I am taking Novomix30, 12 units and 8 units in the morning and night respectively along with VildaGliptin 50mg and Metformin 500 mg in the morning and night (two times) regularly. My blood sugar was 8.3(fasting)before taking this medication. Before this medication I was under treatment of Metformin 500mg once daily and low dose of Novomix30. But after the new medication prescribed the doctor I have been suffering severe dehydration which is taking away all strength. The recent dose of medication also tuned myself into a hypoglycemic. I think, my new medication is excessive according to my needs. First time when I started my diabetic treatment about 50 days ago, my fasting blood glucose was 12.7. Please suggest your opinion over my new doses of medication. My other parameters of Lipid pr...

Hello, My doctor prescribed me Zomelis Met 50mg/500mg (Vildagliptin 50mg & Metformin 500mg) for my diabetes. The same doctor prescribed Galvus 50mg/500mg to my mother and the same doctor prescribed Glycomet to my wife. I am very confused about all three medicines. Can u please confirm the differences between Vildagliptin and these other medications mentioned above?

CAN GALVAS 50MG BE PRESCRIBED IN CONJUNCTION WITH NOVOMIX 24 UNITS BD AND AT WHAT DOSAGE ## Hi Ian, Information I've gathered states that Galvus (vildagliptin) can be combined with other anti-diabetic drugs. It mentioned Metformin being one of those drugs, but does not go into great detail about which other ones are fine to take as well. Because NovoMix contains Insulin and I've read details stating how taking "Vildagliptin 50 mg twice daily exhibited efficacy when added to insulin in a 24 week study", I can only assume that they may be alright to take together; but you would have to discuss proper dosing with your doctor. I hope this helps!
