oblong white watson 349 ## THIS IS A NARCOTIC!!! THIS IS NOT VISTARIL! And taking it as such would be VERY DANGEROUS! THIS IS A NARCOTIC!!! This tablet contains Acetaminophen 500mgs and Hydrocodone 5mgs, this is a generic for Vicodin! This is a very potent narcotic analgesic. This is used to treat moderate to severe chronic pain. It can cause many side effects and has high addictive potential. So this IS NOT VISTARIL and is in now way relate to it and acts in the body in a completely different way!!! ## LOL! Hope I made the warning clear enough! ;-) I have also removed the incorrect response to avoid any confusion in the future from others who may read this post. They were correct on what Vistaril can be used for, but this is not even close to being the same type of medication.

I am out of my visteril and can't get it refilled, is there anything I can take to help take the place to help with the side effects of withdrawal ? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Have you discussed it with your doctor? They may be able to refill it and help you. There are some antihistamines available over the counter, such as Diphenhydramine and Meclizine, but they aren't as potent and effective as Vistaril, which is why it's a prescription only medication. They may also cause side effects, as listed by the FDA, that may possibly include dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

round white 0027 lacerated v ## THIS IS NOT VISTARIL!! This tablet is Acetaminophen 325mgs, a generic or store brand of regular strength Tylenol. ## vistaril is not acetaminiphen. Vistaril is a prescription anti-emetic which treats nausea and vomiting and is sometimes used for sedative effects to help people with addiction issues sleep. ## Vistaril (Visteril) is an antihistamine. Vistaril is used for anxiety, allergy symptoms, and preventing or treating nausea and vomiting. It is often used with other medications like Demerol, to prevent or treat nausea and/or vomiting.

prescribed fpr anxiety/panic attacks ## i as prescribed this after surgery to help with itching{from narcotics},nausea etc..my doc said it was somewhat simular to benedryl. it did help and didnt make me feel weird ...hope this helps.

I was taking vistaril and failed a drug test for benzo. I was just wondering if it can show up as benzo? I need proof for court and dont know what to do. ## Yes, vistaril has some similarities with benzos. Vistaril however is prescribed for itchiness, sleep as well as mild anxiety. Although they are two separate drugs, both benzos and vistaril share a very common chemical structure which may cause a drug test to read vistaril as a benzo.
