PLIVA Vitamin D. Does anybody else take this and what side effects are there? One a week. ## VIT D 50,000 UNITS BY PLIVA......I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT THE DYE CONTENT....ALLERGIC TO RED AND BLUE DYES ## This is just a nutritional supplement, so for most people there are no real side effects, other than perhaps a bit of nausea due to the high dosage. However, some people can be sensitive to it and may experience some bad reactions, which can include: muscle/joint pain, irritability, dizziness, insomnia, heart palpitations, chest pain, excess stomach acid, severe facial flushing and the list actually goes on and on. Vitamin D also has a long half-life, it takes about a month to reach 50% in your body, so if you experience detrimental effects, it can take a long time to get back to normal. ...

Cal d3 calcium supplement with vitamin d3 tablets ## Hi, Treasure! Did you have a specific question about this supplement? Both Calcium and D3 are vital to your overall health, but they can also be dangerous if you take too much, so you do have to be careful. There are also certain medical conditions that they may be contraindicated with and certain medications they can affect, so you should always check with your doctor, before taking them. If you don't need, because you aren't deficient then it may not be the right thing for you to take, because the D3 will basically potentate the calcium, which makes it quite easy for you to develop hypercalcemia.

How are you? Which antidepressant are you taking? The main concern between combining an antidepressant with some herbal products, such as St. John's Wort is that it creates the risk of your developing an excess build up of serotonin, which could be fatal. Ref: Serotonin Syndrome Information As to the B12, yes, it can help with depression, tiredness, fatigue, and etc., but only if you are actually low in it, and/or don't take in a sufficient amount normally. used for rat poisoning in humans ## It's sad to see things were to scared to test on ourselves being tested on animals; even rats. In the case of supplements or Vitamin K in this instance, you never know exactly what they do in their testing facilities to ensure it works the way they want it to work. Word of advice: Get your vitamins and minerals from whole fresh ripe raw organic fruits and vegetables, and you can be assured you are getting plenty of what you need if you incorporate this eating habit on a regular basis. You are also doing the rats (and other animals) a favor by not supporting and buying into these failed products. ## Vitamin K is an essential nutrient that is vital for calcium metabolism, blood clotting, heart health and much more. Is there anyway to find this without a prescription? ## Yes, this is just a vitamin and can be found at any health food store, and even most drug stores over the counter, and it's actually preferable to the prescription form. Your doctor is not doing you any favors prescribing you the prescription form of this vitamin. Please see the page on Prescription Vitamin D to see why you actually are better off with the over the counter form anyway. You can simply purchase Vitamin D3 (emphasis on the '3') at any health food store. 50,000 IU's per week is equivalent to approximately 7000 IU's per day. So just get an over the counter dosage that is the equivalent of 7000 IU's per day and take it daily instead of weekly. There is no downside to this, it's actually prefer...

Such preparations are available in the form of tablets, capsules, pastilles, powders, liquids, or injectable formulations. Why is B17 the only vitamin illegal in the United states? ## There are many whole foods that 'naturally' contain Vitamin B17. The link below shows a list of these common food sources: As to why this Vitamin is considered to be illegal in the US, I have no concrete explanation, but can only guess that it has to do with money; the same reasons why medical marijuana is illegal at the federal level; Studies show it's benefits far outweigh its cons when compared to other medications or drugs. But the government doesn't know how to make money off of something that grows naturally around the world. Not to get off topic, but this appears to be the same reason Vitamin B17 is considered illegal even though it's found in abundance in many foods. It has potent anticancer propert...

bought B12 at GMC it does not have the lot number or expiration date to know if this bottle is still good or not. ## Hi Isabel, If you recently bought your B12 from 'GNC' without a lot number or expiration date, I would encourage you to go back and check their other bottles to see if they list anything as well. In the event that none of them do, perhaps it would also be a good idea to contact the manufacturer who makes this product directly, by looking up their name online and retrieving the company's contact info that way. If this turns into a dead end, maybe you can get GNC to refund your money for a product that has no expiration details that allow customers to evaluate its long term safety/efficacy. I know stores like Vitamin Shoppe allow customers to make a return/excha...

Can the tablet containing only vitamin b6,b9,b12,c,E,all type of supplements,omega3 fatty acids, minerals, proteins, antioxidants, necessary chemicals, inositol, herbs, trimethyl glycerine,selenium,etc.. at cheaper rate ## Hi Raju, I would like to be of assistance, but I'm not quite sure I understand your question clearly. Are you simply looking for a specific multivitamin (with all those ingredients) at a reasonable price? Judging from personal experience with supplements, I don't think you will be able to find a pill that contains all of those ingredients; but possibly a packet containing at least 3 or more different pills. Some good brand names I know of that contain a good majority of what you mentioned include: Visalus Vipak, Universal Nutrition's Animal Pak, and Beverly Inter...

I am taking this vit. @50,000 units per week. Why would my Dr, want me to take this dosage for 5 weeks? ## My physician ordered this high dose because my blood reading was low AND a CT scan revealed Osteoporosis of my spine..... I had no symptoms . I was told the pills would merely stop farther erosion of the spine but would not cure present condition. Was also told it was important to have plenty of Calcium to help absorption of the Vitamin D., which my diet already contained, ## You should ask your doctor if he did a vitamin d level. While that dosage is a 'normal' dose to treat deficiency, unless you have a vitamin d level, that amount of vitamin d may not be nearly enough! You may need FAR more vitamin d in order to correct a vitamin d deficiency, but unless you get a vitami...
