We were receiving the Pantoprazole 40mg EC tablets, yellow~oval~w434. The last refill we received the Pantoprazole 40mg DR tablets, white~oval~KU181. These do not seem to be working as well as the original ones. We were trying to locate the differance between EC and DR. We did discover the DR means delayed release, but found no info on EC. Could you please help us figuring out what the difference is?? Thank You ## Hello, Markayshai! How are you? Both abbreviations really mean they same thing, they just designate it as being a time released formulation. i have been taking wockha protonix 40 for a number of years. I just picked up my prescription and the pills look a darker than usual....they say w434 on them....i have been having stomach problems since i started on the latest batch of pills. has wockha made any changes? ## HI, Cindy! Sorry about the problem you're having. I am not aware of any changes having been made to them and nothing is listed in the databases at this time. But the issue might really be that your body has just gotten used to them, so they are no longer working as well for you. Why have you been on them for so long? These are usually just used for short-term treatment, since there are risks associated with long-term use, such as hip fractures.
