I currently have 50mcg tablets and I am trying to take 200mg. How many would I have to take? ## Hello, Anthony! How are you? Are you sure it's safe for you to take that much? That would be a very high dosage of B12 and too much of it can be very dangerous. Have you been shown to be low in via lab work? How much have you been instructed to take? ## Hi Anthony, I am a big proponent of Vitamin B12 at high doses, but even I don't recommend taking 200 mg per day. It's perfectly safe to take up to 5 or 10 mg per day, but to do so, you'd be better off buying capsules that contain 5 mg per tablet, because if you are trying to get those doses taking 50 mcg tablets, you'd be taking almost a whole bottle at a time! You can see my page on Vitamin B12 Dosage here.

B Complex with Vitamin B-12 Drug Index

B vitamins are a class of water-soluble vitamins that play important roles in cell metabolism and synthesis of red blood cells.[1] Though these vitamins share similar names (B1, B2, B3, etc.), they are chemically distinct compounds that often coexist in the same foods.[1] In general, dietary supplements containing all eight are referred to as a vitamin B complex. Individual B vitamin supplements are referred to by the specific number or name of each vitamin, su...

Elderly person needs vitamin with following ingredients: Vit. D 400mg, Folic acid 400 mcg., Biotin 300 mcg., Vit. B-12 1,000 mcg., Vit. B-6 100 mg., Selenium 100 mcg., Calcium + D 1,200 mg., Iron 250 mcg., and Vit. C 3,000 mg. Is there any one tablet that comes close to providing these nutrients in these proportions? ## Since most vitamins are over the counter products, there isn't a database that lists all of them and their ingredients. What I'd like to suggest is asking a pharmacist. They usually have a good idea of what's available and can point you in the right direction. Did a doctor say it must be these specific dosages?

My prescription container has two difference colors ( red & light pink, tablets, and no markings, How am I suppose to Know what a Vitamin B12 looks like? It could be a Vitamin C pill? How do you tell the Difference ?Teddy ## There really is no way to tell the difference between most vitamin pills, as the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, so there could be many, many pills on the market that could meet that physical description. Did you order these Vitamins from a reputable company here in the U.S.? I wouldn't mind recommending a few highly reputable brand names for B12 or vitamins in general if you need any assistance with that. I hope this helps! ## My prescription for B-12 is a round pink pill with no markings as well. They were by ...

can i use this to help me concentrate while studying? ## Hi mary, My research leads me to believe that B vitamins can help to improve focus and concentration. I've personally used Vitamin B 12 trans dermal patches, which were quite effective and gave me a great boost of energy. Trans dermal patches can be better when taking certain vitamins because 95% or more of the active ingredients get distributed straight into the blood stream. Sorry about the health problems you're having. However, with a complicated medical history, as well as the fact that I'm sure you're taking other medications, I can only tell you that it's best to check with your doctor, before taking anything else. Thank you. ## Hi Muneca22, If you're looking to gain weight, vitamins can be a great way to help supplement your nutrient intake, providing energy, as well as improving absorption of the foods you eat. However, I think It might be a good idea to have blood work done first in order to determine whether you have any nutrient deficiencies - that way you can know without a doubt what specific nutrient(s) your body is lacking in. A standard multivitamin could probably suffice in terms of replacing deficiencies, but from my experience, raw vitamins and minerals derived from whole fruits/vegetables tend to be best since they are no...

The best thing I can recommend would be asking a doctor, or pharmacist/chemist to suggest a complete multivitamin that would be good for her to take. Does it seem she isn't growing to her full potential? ## I reckon, her growth is slow. i would like her to take to help grow more.
