I have always taken the Watson 853 yellow pill and for some reason I was just given Watson 853 white pills. What is going on? Why the color difference? ## It seems from other posts made on here recently that Watson is just removing the dyes from some of their products. There have been some complaints from people that have had sensitivity or allergic reactions to them, so they have been doing away with them. However, as long as the imprint is the same and your pharmacy has listed it as being the same medication and the same dosage, then you shouldn't have any reason to worry. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Not the same for sure! ## I have experienced poor results with the white pills. If they are different and labelled the same then walgreens is liable for damages! ## ...

No worries people, the yellow 853 are exactly the same as the white one's, JUST NO DYE ## For anyone else wondering, I can also confirm that "dye" is the only thing separating these two pills. According to nih.gov, the 10 mg/325 mg and 10 mg/750 mg tablets include "D&C Yellow #10 Aluminum Lake" You can learn more about this drug on the page for Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone I hope this helps! ## Well, jbone & David, I can't see why so many, myself included, have had such ad reactions to the white Watsons. I don't take narcotics often but I did for 11 years. I have never had this type of problem with hydrocodone as I did last week! It didn't touch my pain at all and it made me very sick! Something is going on with them, most definitely! ## There is s...

is the yellow pill watson 853 as strong as the blue watson 540 ## The tablet with the WATSON 853 marking contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone. The tablet with the WATSON 540 contains 500mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone. So, they both contain the same amount of the active narcotic, Hydrocodone, but they do not contain the same amount of Acetaminophen, which improves the effect of the narcotic. Is there anything else I can help with? ## does 7.5 hydrocodone come in yellow I find the yellow hydro far superior to the white pill

I've got the white Watson 853's. I also feel less pain relief from them. I also have mild signs of withdrawal moderate head ache, nervousness and shaking. If indeed they were 10/325 they'd at least care of a head ache. Right? Not having the oringinal prescription I can't read the micro print to see if they're a placebo. Doctors do prescribe placebos to see if you're in pain or not. I fact I can could spend hours telling you what kind of games/tricks that doctors will play. I know because I've been treated for chronic pain since 1996. Some doctor are worse than others. But, it always comes down to them not wanting their names appearing on a DEA agents desk. Many pain doctors won't prescribe cause they're needle jockies. At a pain clinic the CNP prescri...

I'm not sure why ppl are having different reactions but i myself have taken hydrodone almost 16 yrs now for MS. then developed AML also . I've had every form of it. i know the exact feeling i get starting with in my head, chest ,stomach ,etc as it's working . these are hydro. they're actually stronger than the yellow I've took 6yrs. it actually made me sick first dose cz I'm used to taking 2at time ,so did with these. only question i have is why do they start dissolving immediately in my mouth &why do they taste so strong ?? I don't remember that before ## The fast dissolving and stronger taste may just be due to them not having a coating on them, while many of the others do. Some manufacturers use a coating to make their pills easier to swallow and to pre...

I have been taking the yellow vicks with a v nd a 3606 or something well I just recently got these yellowish brownish looking watson 853 I've never seen them I've had the m357 I've had regular up ones and the white watson 853 but these are not solid yellow the have like a brownish tint to them has anyone ever had them? ## Hi Leo, I haven't had these one's in particular before, but from what I've researched, legitimate Watson 853 tabs should either be white or solid yellow in color. If they are brownish, I'd personally be hard pressed to think they were real unless you did in fact obtain them from a licensed pharmacy (which wasn't made clear in your post)? Manufacturers can change the physical appearance of their pills without prior notice and depending on...

I have been on Norco for years . I have used it in conjunction with Roxicodode with great sucess. Now that I have switched to the white version I am having serious problems controling my pain. I don't believe they just removed the dye. This white Norco has become a placebo falling far short of the results I once had. Now I am in scramble mode to find a replacement for the old yellow Norco. Walgreens has told me they have had several calls with other pain patients suffering from the new White Norco. Obviously Watson drug has altered the Norco to increase profits at the patients expense. How surprising. I will update fellow sufferers of the new bad White Norco with an alternative as soon as my Pain Clinic can finda replacement. I have a white oblong pill with Watson 853, is this the same pill as the Norco m367? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Yes, they are both listed as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, they are just manufactured by different companies. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How come the Watson 853 does not give me relief? I have taken the yellow and the white 10/325 hydrocone for a while and these new pills are clearly different. ## I noticed Lisa another person asking the same question I am asking why doesn't the Watson's work as well as the yellow ones. Found this pill with Watson 853 on it. This was broken in half on the floor, the person is pregnant and has a toddler in the house. Could she be taking this pregnant??? She said her grandmother must have dropped??? Worried ## What reason do you have to not believe her? This tablet contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. No, it shouldn't be taken while pregnant, but she may have been telling you the truth. Perhaps her grandmother just needs to be more careful, when visiting.

So recently I received a white Watson 853 that looks identical to the yellow ones; size, shape, imprint. Everything checks out except it does not feel as strong as the yellow. I was then told that Watson is not manufacturing yellow ones anymore so I checked the Watson/actavis website. They had no info on white 853. Are these fake? ## Hi Michael, Where a bouts did you get the pill from? If you didn't purchase it from an authorized seller, you could most definitely have a counterfeit. The only other thing I can think of, is that it may just be an old version that is no longer on the market. I believe Actavis pharmaceuticals now owns Watson pharmaceuticals so here is a link to the contact page of Actavis Pharma's website if you'd like to ask them about the pill you have: actavi...

I got a blue pill with Watson 853 and it's supposed to be 10/325 Norco. They seem chalky and taste funny. I'm concerned because my ex-boyfriend picked them up for me against my better judgment. ## Dear Asia, Legitimate Watson 853 is supposed to be either yellow (old version) or white (new version). If it's blue I would get them analyzed by a lab immediately and/or safely dispose of them, because my better judgment tells me they are counterfeit and may contain something else altogether that could potentially be harmful. The original yellow Watson 853 was made by Watson Pharmaceuticals prior to being taken over by Actavis, who reintroduced them as a white version with the same imprint. A lab analysis would at least determine if your ex-boyfriend was trying to poison you. Bette...

I've been taking the Watson 853 yellow hydro /acetaminophen for several years. I get them from a well known pharmacy company. My most recent script was filled and I noticed the color was white, even though the markings of Watson 853 are identical to the light yellow pill. There was a huge difference in side effects with the new pill; constipation, dry mouth, and a little nasal congestion that I typically get from preservatives like sulfites. Many people get these symptoms when taking narcotics, but I have been fortunate with the hydrocodone as it has never affected me that way (oxycodone does however) I called the pharmacist and he said he couldn't get the yellow tabs anymore but wouldn't say one way or the other whether the formulation or fillers in the white pill differ fr...
