Is anything out there to help/ ## Vioxx was the only drug that relieved my arthritis pain. Since it's off the market now, my doctor prescribed MOBIC, but after taking it 4-1/2 mos., on May 12th, I hemorrhaged severly and ended up in the hospital for 11 days; lost 15 lbs., had many blood transfusions, and was basically bedridden until mid-July. It's has caused several other medical problems, a few that even required surgery! I'm still fighting the battle, and my doctor says it will be a year before I'll get over this. Ultracet doesn't seem to relieve osteoarthritis pain; neither does Tylenol for Arthritis. I have a hard time sleeping, and Tylenol PM doesn't seem to do much for that. My doctor says I cannot take Ibuprophen, Aspirin, or any anti-inflamatories. But I...

This is a 25mg Vioxx tablet, which contain the active ingredient Rofecoxib a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that has been withdrawn from the market due to serious safety concerns. Vioxx really helped me when I was on it. Do you think they will ever bring it back on the market. Or is there another drug that works as good.I am allergic to Daypro and Cataflam. Any one have any ideals?? ## Is the perscription drug Vioxx now available for consumer purchase? My husband took vioxx and says that it worked better for him then anything he has been on since the recall. ## I haven't found anything that works as well as Vioxx. I am currently taking Mobic but not getting the relief I got from Vioxx. It's short-lived and not as effective. Any news of another promising med for osteoarthritis?

I was on Vioxx for 4 years, it worked for my knees. Then they pulled it off the market. I was prescribed 1000 mg of Relafen. After a week or so I got severe stomach pain and ultimately went into kidney failure. Is this a common side effect? ## It is listed as being a very rare possible side effect of Relafen, it has happened in less than 0.01% of people that have taken it, according to FDA reports. REF: MedLine Plus Nabumetone Other side effects may include nausea, headache, stomach irritation, and liver damage. Is that the only medication you were taking? Have they definitively attributed it to the medication?

SMALL,AND ROUND LIKE THE BACK END OF AN INK PEN, ABOUT 3 MM THICK ## Is it by any chance an orangish color? I think you have a Vioxx 25 mg. If you can check this picture to verify. Hope this helps. ## One other thing to note - if it is a Vioxx, that med has been banned by the FDA in the U.S. and I believe also in Canada. ## The information that Barry provided is correct. The tablet with the MRK 110 marking was 25mg Vioxx tablet. NDC: 00006-0110, and it is no longer available in the U.S. Merck withdrew if from the market in 2004, due to the fact that it was found to increase the risk of experiencing a heart attack, or stroke, with long-term use. Ref: Vioxx Withdrawal Information The risk was still considered to be small, but they felt it best to pull it from the market, due to the fact ...

My pediotrist put me on 375 mg. of naproxin....it has relieved my arthritic pain 90%...can one stay on this drug very long???? I would like to stay on it forever!! since they took vioxx off the mkt. I am in constant pain. Thanks Addie ## My mother has been on this for years and now has kidney problems. Her kidney is only working 28% which is very bad. I would talk to my Dr. about taking this for any length of time. ## NSAIDS taken over long periods of time can be dangerous. For arthritis one can take glucosamine and tart cherries (Montmorency Cherries) which have natural anti-inflammatory properties.

A time releasing patch for pain/.525mg .wprm fpr 72 hours. Does this have coedine in it? ## No, no codeine, though it is a narcotic from a related opiate family. Duragesic is actually the name of the drug. This is actually 80 times stronger than morphine, and these patches cannot be used more frequently than every 48 hours at the prescribed dosage. They are generic for Fentanyl patches. Fentanyl Info Click Here ## These patches were prescribed by my doctor for all over body arthritis pain and fibromyalgia, since there are no arthritis drugs on market I can take. I was on vioxx and Bextra for years, but no longer. I also take Mobic, 2 Darvocets per day, but the patches cause severe itching, which is why I am asking about the codiene content. I had to remove the patch. Are you sure they a...
