I went to the clinic and i was given an all white contraceptive pill. I want to know if they work the same as the most common mixed (red and white). Thank you ## Hi Fudua, Do you what brand it was that they had given you? Only asking because I think it really depends on the brand/generic or manufacturer you're comparing it with. In general they all work very similarly for the same purpose, but many of these oral contraceptives have a variation of pink, blue, brown, and/or white pills in their blister packets; each with active or inactive ingredients. So it would be difficult to determine how each one might affect you until you actually take them. More often than not I see posts stating that the brands are better than the generics, but these types of medications can affect each perso...

The doctor just gave me Minastrin 24 Fe to take to relieve severe pain during my periods and to prevent pregnancy. I just finished my period the day before I went to see the doctor. Will Minastrin still be effective as a birth control after 7 days if I quick start it? Thank you! ## Hello, Ashlynn! How are you? Yes, you just need to use a backup method of protection, until the 8th day. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, PMS-like symptoms and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you very much! I appreciate the help! ## Very welcome! Have an awesome day! ## Hi, every once in awhile, because I take my birth control in the dark, I accidentally take a white pill from ...

I am 2 weeks late for my period so I went to the doctor. They checked me out and did a pregnancy test which was negative. I did 4 at home which were all negative as well. My doctor then prescribed me birth control (Sprintec) to help me regulate my period... So I can start it... My question is, since I haven't gotten my period and it's not Sunday, do I start the blue pills first still or take the white to help get my period? Idk... Please help. ## The pills that you take the week you are supposed to get your menstrual cycle do not contain any active ingredients and will not help you get your period. They are placebo pills and usually cause bleeding due to breakthrough bleeding, since it is a week off of the hormones in the other pills. That said, you do not have to start these on...

Hi, I started the pills backwards, I started on the red pills on the last day of my period. What should I do? Do I continue to take the red pills or do I start the white pills? Also are they going to work? Like will I be protected from getting pregnant? Thank you so much! ## Hello, Rose! How are you? Yes, you should have started with the active pills on the first or second day of your period, that would provide immediate protection from pregnancy, because it would prevent ovulation this month. Unless your doctor says otherwise, you should move on to the active tablets. If you start the active tablets at any time later, you must take them for a full 7 days, before they will become protective against pregnancy, according to the FDA. So, you must use a backup method of protection, until th...

I was just put on mono Linyah. My dr told me to take the first pill the Sunday after I started my period. I started my period on a Friday, took the first pill on Sunday. I’m not supposed to have my next period for 20 days, but I start the white pills in 14 days. I thought you were supposed to start your period on the day of the first white pill? ## It is normal for your menstrual cycle to change, when you are taking a hormonal contraceptive, according to FDA notes. You may also experience other side effects that could include nausea, dizziness, headache, and spotting. If any symptoms become too problematic, or if you bleed to heavily, you should inform your doctor, as it may not be the right one for you to take, so you might have to try a different one. How are you doing, now?

I've been on lomedia 24 fe for 4 months now,I just finished the first week of my white pills in my 4th pill pack. I had my period 10 days ago for one and a half days while I was on the second day of the brown pills. The past couple of days my breasts have been really sore. Is this a normal effect of the birth control? I highly doubt its a pregnancy thing because I take my pills at 11:30 pm every night,I never have missed a pill. Just a wondering if it's normal for me to have sore breasts even though I've been on this pill for a good 3 months and 7 days. Oh and I also have irregular bleeding from time to time. Advice?? ## Hello, Kat234! How are you? I'm sorry about the issue that you're having. But yes, those are listed as possible side effects of oral contraceptives ...

So I have been on sprintic for a year I stoped taking them to have another baby after I had him I started taking it again well its been a full year 6 hours after I take the last blue pill when I was in the bathroom a white clump of stringy stuff come out and I noticed some light bleeding what could this be? ## It is very hard to fathom a guess from just the limited information in your post. However, both breakthrough bleeding and discharge can be normal when you're taking hormonal contraceptives and when you aren't taking them. Have you consulted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, so they can help you determine if there is a problem.

I missed the last 4 white pills. Can i still get pregnant? ## Okay, if I remember correctly, those are the inactive tablets that you take the week you have your menstrual cycle? If so, then no, you cannot get pregnant by skipping those ones, you are still protected as long as you've taken all of the active pills as you are supposed to do. Does It Matter What Time Of Month My Period Comes In Correlation To The Sprintec Birth Control Pills? ## Why did my period come in the middle of taking the blue pills?

I have started taking Brenda 35 ed - the pack comes with the white tablets which I never take (but in this pack they ask you to start taking the white tablets on the first day of your cycle when you start a new pack) however I didnt do it, I started taking my pill on my first day of the period with an active tablet - (Normally with other pills you are protected straight away) but with this one it says it takes two weeks, I am just very confused. So I took an active tablet on my first day of my period and been taking active tablets for the last week at the same time. As I said I never take the white tablets as they contain sugar and dont find them necessary can someone tell me if I am intermediately protected when taking active tablet first day of the period? ## Hello, Nana! How are you?...

Tri-sprintec pack of birth control pills my daughter just started this month. She got to the 4th row of white pills and stopped taking the pills. I think she thinks they are sugar pills. What is in the 4th row, should she take the 7 days of white ones? She only missed 2. TX! ## Yes, they are essentially sugar pills. She should take them just as a reminder tho; she may remember this time, but over the months/years one could forget... ## That is correct, they are placebo pills that are meant to keep her in the habit of taking them. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, mood changes, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

So I just found out after 5 months into taking this birth control that the white pills are active. I didn’t take the white pills last month and had my period and then started my new pack but also did unprotected intercourse during the first week of the new pack. Now by the end of the pack, I only took one white pill and my period didn’t come. And I just now started my new pack and my period still didn’t come. Also there were some times that I took some pills late by an hour or two and did have some spotting during the 3rd week of the pack and one single spotting during the white pillbut that’s it. And no more bleeding after that. Could I be pregnant? ## Sorry I didn’t mention this before but I’ve been taking lo loestrin fe the past 5 months. And would...

My dr gave me thes sprintec bc stop my period I took them for a week and a half I started them to regulate my cycle to get pregnant do one if the pills make you fertile if I take just the blue or white 1s ## No, these pills will not improve your fertility and help you to get pregnant, while you are taking them they actually prevent pregnancy. From what you're describing, it seems he's given them to you so they could help rebalance the hormones in your body, to improve your chances of getting pregnant later, when you stop taking them. This past Friday I had a doctor visit and was just given birth control (mono-linyah) for the very first time. At the appt. i was told to take the first pill the first night I get my period. I got my period Monday so I took the first pill (which is the blue). After reading things online and talking with someone today (Wednesday), I'm concerned I already messed this up and since I'm on my period i should've taken the white pill (even the pill packet instructions don't say what color to take on your period). I'm really confused now and hope someone can help me. Should I finish taking the white pills til I'm done with my period and then start back on the blue pills? (I've only taken 3 so far) OR Should I keep doing what I was doing and stay taking the blue? ## No...

Hi: I found small round pills about 3-5 mm in diameter in my neices room, they are white and a picture of a pregnant lady (side view) the picture is in fuschia ink, the preganat lady has shoulder length hair and she is hold the side of her stomache. I am wondering what these pills are, other pills are small orange pills, same diameter as the white ones, has APO 10 on one side. Other pills are capsules pale pink and pale grey with the capital letter N on the grey and the number 37.5 on the pink. ## I don't remember exactly what the name of them are and cannot find a listing right now, but the first ones you mentioned, with the pregnant woman image on them are birth control/hormone tablets. I'm crrently taking Junel Fe 1/20, which is a low-dose birth control pill - I think. Walmart has Sprintec and Tri-sprintec on its $4 Rx program. Would either of them be comparable or low-dose? ## You do not have to be on your period to start Sprintec. You can however start it on your first day of your period or the first Sunday after your menstrual cycle. ## Tri-Sprintec is not! You should try asking your doctor or pharmacist to find a viable generic alternative. ## do you have to take the last week of pills the white ones?

Ok I just recently got on birth control about 4 days ago and I just thought about something. Before I took birth control my period always lasted around 3-4 days. Now that I'm on the pill, there are 7 white pills for your period.... arent the white pills just to keep you on track? like they dont protect you at all right? so do I have to take the white pills all 7 days...like if I end my period early, do I have to keep taking the white pills? Like if I start taking the white pills on sunday, get my period that day, and then it ends...say...thursday, do i just take the white pills still for the rest of that week or do I start taking the next blue pills? ## I am not very familiar with Sprintec, but I have been on Beyaz for years now which is a 24/4 birth control pill (24 active pills ...

I am taking Harmonet birth control pills by Pfizer. A blister of Harmonet pills consists of 21 pills which all have white color and look the same. Are they actually all the same (contain the same amount of hormones in each pill), i.e. is Harmonet a monophasic birth control pill? ## From what I've been able to find, yes, they are monophasic, it is the sudden stop of not adding any hormones that fourth week that induces a period. The FDA lists the typical side effects of most oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, changes in appetite, and mood changes. I don't know if this was posted before because I didn't see it but I have a question. I'm on sprintec birth control and I got my period yesterday at 1am. I've taken 2 of the white placebo pills. I was wondering if I started taking the blue pills will it stop my period? Tomorrow's my birthday and I feel absolutely terrible due to my period. I've been on this birth control for about 2 months. I'm almost 4 months post partum. ## Hello, Marie! How are you? No, once you've started, switching back to the active pills won't stop it.
