is Soma considered an opioid? ## No. It isn't related in any way to opioids. It is related to an ancient tranquilliser called meprobamate which was widely used in the 1950s but hardly at all since benzodiazepines hit the market. Another name for carisoprodol is ISOMEPROBAMATE. An amount of your Soma/Carisoma is metabolised by the liver into meprobamate so as well as being a superb muscle relaxant it does have a slight tranquillising effect. Barely noticeable though it does tend to potentiate the triazolo-benzos like alprazolam. I wonder where the notion that it was an opioid came from? That's one I never heard before! ## soma is not a opiate, IN FACT IN THE USA IT IS NOT EVEN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE!. i never understood what all the hype was about, they only putt me to sleep. Is it safe to take o tropin while on lisinopril and simvastatin? ## O-Tropin reportedly contains a blend of natural amino acids and herbs. Although I find it strange that I cannot locate any specific details on what these ingredients are exactly. From my own past experience, most natural supplements tend to fair well when used in conjunction with prescription meds. So in my opinion it should be fine. But, you may have to be your own best judge in this case, since natural supplements are not regulated like prescription drugs; and therefore aren't classified in a way that compares possible interactions with each and every other medication. I hope this advice helps!

What is the maximum/day my pcp can prescribe long term opiates without going to pain management. Specialists are expensive for me but not the medication. Im currently only getting 5 5mg oxycodone from pain management because old pcp wont mess with it. Thnks for help. Isnt up 80mg/day allowed? ## By Federal Law, Schedule II can be perscribed for a max of 90 days without seeing the dr. This applies to all drs. The dr can write 3 30 days rxs for s Schedule II. Although most won't because they don't make any money of they don't see the patient. Put state of ohio and schedule II restrictions in your search bar. That should give you the info regarding your state laws. Or you can go to the Ohio Board of Pharmacy website. ## New regulations were put in place last year restricting wh...

I was put on Oxybutynin almost a year ago. It started because I have severe Crohns disease and woke up one morning after an extended flare up unable to walk. I went to the hospital and they found a blood clot inside my heart blocking off 90% of blood flow (amazing, I know.) Due to that and quickly dropping blood pressure I was forced to stay in bed for 5 weeks, then I slipped into a coma for 36 days. Being in a coma for that amount time they had put in a Foley. I had to stay on a Foley for 10 1/2 months straight. After removing it they said my bladder would struggle so this drug would help. It's been about a year since then, I've been in a wheelchair ever since. I'm hoping this background info will help anyone of you with my question. I have trouble remembering how well this...

I just want to knowledge about long term use i use 10mg to relax to get to sleep i couldnt sleep for months 3 Without it 47 year old female it sucks to be me ## Hi Christian, I'm sorry to hear about the circumstances you've been dealing with. To my understanding, taking a drug like Klonopin (clonazepam) every day can increase the likelihood of you becoming physically dependent (and having to increase your dose to get the same effect over time). More specific details on the long-term effects of benzodiazepines can be found here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-term_effects_of_benzodiazepines It is also my opinion that alternating daily between 4 or 5 different treatment options will be more beneficial for those who require long term relief; that way you don't necessarily build a t...

Any One Know Any Suboxone Dr.s Close To Indy Taking MDwise- HIP? ## Hello, Crystal! How are you? You can use the search engine on the Suboxone website to look for doctors in your area that treat with it. You can find it at Suboxone.com click here. You can search by zip code and the doctor's contact information will be included, so you can check to see if they accept your insurance and are taking new patients. I'm confused!!! In this thread, Gabapentin and Pregabapentin are said to be the same drug then someone else says no, they're difference. I CANNOT take Gabapentin as it makes me crazy and angry. Is Pregabapentin going to do the same??? Also is there ANYTHING else anyone can think of to get off of Oxycodone??? I've been addicted for 15 years and a heavy user due to true pain. The last time I ran out I almost died. Can someone please help me with any suggestion other than rehab or Suboxone to get off of this??? Thank you!!! ## Hello, Diva! How are you? I believe you have the names mixed up. They are Gabapentin and Pregabalin, they are both in the same drug class, but are different medications. all of the opiates are secretly being reduced. in drugs that are combined with aspirin Tylenol such as lortab the 7.5mg is no longer made, with doctors not even knowing this. it is the 5mg that is the strongest. the tylanol is not reduced. people in chronic severe pain will not get the relief they are expecting and take more not realizing the toxic effect Tylenol has on the liver. they are also reducing the amount of opiates a dr. can prescribe a month. when the unwinnable war on drugs turns torture and possible liver death we the people need to stand up and scream for the people in to much agony to fight. only 10% of people are junkies, which includes alcoholics.they are born with a chemical imbalance that drives them to abuse whatever substance or behavior. we need to take back our mon...

I've always been very very slim, almost underweight. When I was 21 I got hooked on oxycoton & gained a ton of weight quickly. I've been on methadone for 5 yrs now & have gained even more weight. Will switching to suboxone help me lose it. ## Hi Jenna, I was on methadone 4 almost 5 years and gained 50 lbs. a lot of people have gained weight while on it. ( seen it myself) I lost all the weight once I got off the methadone. I'm now on suboxone, and, no weight gain with it. I'm a petite person 2, and, I' am at my weight, where I was b 4 I got on methadone. Weight gain is 1 of the side effects, but, they don't tell u that. ## Hello, Jenna! How are you? A user was using for months, tried quitting cold turkey with violent, terrible, horrible withdrawal symptoms that finally tapered off, but left with depression. So user went back to using, tried quitting again but this time administered small doses to ward off the withdrawal symptoms, which worked wonderfully. User was very happy about this, though endorphin deficiency sydrome haunted still. A full dependancy on Almighty Creator Father, St. Johns Wort extract along with exercise remedied this and user is a balanced happy person and free of drugs now. ## Hello, Thank you for sharing this! I'm glad the "user" was able to successfully wean off the opiates and find a way to incorporate exercise and herbal supplements for health and happiness. :) I just thought I'd ask, was h...

I have been on percocet and percocet er. My doctor put me on wellbutrin for depression. Do these mix well together? Could some of the depression come from being on opiates for so long? ## Yes, opiates actually work as a depressant, according to NIH reports. Other side effects may including dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. However, there is no Percocet ER. What exactly where you taking? Was it Oxycontin? Can you please post back and clarify?
