He tells me that on a long term that oxycodon with out the tylenol in it will effect my liver. so why did he give me something with 500mg of Tylenol in it? just don't under stand. LOST ## I am not sure I understand why he would do that, either. The Acetaminophen is far more dangerous to your liver than the Oxycodone by itself. Learn more Percocet details here. I guess the better question is what type of doctor are you seeing? Is it a pain specialist or a general practitioner? ...

actavis oxycodone is TERRIBLE!
5 Replies RSS
I used to take Watson percocet and never had any problems and it took away my pain. The Actavis is nothing like the Watsons and have terrible side effects and feels like you are taking a placebo - NO pain relief. If you have to take more to get any type of pain relief you will suffer alot of GI problems. Anyone else notice this difference? ## Hi Lisa, While I don't have personal experience with Actavis products, I have heard numerous complaints about most of their oxycodone and percocet tablets being far below what is considered standard quality. I'm thinking there's a couple different things that may be at cause here. Excess amounts of binders/fillers are usually the first to be blamed for those who experience GI related issues. This is likely the case with most generic med... ...

I know the prescriptions are all controlled but my doctor can write refills and call in my "c" prescriptions and I have to have the hard copy written in order to get my "n" prescriptions. What do these letters stand for? Are their other letters? If so what do they stand for? If all these medications are controlled what is the difference? ## As to what those letters stand for, you'd actually need to ask at your pharmacy. Such numbers aren't universal. difference between oxycodone hcl and ir
1 Reply RSS
Some people did about as good of a job explaining that as my 3 year old. Thanks A LOT, I feel so much better now to have read the obvious Cr controlled release to IR instant release. Just a heads up, some dumb nurses do prescribe as hcl and you get the worst generic possible if they do, so care to imply. ## Hello, Carolyn! How are you? As to the release formulations, what other details do you require? That is the only difference, the time released CR is released over a period of 12 hours, while the IR is released instantly and the regular release takes about 15 to 20 minutes to start working and it's all released immediately, as well. As to the HCL, that actually has no effect on the medication you receive from your pharmacy. HCL stands for Hydrochloride, which designates the specif... ...

what does mcrk mean on my prescription bottle
6 Replies RSS
Next to my fill date of generic Percocet I usually have a MCRK code but this new supplier has MADV. Is there a meaning for this? I just feel it's not as strong as what I've been getting ## This new medication 5/325 Oxycodone / APAP has RP stamped on one side of medication ## Hello, Tom! How are you? The MCRK and MADV are abbreviations for the generic manufacturers. For instance, MCRK stands for Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. In case of emergency, the pharmacies do this to keep track of the manufacturer and/or distributor and the RP is a manufacturers logo. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
