My mother in law is a diabetic and get stomach cramps she has used dicloflam but it does not help. So someone suggested hyospasmol. She is a state patient so she only see dr once every 3 months. I have migraines - is the above mentioned medication good for treating them? ## Hyospasmol is listed as containing the active ingredient Scopolamine; which is used to treat conditions such as motion sickness, nausea, IBS and intestinal cramping. I actually would not recommend this medication for migraines since some of its side effects (listed below) are likely to give you a headache on their own: Blurred vision; dizziness; drowsiness; dry mouth; flushing. If you suffer from migraines there are a number of natural alternatives that don't have the side effects of this medication. I would suggest looking into some essential oils and/or herbs (such as basil and oregano) for this treatment to get the best results. I'm taking hyospasmol and losec and want to know what they are used for? I went for scopes several times and don't know my diagnosis. I'm always vomiting and have bad stomach pains. ## These medications are used to improve intestinal motility and to reduce the amount of stomach acid that you produce. I have migrane. Is hyospasmol the right treatment for migrane and for a heart that beats faster than it should be. ## What has your doctor advised? Hyospasmol contains Scopolamine and while it does have some legitimate medical uses, you should consult a doctor to see why you have an irregular heart beat, to rule out possibly dangerous medical conditions.

Side effects during first trimester of pregnancy? ## Hi Dee, From what I could gather, it is recommended that you keep away from using Hyospasmol (Hyoscyamine) syrup during pregnancy. Reason being is that possible dangers to the fetus have been accounted (at least in animal studies so far as I know). Because of this I would encourage you to discuss this with your physician prior to use, or if you are preparing to get pregnant. Often times in situations where the mother is pregnant and has to take a medication, it may come down to weighing out the risks versus benefits. I have lower abdomen pain and hyospasmol was given to me. Can it help? At first I was given moxymax and anaerobyl, but they did not help.
