What Does Is Generic For Hyzaar

I started taking generic Hyzaar and I think this may be causing me to itch all over constantly. Is this possible? ## Mar, it sounds like you are having an allergic reaction of some sort. After reading through the package details on DailyMed, I did not find any specific mention of itching as an expected side effect of this drug. I would let your doctor know about this ASAP, as you may need to stop this drug.

I heard that the patent for Hyzarr would be expired in 2009. However, I haven't found generic one for Hyzarr in US market. Does anyone know when it will be available? ## Hyazaar contains the active ingredients Losartan and Hydrochlorothiazide, it is used mainly to treat high blood pressure. That said, it is hard to say when a generc may be available. There are occasions where the company that has the proprietary patent can get extensions, before other companies will be allowed to market a generic. what is the difference between these two drugs, E 49 (Hydrochlorothiazide and Losartan 25 mg / 100 mg) and Hyzaar 25 mg / 100 mg? Are they the same and if not why prescribe one over the other? ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? Hyzaar is the name brand, while the other is a generic that's just listed as the active ingredients, as all generics are and it really doesn't matter which one your doctor writes on the prescription pad. Unless there is some reason why you can only take the name brand, your pharmacy with automatically fill it with the generic. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension and dehydration. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I recieved a refill for my losartan-hctz 100-25. The pill color changed. It's white, circle on the pill, and its says sz 390. ## The tablet with the SZ 390 marking contains the same medication in the same dosages. What you need to know is that this is a generic medication, the name brand would be Hyzaar, so it is manufactured by several different companies. Are there any other questions or comments?

I have taken generic hyzaar for years.for the past 4years I've taken losartan potassium HCTZ 100-25 mfr by SANDOZ. They 2 days ago I got my refill and it was a different color pill and made by NORTHSTAR rx. Two days of taking them and my BP goes up to 154/122! Holy crap! My norm is 120/80. Has anyone had problems with lamotrigine (generic Lamictal) manufactured by Northstar Rx ## My pharmacy changed my Teva brand of Lamotrigine to North Star brand. Has anyone noticed a difference with the difference switching brands? ## Yes. I take lamotrigine for bi-polar depression. I have found that the Northstar version of the drug doesn't work. I took it and my mood crashed. Then I got back on the Teva made lamotrigine, and my mood stabilized. I believe the Northstar product in effective.
