what does the word apo stand for when it precedes the name of my medication ## Hello, Jeannie! How are you? APO stands for Apotex Pharmaceuticals, they are a generic prescription medication manufacturer. In Canada, generic medications are commonly referred to in such a manner, an abbreviation for the manufacturer, a hyphen and then the actual drug name. I think it helps avoid confusion, when someone receives a medication made by a different manufacturer than the ones they were used to getting. Is there anything else I can help with?

WHAT DOES THE LETTERS APA STAND FOR? the two articles above contradict each other. top one says...apa means amt of acetaminophen & bottom one says, that apa is the amt of hydrocodone. i came here specifically for apa info. help me with the apa on my meds. thanks g. n. ## From what I could gather, it seems like a simple misunderstanding. APA & APAP are both commonly used abbreviations of Acetaminophen. This abbreviation is often used in the following context: "APA/Hydrocodone 325mg/7.5mg" Is this what you are referring to? I would suggest double checking with your pharmacist if you believe it has an impact on the quality of your medication. However, if you know the imprint on your pill, I can even look it up for you to determine it's exact ingredients. I hope this hel...

It says do not take if you are taking other meds with MAOI. What do those initials stand for? ## It's a class of medication, a Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor, they are a type of antidepressant. ## I would be shocked, but not surprised, if you were prescribed such powerful medication without a detailed, clear explanation of its side effects. It is unfortunate that many doctors treat patients with mental illness like children, incapable of understanding their own condition and medications. If this happened to me, I would find another doctor. And never take drugs from someone else's prescription. it is not only illegal but can be deadly. Note: I am a complete layman. Do not take my advice without first consulting with a licensed mental health professional. ## What are MAOI medications...

my med had oc on it for oxicontin but now it has op. What does that stand for ## I am not certain exactly what it stands for, however, it has replaced the original Oxycontin with the OC marking. Oxycontin OP cannot be crush, chewed or broken down. If someone tries, it basically turns into a gummy goo, that is supposed to only dissolve in stomach acid and retain its time released properties. Side effects remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. I have two peach colored/oblong pills..On one side is a V on the other side is the #'s 36 05 Would like to know what strength they are & what the 36 05 means. Also these pills are scored. ## Hello, Sparkplug! How are you? This tablet contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to the numbers, all manufactured prescription tablets in the U.S. are required to have markings to enable their identification, in case of emergency, so those numbers are just something used by the company in their imprint, which is registered with FDA to identify their product. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have read various different precautions about using this drug intravenously. Some say that without using a micron filter you run the risk of losing your arm due to a microcrystalline cellulose compound found in the drug, I guess as a tamper prof method. That seems cruel knowing addicts will abuse anything if the possibility it will make them high. they also say this compound is not water soluble so does that mean once water is added that compound would not enter the needle and stay at the bottom? Others say its fine. My other main question is what does the pms in pms-hydromorphone stand for and is it related to that cellulose compound? ## PMS is the manufacturer. It's pharmascience. ## What does the letters PMS- in Meds PMS-Hydromothone mean please!

what does the ng stand for in 95ng/10mg ? ## In science, chemicals and medicine, when referring to measurements like this, the abbreviation ng stands for nanogram, as explained by the NIH. Thus, what you typed would be 95 nanograms per 10 milligrams. Generally, in such results, that's the amount detected in the amount that was measured. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you Verwon for your reply. You asked if I had any other questions. I tested the other day and I am wondering if this reading is normal for my prescription? I am prescribed 20mg Oxycodone every 12 hours and 10/325 Hydrocodone four times daily. Oxycodone: 91.5 ng/10 mg (lab cutoff is 2 ng/10 mg) Hydrocodone: 104 ng/10 mg (lab cutoff is 2 ng/10 mg)

Amlodipine 10 mg tab ASC. Another bottle says LEG instead. What do the letters stand for? ## It might be the manufacturer - The "ASC" could possibly stand for "Ascend" pharmaceuticals. Can you confirm the NDC number or manufacturer name from your prescription bottle? Also, are you sure the other abbreviation was "LEG", or was it something else? Wondering if your keyboard auto-corrected the typing? ## I was wondering what do leg stand for as well ## Why would they switch from ASC to ZYD when it costs twice as much? $33.45 vs $63.56!!! This is not right. It is making your medication amount to rise with the insurance company.
