Every Pharmacy i called has told me that they dont have any ! ## Most legitimate pharmacies won't tell a "stranger" if they have any narcotics available. It's not always the case that they don't have any in stock, but rather to maintain their code of conduct or professionalism, it's not uncommon for someone to call and get shutdown like that over the phone. I would think that if you walked into a few of those pharmacies with your prescription in hand then you'd likely get a different answer from them. Opana is a highly abused drug, so that would also add to their reluctancy of mentioning its availability over the phone. This orange pill is for fluids and stool softener. It's not an crushable Opana 40mg that looks some what alike. My wife is at home hospice and the crushable Opana 40mg is nothing to play with!! First of all, Opana should never be crushed. Second, it's an ER and is Oxymorphone. Twice the strength of Oxycontin 80 milligram. Don't play with these medications!!

Are there any tricks to get the insurance company to authorize opana when the 2 other medications that they cover are giving me way to many debilitating side effects . My pain doc switched me to opana or OxyContin so I'd get pain relief without sedation, itching , rashes and vomiting . I've tried OxyContin and I had none of those side effects. Opana is a very potent narcotic that contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is only available in a maximum of 10mgs. Was it perhaps a different medication that you were thinking of? There are tablets of both Morphine and Oxycodone that are available in 60mg dosages. ## Opana is not available in a 60mg. pill. I have bulging discs at L5,L4,L3,L2,L1, AND S1. I also have spinal stenosis and degeneritive disc disease. My Pain Doc has me on Opana 40ER, one in am when I wake and one around 5:00. P.M. I am also on Norco 10/325 for breakthru and use around 7 a day. I have SEVERE Night sweats and my doc, is after me to slow down the Norco due to possible liver damage. Is there a drug that is just as good as Norco that I can use in Place of it. My pain doc thinks the sweating is caused by the Opana but she is not sure. No doctor can tell me what is causing the night sweats. I go thru 6-8 t-shirts a night and the sweat literally drips off my head at night. The extended release ones are shaped like a stop sign with a number inscribed on them indicating the dosage in milligrams. For example, a yellow Opana with the number 40 on it is the 40 mg dose, green with 20 on it is the 20 mg dose, etc. There are also normal release doses in 5 or 10 mg. I have been prescribed opana 40mg for almost two yrs. I really wanted to be optimistic about the new formula but it does not work! Very little to no pain relief from these plastic pills! why is the new opana 40 not strong like the old ones the new opanes40 are about equal to a percets 10 if that. Someone need to look into it i have been taking them for about 5yrs they are not strong at all like the old opana thank ## They changed the formulation, to help prevent abuse, similar to what was done with Oxycontin and, just like then, it seems that the new formulation just doesn't work as well for some people, though in theory, it is supposed to. The round white pil you are talking about with 262 on 1 side & what appears to be a crescent moon is a 15mg extended release oxymorphone "opana" which are definantly made everywhere in the united states! So it is a very common opiate. They are strong depending on your tolerence but would strongly suggest doing less if it's your first time trying them! They make several different ones such as round 5's, 10's & the round 15's with the moon. They also make 5mg, 10mg, 20mg, 30mg & 40mg opana ER which looks like a stop sign & different color for each different mg. How much should it the co pay for a 15Mg opana be? ## Prices definitely vary from place to place; I've searched around the internet and have seen it range from $1.50 to $2.00 per "mg" - making it a high price to pay. Other references note that you can get them for around $35 per 40mg pill (or cheaper if bought in bulk). This can of course vary and is only intended to be an estimate. Considering the price per pill, it may be worth while to look into other types of insurance that will cover this medication.
