what doest it look like ## There is no 1.5mg Morphine available as a prescription tablet, or capsule. Did you possibly mean 15mgs? What are the markings on the ones in question? I have been being treated for chronic pain off and on for years. Recently i've been on the fentanyl 75 mcg every 3 days and the morphine 15 mg at 4 x daily. It is odd you would be prescribed an extended-release medication if you are only taking it occasionally. MS Contin (and its generics) are used for people requiring continuous pain relief and is taken every 12 hrs. I need a clear answer of how long will it take for the Morphine Sulfate ER to get out of one's system before it's safe to drink alcohol? To be very clear, I know to never drink on the same day of taking opiates, especially ER (extended release) drugs. I'm taking morphine sulfate ER 15 mg twice a day. With these ER drugs, I understand that they're designed to remain in the body for long. These dont seem to work can you take every 8hrs instead of 12hrs ## Hi Mike, It sounds to me like the dosage may not be strong enough for you; but to answer your question, the usual adult dose for pain is 5 to 30 mg every 3 to 4 hours as needed (when taking it Orally, Sublingual, or Buccal). The dosing indications for MS Contin (Morphine Oral) also state that "extended-release" tablet dosages range from 10 mg to 600 mg daily, given in equally divided doses every 8 to 12 hours or given as one dose every 24 hours. So depending on whether or not your tablets are extended-release, you should have some flexibility with the hours. Keizer Permanente is huge and corporate and in every city. They throw them at you sometimes with little information. I had an injury and was ok n 165 mg oxycodone and 60 morphine 25 mg. Transfered to Keizer and walked out without a pain magreement and a huge bottle of 250 15 mg . oxycodone.for a copay b of 10 bucks. Every month another refill. Dr eventually left then got a cooler one then a strict one. Be careful. These Dr's at Keizer are riding in the back of the med bus ans often sstep off quick so who knows what your next dr well be like. I had 5. It's like a stopover for Dr's out of residency.
