Can naproxen sodium 550mg help with uti infection pain while peeing? I was trying to see if it lessens the pain. ## It might help a little, but you would likely get more relief from Phenazopyridine, it is available over the counter in most drug stores. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, discolored urine, and stomach pain. However, it is specifically used to alleviate the burning and pain that occurs with a UTI. You may want to look for it, if your doctor approves of you trying it. Are you also on an antibiotic?

I found this pill in my kids room...just wondering do people abuse this drug? Please let me know ## I heard that some people have used it recreationally ... just wondering..I'm worried and am hoping my kid is not hooked on them.. ## Naproxen will not get someone high, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. It is commonly sold over the counter in a lower dosage as Aleve or generic or store brands. This is, however, a prescription strength tablet, so your child should not have it. It is illegal to have this without a valid prescription. The other operative question you may want to look into is what your child thinks it is, do they think it is something they can get high off of, like a narcotic? Have they been taking other medications that they shouldn't be?

Please tell me the shelf life of Naproxen Sodium 550 mg. Thank you, Druchel Haley ## Every prescription medication, sold in the U.S. must have a shelf life of a year from the original fill-date. Thus, if you had picked it up today, 08/23/2010, the expiration would be 08/23/2011. Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, used to treat pain and swelling. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation. Read more: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I was looking for the same answer and saw this. 36 Months is the shelf life for Naproxen, not 12. What you were told was the prescription life. By law prescriptions cannot last longer than a year. They are two separate things. Medicines don't all go bad on day #366 If further validation is...

it is a blue and white capsule ## I am sorry, could you please either double check the name/spelling of the medication or post back with the imprint on the tablet itself, so I can identify it and provide you with information? There is nothing listed under both of those in the prescription drug databases and your description does not provide enough information since the size, shape and color of a medication means nothing. U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have a unique imprint on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance and dosage. However, the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, so there are many, many pills on the market, both over the counter and prescription that meet that description.

I'm taking 500 mg naproxen and 2each apap/codiene #3 300/30 for sciatic nerve pain. I'm Still in Pain! What can I take in addition to this combination without putting myself in further health risks? (I have Tramadol, Alieve and arthritis strength Tylenol on hand) ## Hello, Frances! How are you? Are you sure that it's sciatic? It's kind of funny, but given all of my knowledge of medications, side effects, and etc. I didn't know until recently, when my husband mentioned it, that sometimes the sacral area is thought to be related to the same area, and he was right. Totally changed how I handle the pain. Hey guys, the IP 109 / 500 is naproxen. But if you have an oblong pill with IP 109 and a line on the back I think it's Vicodin 5mg. Personally I think they look way too much alike. Always check. ## Hello, Kristin! How are you? Thank you for your helpful post! I'd just like to add some clarification to avoid confusion that may be caused by the typo… The 500mg Naproxen tablet has the marking IP 190 on one side and 500 on the other. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. The generic for Vicodin has the IP 109 on one side. The FDA classifies it as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and...

Will Naproxen help for tramadol withdrawal reflief? Joint aches, headache, restless legs, can't sleep etc??? ## Hi Jonny, From what I've seen online, it appears that others have also inquired about this as well. And as far as Naproxen is concerned, many people tend to believe that it wont help much, if at all, when it comes to dealing with Tramadol withdrawal relief (since it's not in the same drug class and is also considered to be much weaker than Tramadol at that). My advice would be to look into what's called the "Thomas Recipe" at: personal.umich.edu/~timaster/biopsych/home.html This is said to be one of the most common methods used for an "at home detox" and seems to have gotten a lot of positive feedback in terms of helping alleviate Tramadol withd...

found broken oblong, capsule shaped pill, either pink, peach, or orange, looks like the left side of the pill, the only imprint i can make out is "L" on one side and "RO" with a very small 500 above the "RO" ## Is the marking possibly 500 PRO? If so, then the tablet contains 500mgs of Naproxen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Learn more Naproxen details here.

I have a large, very painful hemangioma on my S1. I have been given hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10-325,ibuphrophen 800 mg, gabapentin, 300 mg and Tizanidine 4 mg which helps. Over the weekend, I have run out of Tizanidine and am in a lot of pain, also the sciatica is the worst. I was wondering if I could take naproxyn 500 mg to see me through the two days. ## Can Naproxyn be taken instead of Tizanidine? ## Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory and should Not be taken if you're taking ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory drugs. Tizanidine is a muscle relaxer. ## @Shirley, If you're considering an alternative to the Tizanidine (muscle relaxer) for those times when you run out, I think it might be a good idea to look into research on effective doses of Valerian root which is also revere...
