Trying to find out how to get on pain medication for my back pain how to get a good doctor to trust and help me with what I need ## Hello, Kid! How are you? Well, to be honest, pain medication should be the last resort, after trying other options to solve your problems. They carry the risks of causing problematic side effects and many of them can be habit forming, such as opiates. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, that would be the best place to start, they can refer you for some exams and evaluations to see what's causing your pain and then refer you on to a specialist, if needed. Can anyone recommend any good doctors in WA?

I'm desperate to find a doctor to advocate for me in social security as well my pain. I deal with daily pain aND my current doctor is retiring. The doctor I saway today is taking me off all pain medication as a way of reducing pain and even said the lesions in my brain are caused by the large amount of opiates. I'm at the point I should go to a methadone clinic for treatment. If anyone knows of a doctor who will treat me with dignity and treat the pain please send me the refferal! My depression and anxiety is out of control now... I am in desperate need of help! I have medicaid and some cash. I'm getting up in my yrs am 62 wish to find doctor who can prescribe dolphins don't really care for subutex but at this age to hard on me going into a clinic everyday for the rest of my life. Oh they don't cater to wheelchairs go figure. ## Hello, Debbie! How are you? If you've already been going to a clinic, then that is your only option. It would be illegal for a private practice doctor to prescribe it for you. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I'm sorry, I know it's not the news most people want to hear, but that is the way the current law stands. However, if you're just looking for pain treatment and not...

I live in NE WA State and have Interstitial Cystitis and have been dropped by my doctor for no good reason. I have been a good patient, have never failed a U/A, and always came to my appointments. They said they were being "nice" to give me 30 days worth of pills to find a new doc.. Well, those 30 days are past and I have called all over the place. No one will take a chronic pain patient! I can't believe this! What country are we living in? If anyone has any suggestions, please, please let me know! I've stretched my pills that are left just about as far as they will go. I take Oxycontin 30mg 3 x day, and Hydrocodone 10mg 4 x a day. I cannot face the pain that will come when I run out.

There's a new Sub Clinic in Tri Cities, WA. Opening early July 2012. in Kennewick, WA. Name: Ideal Option Suboxone Clinic Address: 415 North Morain Street, Suite B Tri Cities, WA 99336 Phone number: 509-222-1275 Hope this helps! ## Hi Sub, Thanks for that information. I'll add some additional information regarding Suboxone for anyone who is curious: Suboxone (Buprenorphine) is a semi-synthetic opioid that is used to treat opioid addiction in higher dosages (>2mg), to control moderate acute pain in non-opioid-tolerant individuals in lower dosages, and to control moderate chronic pain. It is available in a variety of formulations: Subutex, Suboxone (Buprenorphine HCl and naloxone HCl; typically used for opioid addiction), Temgesic (sublingual tablets for moderate to severe pai...

Been seen and treated for over 15 years same doctor with oxycontin and methadon , he relocated and now wants me to go to pain management doctors. Would like to find other primary care doctors that prescribe pain narcotics in Seattle ## Hello, Marc! How are you? Due to the new DEA recommendations that were issued last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist to continue receiving such medications, PCPs will no longer prescribe them, unless its for a patient with intractable pain from a possibly fatal condition, such as stage 4 cancer. They could continue to prescribe them for patients they were already treating, in some cases, but most will not do so for new patients. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming ...

I had just moved to Washington state and in need of a honest pain Doctor who understands the truth about pain for the back?? ## Hello, In regards to finding a local pain doctor, I have listed below a couple websites specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other site a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients; some aren't, but most usually are. Have been using therobec plus for many years. Recently, can't seem to find them target pharmacy. If not available any longer, can you suggest an alternate near/equal vitamins to therobec plus? Thanks. ## It is listed as containing a complex of B vitamins, with Vitamin C and Folic Acid, however, I can't find a listing that includes the precise amounts. Severe back pain - ptsd - severe head aches. Looking for a doctor, maybe VA. Will VA prescribe?.. Also they lost my medical records. ## Hello, Brandon! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain, no one should have to suffer. However, there is no listing of doctors according to what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. I know most VA hospitals have pain management programs, so you could try contacting them. Does anyone else have any ideas? ## VA will not prescribe opiates. My Dad suffers as well and they just overload him with NSAIDS and recommend neck surgery. We are not sure that would be a great idea for someone 70+ with PTSD and no discs between C5, C6 and C7 ## I can relate, also have ptsd and back problems, all i can say is this: getting on the opia...

I need a Dr that excepts medicare as payment. I now am paying for methadone at an outpatient clinic because my insurance does not cover. However, I need methadone not for addiction reasons, but I have fibromyalgia. So a Dr. That prescribes it for pain will also work ## Hello Keekee! How are you? I'm sorry, but if you've been going to an addiction treatment clinic, regardless of why, the fact that it is an addiction clinic will be in your records and a private practice doctor won't be able to prescribe it for you. Thus, staying with a clinic will be your only option. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. We are in Washington state. My wife has psoriatic arthritis, endometriosis, and fibromyalgia. She was force tapered to 3 30mg oxycodone a day and can now barely get out of bed, let alone work. Washington law lays out that chronic pain patients are absolutely able to be prescribed more than 120 m.e.d., yet the doctors we have seen won't go over that limit. We are trying to find a Dr that is willing to bring my wife back up to the dose she was on that let her live her life, not be bed-ridden from pain. Does anyone know of a Dr that is caring and is willing to prescribe more that 3 pills a day? Thank you for any help you can provide us. ## If my math is correct 120 pills would 4 a day not 3. ## I am so fed up with the politics of this BS. The courts have determined that pain is subject...

I have Medicare and Medicaid and some money for treatment. Please help me as I'm trying to do the right thing. ## Jeff Contact your local social services agency they can sometimes help to get you into a legit. Prescriber. Hi I just moved from Washington State to Portland,Oregon. I am on SSDI for back injury,3 bulging disks and massive arthritus in neck, and 3 in thoratic back, and for Degenerative disk disease.I was going to a pain management center-referred to them by my regular doc,& they had me taking Norco-Vicodin 30 mgs a day. When I came to Portland,OR the doc that I'm seeing now said she's going to "wean me off" of pain meds, that I need to be able to function doing just everyday living things like showering, walking the dog, ect. I asked her then what? After I'm completely off them, she said well U could try PT but U said that hasn't worked in the past-which it didn't the PT I went to actually sent me home saying it was making condition worse/more pain. Hi there, Can anyone tell me why pharmacies only dispense the generic version of the pain pills I am prescribers by my pain management. (Norco and Lortab). The pharmacies say they don't have it in stock and unable to order it. Same answer from the Hospital pharmacy. They say generic is all they dispense. WHY! Is this true? The reason I ask is because a pharmacy technician told me that the big greedy drug companies give their people a 20% field of margin of what they can use. We can all be sure it's not the actual drug we need. Generic has always felt lacking to me. I dont think it used to be this way. When I lived in Washington State, it seems like we had our choice. I know we are being cheated of what we are getting. Is this even legal? Does anyone know if my questions are true...

I lost my job because my call center closed on May 31st. The insurance I had which almost entirely paid for all of my prescriptions also ended. I'm currently substitute teaching but that is as needed. Is there anyway to get samples of this prescription in the meantime? 100mg 1X's daily is the dosage I took. ## Unfortunately, since Losartan is a generic medication, patient assistance, and sample programs are not likely available. However, there is a Prescription Discount Card available here. It is free, and has helped many people save money on prescriptions. Another idea would be to ask your pharmacist if they know of any helpful programs available, some states, such as Washington, have a program specifically for low-income, uninsured people.
