I too am a chronic pain sufferer, I was in a bad car accident several years ago, all my limbs were broken at once and they used my hip to rebuild one of my feet. I have a GP that has been helping me but now feels she has been letting me use too many narcotics and has abrubtly cut me off. I'm interested in controlling the pain not using the pills but it feels like nobody really cares. Is there any doctors in the Kansas City area who believe in pain management with narcotics. I believe that if you don't understand the pain of the indivdual it's hard to understand why we ask these questions. I don't want to shop for a docotor that's not what I do but what are we suppose to do if they won't help us. ## Hello, JJ! How are you doing? I am very sorry about the problem t...

I found out about Lyrica after 6 months of the soles of my feet felt like thick Elephant pads and painfull. The sharp needles and pins prickling night and day.The bottom of my feet and toes burned to the point of turning red. I tried Benfotiamine..no help. I tried Novacaine I bought through a Canadian pharmacy...no help. I found one thing that would help some.Sitting with your feet up and a wet wash cloth draped over the feet and havin a ceiling fan blowing on them. At night I would wet the wash cloths ,fold into a triangle. fold tightly around the feet and pin on with a large safety pin. I stuck my feet out from under the covers. It was the only thing that would allow me some sleep. My Doctor would alwayssay he didn't knowwhat would help. I was already on Darvacet and Flexeril. I fo...

Hello, I am new to Newport News, Hampton, VA. I have been under the care of US Military for almost 15 years. When my husband retired from the Army and move back to Virginia. I was cut off of my pain medication. I was told that they will not be taking care of my long term chronic pain, that it was for active duty only. I was in shock. I was seriously injured after 18 years of owning and installing wallpaper working with liquid herbicide, pesticide, plasticizers, vinyl acetate. It destroyed my hands and feet, it comes out in the form of hundreds of blisters, peripheral neuropathy: toxic neuropathy, toxic encephalopathy, severe dermatitis of both hands and feet, bladder damage, chronic fatigue syndrome, reactive airway disease. I cannot lay in any position besides on my stomach, and I also cannot sit in a reclined position for even a few seconds without a horrible reaction. If I move into any of these positions I get instant gas, bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain, muscle spasms, pain in my hands and feet, confusion and fatigue. I also have developed many food allergies in the last 4-5 years. I cannot tolerate any amount of sugar, alcohol, or yeasts, and I seem to have constant sinus infections. My holistic doctor believes I have Lyme and co-infections, but I am trying to see if there could be a gastro-intestinal explanation for these strange symptoms that seem to be trigured by resting positions. ## I understand why some people try to use holistic medications and treatments, but you do need to be aware that t...

I understand that there are many side effects of Eliquis. My 41 year old husband has been on Pradaxa in the past and had severe side effects. The dr. has pleaded with him to stick to this one for at least three months, as it is very difficult to get his INR right with Coumadin. What can we do to get some relief from the joint pain? My heart is breaking he is in so much pain. (We're trying heating pad and staying off his feet--right now pain is in his ankles, earlier in the week, it was his knees). ## Hello, Denise! How is your husband doing? That has been a very common complaint from people taking Eliquis and is a known side effect of it, as listed by the FDA. Hello. I am currently under uva pain management and I'm miserable with these doctors. I never see the same dr and I am in different meds for my spine, hips, and severe nerve pain in my hips, legs, neck, shoulder and arm. Numbness in toes getting worse, when I'm on my feet longer than ten min, and loss of feeling in right hand in ring finger and pinky. I have tried gabapentin before and I told the dr it doesn't work yet they prescibed it anyways, along with baclofen 10mg 3 Times daily, diclofenac 75 mg twice a day, gabapentin 600mg 3 Times a day. Heres my issue, I am in severe pain. I cannot keep up with my kids like I wld like to, I am still not to familiar with this area but I need a doc who doesn't treat me as if I am an annoyance, a "junkie" bc I am in legitim...

I have chronic anemia from Crohn's disease and we decided to do Venofer this year to address my anemia. I did like 10, 200mg infusions and my HGB was declining the whole time. Long story short, I had to go on Prednisone, switch GI docs, go on Remicade and Cellcept to get disease under control. Then we started with the Injectafer. The first two infusions went fine. I started feeling much better. After a couple of months my iron had dipped again below range and we decided to do another 2 Injectafer infusions. The infusions themselves went fine. It was around then that my body started hurting all over. My neck, back, elbows, knees, feet, etc. My GI doc thought I had developed antibodies to the Remicade so we tested for that and I have no antibodies. Now I suspect the Injectafer is the ...

Hi, I have had pain in my L/ R shoulders and then ended up under my feet ie, swelling. I had an operation for Carpal Tunnel in both my wrists in early 2005 it, took them from 2003 to figure that out and I believe due to the waiting for ACC to do all their testing and getting specialists to assess me. In that time I had to use my upper arms/ upper body to, compensate for my wrists and over that time I have ended up with pain in my both my shoulders it, feels llike they're broken. I have been taking Codiene Phos, paracetemol, since 2003 right up until 2 months ago due to it not working at all. Since then I have been taking like 26 pills per day and it wasn't working at all, now today my doctor is trialing me on Prednisone because of the swelling in my shoulders and under my feet, ...

I had a work injury that crushed several discs in my neck and I have recently undergone fusion surgery which went well. However, I was not prepared for the pain I experienced. I have been on 10/325 norco for 7 weeks. I only took the Appropriate Rx amount or less; never more than 5 pills in a day. When I got to the point where I felt like I could manage the pain, I quit taking norco cold turkey. I wigged out. I experienced gnarly anxiety, mood swings, burning in my legs and feet, nausea, and elevated bp. I am trying to wean off the drug on my own but am super discouraged. Can anyone give me pointers on exactly how to do this? ## Have you consulted your doctor for advice? I am prescribed (2) tabs 25mg carvedilol, (1) tab amlodipine besyl 5mg,(1) tab potassium chloride 8meq sr, and (1) tab losartan k/hctz 100-25mg a day for HBP. I have been on this for past 8 years. I have severe leg/foot weakness and pain. I do not have diabetes but my family Doctor said it is probably neuropathy from unknown cause. This started since the onset of the meds. I also have poor balance. My pressure is under control but the effects are bad. Could the losartan be a major cause as I've heard a lot of negative issues with this med. ## According to NIH, the following symptoms are listed as known side effects of Losartan: -weakness or heaviness of the legs -unsteadiness or awkwardness -muscle pain or stiffness -numbness or tingling in the feet Source: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhe...
