a few weeks to see how he is doing and how well these medications are working for him. The NIH lists the typical side effects of these medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. How is he doing on them?

white, scored,50mg I had prescribed metoprolol ## Did you mean Toprol XL? This is just a name brand for Metoprolol, so Metoprolol would actually be the generic name for it. Same stuff, just different names. ## Please identify pill white oval 281

What is Metocard XL actually meant for? Sometimes, I feel pain and discomfort on the left side of the chest near the heart, which is very irritating. So, a physician at Ruby hall clinic of Pune has prescribed me this medicine Metocard XL 50mg. But i guess it has several side effects. Does it have side effects like giddiness, dry mouth, stomach discomfort, burning sensation on lips and heart burn? Kindly advice..Thanks and Regards... ## Metocard XL contains the active ingredient Metoprolol in a time released formulation, it is a beta blocker that is commonly used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure and angina. And yes, it can cause these types of side effects, in some people. If they are very troublesome for you, you should talk to the doctor, because there are other medicati...

60 mg po qd ## I think you mean Nifedipine (branded Nifedical XL) ? If not, please reply back. John ## I have to agree with John, the closest I can find is Nifedipine, which is used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, and increased urination. Can you please double check the name of the medication and post back? Thank you!

wondering about pill appearance and markings /color on the canadian version ## Just as it is in the U.S. this medication is available as both a generic and name brand in Canada. This means there are many on the market and they will all have different markings. Can you post back with the markings on the tablet you are asking about, so I can look it up for you?

Pale yellow oval pill with Teva Pharm listed as manufacturer and 682 imprinted on pill. Generic of Wellbutrin XL 300 MG. How's it different? Is it more or less likely to make me nauseous? Keep me awake at night? Give me jitters? Any thoughts? ## It's the same as the generic version of Wellbutrin XL which is called Buprospion HCL XL (extended realease). This just means once a day dosing. Most community health care centers don't cover XL's, If you can get on the Walgreen's 90 day supply cash plan, the price is about $125 for 90 days which is half the cost of CVS. And they mail it to you. I would go with the latter if on long term. PS - it is now approved for ttreatment of some forms of ADHD. But as always, ask your doc. Mostly prescribed for MDD, SAD, and smoking cessa...

round off white with WPI 3332 ## It doesn't seem to have the same effect as wellbuterin xl 300. Headaches.... ## And you are just one of the many, many people in recent months who has complained about this exact same pill. Contrary to what you are told by doctors and pharmacist, generics DO NOT HAVE TO BE EXACTLY like the name brand, there are allowed to be some difference and for some people, even though these differences are considered minor, it is enough to mean that a generic will not work for them as well as the name brand. I suggest speaking to your doctor about the problem, you may need them to prescribe it as 'brand medically necessary' or see if other pharmacies in your area carry one that is made by a different company. ## Genetics were only required to have 80% of...

Feedback about Watson Bupropion XL ## is Watson bupropion XL better than other brands? ## While Watson is generally sought out to be one of the more commonly known brands it doesn't necessarily mean that it is better than some others out there. Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may agree with one medication over the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. When you switch brand names, the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the ingredients or fillers that they put with it. I hope this helps! ## There is really no way to say that one from any manufacturer is better than...

Has anyone else taken Wellbutrin XL, and if so, how would you describe your experience? ## I am trying to figure out how to get off of the Wellbutrin xl 15o mg. i take 1 per day in the morning. It is making me throw up. I am going to start splitting it in half for a week. Then I am going to stop it all together the next week. ## I am not an expert by any means, but if XL stands for "extended release" you are not supposed to cut the pills because it changes the way the drug is released.... like you get it much faster.... ## That is correct, you should not cut, break, or crush a time released tablet, such as this, since it could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once, which may result in overdose, according to FDA warnings. Its typical side effects are listed as poss...

I've been prescribed Bupropion XL to take 2 150 mg once daily. I feel it's not enough. Has anyone tried cutting the pills in half to add 75mg more a day? Are there any risks associated with it? ## You cannot cut these tablets, the XL means that they are time released and cutting them could cause you to get too much of the medication at once. Learn more Bupropion details here. How long have you been taking it? It does take about 4 to 6 weeks for it to reach its full effect in your body and for you to know if it is going to work for you. So, you may just need to give it a little more time. ## Try getting the 300mg XL instead of taking 2 150mg once a day it could make a big difference!

I have been taking it for several years. Just figured out is has been causing other health issues. Doc said stop mirpex start requip problems with requip stop after 3days. Stop everything. not sleeping panic attacks etc. should it be tapered? ## I'm assuming your doctor expect you to just replace Mirapex with Requip, which likely means a taper wasn't necessary. Did you contact them, before stopping the Requip? A taper might be required, since you've been on one of these types of medications for several years. The issues you've described can be withdrawal effects, along with headache, nausea, and diarrhea. What issues were you experiencing that made you stop the Requip so fast?

I've been taking Watson bupropion 150 XL (first 2 daily, then increased to 3 daily) for many years. I found all the other generics ineffective or worse.( I took brand before generics were approved). When the FDA declared testing showed Watson 300 XL and two other generics were not found to be bioequivalent to brand, Watson "voluntarily" withdrew the 300 XL. Evidently the 150 XL was also taken off the market, because it cannot be found anywhere, either in mail order or retail pharmacies. Does Watson's Acquisition of Actavis mean the Actavis buproprion is Watson's formula or Actavis'? I'd be interested in more feedback here on the Actavis generic and the Par that I'm now taking, which for me is the equivalent of taking absolutely nothing. I've been so s...

I started on a course of Bup. XL of 150 mg for the first week and then double that the second week. Mornings which had been so difficult for me were great, but when I switched to the 300, I had terrible insomnia, and trouble reading. So the doctor switched me to Bup. SR 200 mg, and I am back to exhausted again. I have plenty of the XL left and am considering switching back and maybe cutting the second pill in half. Any recommendations or experience? ## The first thing that needs to be cleared up for you is that the XL and SR mean the same thing, there is no difference in those. They are both just abbreviations that designate those ones are being time released. If you were doing so well on the 150mg dosage, why did he want you to keep going up? Have been on 50 mg twice a day now on toprolXL is it better to take the new pill morning or evening? Thank you for your advice. ## I take Metoprolol 100 mg now/once a day, but when I was on the 50 mg and it increased to 100, the dr. said take one in a.m., one in p.m...12 hours apart, at the same time every day, until that prescription was used up and the new one started. I am on a lot of meds for depression/anxiety. My p-doc started me on Wellbutrin, but all of a sudden, I couldn't walk straight, veered into walls, etc. and fell often. I'm in my upper 70s. My husband insisted this effect started with the Wellbutrin, and convinced my doctor that I have to taper off. Low and behold, about 2 days after stopping, the symptoms disappeared.
