I am 24 years old, after severe depression/mania/psychosis from age 12-20 I tried many Antidepressants/mood stabilizers/anti psychotics and even ECT(with no effect), I finally got the right balance of 225mg of Venlafaxine in the morning(8am) and 300mg of Lamotrigine at night(8pm). I have been stable with limited mania/depression and no psychotic features for 6 years now. I weighed 97kg when I first started this dose of Venlafaxine and Lamotrigine 6 years ago, however over the last 11months I have slowly lost weight through exercise and healthy eating/portions. I have noticed as this was happening in hindsight I was/am feeling more tired, I find it very hard to wake up in the morning and just generally tired(but not in a depressed way) Also my heart rate during exercising has been pretty...

My elder daughter is 20 years old. She is having thyroid problem and her weight is 76kg, height 5'3. The doctor suggested her this glycomet for weight-loss. She is taking glycomet 750mg now and she reduced her weight by 6 kg. If she discontinues treatment will she gain her weight back or not? ## I'm 25yrs old, 57kg and 5 foot tall. I want to lose weight taking glycomet 500mg. Is it a good or bad option? ## I have been advised Glycomet 500mg to control my blood sugar which is 107 while fasting and 117 PP, but my weight is 88 Kgs. Will it help in weight reduction as well? I am 71 years old.

i was 55kgs just before two days i was feeling bodyache and take the medicine1. etoshine 90 2.Riecal CZ 3.EVION LC and after two days found my weight 59 Kgs. I want to know that whether these medicines are responsible for gain in weight and reduction in fatiuge. ## HI, Meenu! How are you? It was most likely due to taking the Riecal, which is a multivitamin nutritional supplement. If you were a little underweight due to not taking in enough nutrients in your diet, then getting enough of them from this supplement could have caused the slight weight gain and it would most likely also cause an increase in energy. But you should consult your doctor to be certain, since a rapid weigh gain could also be the sign of other possibly dangerous health conditions. Is there anything else I can help w...

Originally used for weight reduction--it is available for treatment of ADD. I was originally prescribed it for the former, but found it more effective for treatment of ADD than other drugs such as ADDERALL. If not currently available through your company, can you provide sufficient information for pharmacists to formulate this. ## I believe that this drug is related directly to Adderrall, right? In fact it contains the exact same chemical ingredients (Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine). A listing is available at Biphetamine.asp. Hope this helps... ## I have recently been started on Adderall after a period of several years. About 30 years ago, before ADD for adults was even considered, I was prescribed Biphetamine for weight control. I successfully went through graduate school on this (I...

Can I use Metformin for weight reduction? I wanted to know about the side effects of Metformin... ## I wouldn't count on using an anti-diabetic drug for weight loss. Your best bet is a healthy change in eating habits and regular exercise. A pill won't lose the weight for you. Sorry to sound blunt, but it would be ignorant to think otherwise. As far as side effects go...the most common adverse effect of metformin is gastrointestinal upset, including diarrhea, cramps, nausea, vomiting and increased flatulence; metformin is more commonly associated with gastrointestinal side-effects than most other anti-diabetic drugs. The most serious potential side-effect of metformin use is lactic acidosis; this complication is very rare, and the vast majority of these cases seem to be related t...

I am non diabetic but obese 48-year-old female. My doctor gave me Glucomet 500 mg half tablet morning and half tablet in the night for weight reduction. Is it safe for a non diabetic to take diabetic medicine? ## HI, Malathi! Yes, it's safe as long as your doctor is going to be supervising you regularly. When it's used in such cases, it's due to your doctor suspecting that you may be insulin resistant, thus an antidiabetic medication may help improve your situation and enable you to lose weight. You may experience some side effects from it, such as nausea, headache and flatulence. Is there anything else I can help with?

Just started Ozempic for weight loss. In my 4th week and now taking 0.5mg... I don’t really feel any loss of appetite. Does it take a little longer for that to kick in? I have had no side effects which makes me wonder if it’s even working? Lol ## I took my first dose of Ozempic and feel nothing, no side effects at all. I am hungry and there is no reduction in appetite. Anyone else? I wanted to lose weight. ## I started with 1mg and the next day was nauseous and vomited after eating. I quickly learned that I cannot eat the same portions plus my appetite greatly diminished. After 4 months I lost 30 lbs and have minor side effects. Fatigue is my major side effect. If you are feeling nothing ask your Dr to up the dosage. I just saw my Dr and he felt like I've hit a plateau o...

I'm taking oxyneo 3x20mg dayly for fibromyalgia. Can I replace the oxyneo with Ralivia or Tramacet. At what reduction rate should this be done safely? ## Hi pibird, I have read of Oxyneo users switching to the medication Ralivia, so I'm sure it's possible. When it comes to the dosage you should really ask your doctor, since it will be based on a number of factors like medical history, age, weight etc.. If you'd like, you can post in this thread where other users discuss switching from Oxyneo to Ralivia: /Discuss/Oxy-Neo-235700_s2.htm I hope this helps! ## @pibird, In my honest opinion, switching over from such a high dose of Oxyneo (oxycodone extended release) to what's considered to be a much more noticeably weaker opioid, should probably be done under the supervisi...

Is it safe to have zeptol 300 mg along with Levipil 500 mg. The doctor has advised reduction in Levipil over 3 weeks and shift to Zeptol because of age concerns. I am 73 and am suffering from disorientation and small attack of fits ## It is always best to follow your doctor's advice and instructions for the best possible outcome. The NIH lists the typical side effects of Zeptol as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, memory loss, mood swings, and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been reading all the responses above and want to tell you there are more to come. Lyrica is a "fat" conserving drug. My daughter gained more than 100 lbs. on it. Now, pain, weight, depression, "foggy" headedness, etc. continued. Oh, yes the terrible rash all over her arms, so bad she refuses to wear a short sleeve top. She always has a jacket on. Hair loss and at 30, the gray hair is now coming. Yes, Lyrica is the cause. She is now down to 25mg, but the reduction has to be very slow. She is one of about 8% that just can't quit it right off. GET OFF OF IT IF YOU CAN. It is the worst thing that has happened to her. She can't work and had to stop going to school because of the memory loss. We need to find a lawyer to help. ## Thanks for your informative post....

I'm taking a small dose that was prescribed due to a sudden A-fib situation. I am off any blood thinners other than aspirin and have cut the dose to about 2.5mg 2xs a day. My heart rate is upper 60s to mid 70s at rest. I only got to 130 one time while bowling during the day and it remains in the mid to upper 80s. I have noticed a reduction in libido and a weighted feeling in my lower legs. I've been on it for 8 months +- blood pressure is fine, a little discomfort from time to time in the stomach. Now I want to get off this, but how? ## At that low of a dosage, you can most likely just stop taking it, but you should only do so, if your doctor approves. If this is the only thing controlling your blood pressure, there is a risk of it soaring back up, if you stop it, according to t...

I believe this drug was the old alternative to HRT. I have been taking it for 4 years and it works. However, I have been alarmed by pharmaceutical industry friends pointing out that it contains a narcotic. I have recently cut back to 1/2 pill per day BUT have been gaining weight despite following fairly strictly the Weight Watchers program. Are any of the ingredients (belladonna, ergot or phenobarb) known for affecting metabolism? If so, perhaps mine has been slowed recentlyby my reduction of the does. Help please!! ## To Brigid Brown: I have just recently been prescribed the belladonna/ phenobarb tab for heart burn. Does it really work because I still have heartburn?

Are the Metformin 500 mg tab Sandoz used to control high blood sugar? ## Hello, Based on my research, Metformin belongs to the class of medications called "oral hypoglycemics", which are medications that lower blood sugar. It is used to control blood glucose (blood sugar) for people with type 2 diabetes. It is used when diet, exercise, and weight reduction have not been found to lower blood glucose well enough on their own. Metformin works by reducing the amount of glucose made by the liver and by making it easier for glucose to enter into the tissues of the body. Metformin has been found to be especially useful in delaying problems associated with diabetes for overweight people with diabetes. NOTE: studies have proved that a low fat raw vegan diet can reverse and cure diabetes ...
