Hello I was on effexor xr 75 mg for 5 years then went to celexa 20mg for a month. Then decided to go cold turkey lasted 2 months. Psychiatrist put me on 20mg of prozac which almost drove me crazy lasted 2 weeks. Then started viibryd 10mg for 2 weeks felt really dizzy and wobbly on my legs.. I also feel when I close my eyes I'm on a rocking boat. I'm currently on 5mg i got changed psychiatrist and he mentioned viibryd is not on his list of medications so I might be switched again. Part of me feels like it could still be withdrawals from effexor... any help would be greatly appreciated ## Hello, Henry! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problems that you've been having. After several months, you shouldn't be experiencing withdrawals from the Effexor, they don...

I have been on viibryd for one pack. I just refilled the 40 for the.next time. At the beginning it was good until I got to 40.now all I do is cry all day long every day. I pray and pray for the crying to go away. I want off viibryd asap. What is the best wayto go?. I could taper a little or a lot because I haven't been on it that long. And then just stay on the Xanax. What does anyone think? ## Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. Although I would personally suggest that your doctor be the one who monitors you...

How can I stop taking 10 mg viibryd ## How long have you been taking it? It does contain Vilazodone, which is a type of antidepressant, so if you've been taking it for awhile, it may be necessary for you to taper off. However, if you've only been on it for a short time, then you should be able to just stop taking it. Learn more Viibryd details here. Are you experiencing problems from taking it? ## I've been on 10mg of Viibryd for 7 days and 20mg for 2 days. The side effects are intolerable. Is it safe to just stop this early on or would it be less agonizing to take one every other day for a few days? ## I don't know if Viibryd is right for me. I am on 10mg which I have been taking for about 6 weeks. I feel hopeless. I feel overwhelmed with life. I struggle sometimes to g...

(This is a bit long but please read it!) Long story short: Ive been a long term sufferer of panic disorder and agoraphobia. Been homebound 3 times in my life. Been on several different medications over the years. Was prescribed Celexa about 7 years ago and while it wasnt perfect for fixing my problem it came close. I was able to marry, start a successful business and live a pretty normal life! Fast forward to around last November. I started having problems with having panic attacks, panic type feelings when out. This got worse and eventually I started feeling sick and having attacks at home and in the night. This went on and got worse and worse until this past April when I finally bit the bullet and when into the my Dr. At that point I was shaking uncontrollably and completely eat up wi...

rash on face, cheeks and forehead ## Just finished my third week on Viibryd been on 40 mgs for four days and now have a red rash on my face. Should I stop taking it? ## It may be the sign of an allergic reaction, but since it's isolated to your face, it's difficult to say. Have you contacted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, so you can discover if it's due to the medication or something else. You can learn more Viibryd details here. ## I have a dr appt on friday. Don't know what to try if he takes me off this. ## I have been on Viibryd since Aug 23 2012. I am weaning off the Viibryd now after seeing a dermatologist and making the connection of starting the Viibryd, then itching. After looking back at a diary I had been keeping, I realized that minor itchin...

Unexpected amount of Rage. I wanted to hurt someone very badly. I have never experienced Rage like this before, and I have struggled with Depression and PTSD for over 30 years. Nothing else in my life has changed except being changed to Viibryd. Nothing related to my PTSD triggered the rage. It came suddenly, unexpectedly and today (the next day), I'm exhausted and sore. I'm assuming from all the adrenaline that was running throughout my body. ## I've been taking Viibryd 40 mg for 7 weeks. I got through the loose stools side effect stage. It finally started working a little, except for the RAGE. It's really scary. I'm stopping starting tomorrow and going back to a regular SSRI like Lexapro. ## I find it really interesting how a medication that's being marketed fo...

I just picked up my sample pack of Vii, any recommendations on when the best time to take it is....morning or night and is with food a necessary need? Just a little nervous always am when trying something new....you would think I'd be used to it by now but side effects are NEVER fun but I'm hoping in the long run it's worth it. ## With SP I have found it is MUCH better to take before bed, IMO. Be sure to take with food! I would not skip or even be a few hours late between doses. This is one thing I am watching, besides caffeine intakes as the cause of sleep paralysis. Defintely do not skip. I know the half life is relatively short, but for me i think it could be a side effect if I skip or am late. ## It's really a matter of finding what works best for you. it may cause n...

i have been on viibryd since the middle of july. my doctor only wanted me on 20mg. gave me the starter pack. was feeling great, but then after time i noticed that my anxiety in the morning when i woke up was enormous. i felt like i had to take the viibryd immediately to get it in my system. the anxiousness was overwhelming. called my doctor and he suggested to take 10mg in the morning and 10mg with dinner. started that today and feel a little better. the nightmares on viibryd have been disturbing. dreams of being in a plane crash seemed so real that when i woke up i was screaming. hoping that this all goes away or i am off this medicine in 2 weeks. i wish i stayed feeling good on it as i did in the beginning. the only medicine that ever worked for me was paxil cr (extended release), how...

Hi all...I'm now on Day 6 of Viibrd 10mg starter pack. My headaches have gone way, thank goodness, and no migraines! I did have one horrible day of "tummy issues" but that seems to be going away too. I'm worried that once I switch to the 20 mg of Viibryd that will happen again..and it's miserable especially when you work in an office like me. I feel good moodwise, however, and no other side effects. I stop the half Celexa pill on Wednesday so I am sort of worried about that. The last time I forgot a pill I got the brain zaps. ## Whattype of stomach issues did you have? It was nausea, pain or bloating, there might be something you can take to help minimize them. Going to start it tomorrow. Anyone else taking it, and if so, how do you like it? Thanks! ## Started taking it on 07-13. Coming off of Effexor and Lexapro. ## Thanks, and keep me updated on how you feel. I take Welbutrin and am adding this med. Used to take Lexapro with the Welbutrin, but it just make me feel like nothing, so I got off it. Hopefull, and from what I have read, this is a lot better!! ## Will do! Am very hopeful as well. Lot of anxiety during the transition, but I think that's the Effexor getting out of my system. ## I have never taken it, but can provide a little information about it. It contains the active ingredient Vilazodone and it is approved for the treatment of major depressive disorder. Unlike similar medications, it has been shown to help in as little as one ...

Do I need to wean off Viibryd if I only took for 2 weeks? My anxiety is through the roof and I'd rather just go back to Paxil and deal with the weight gain. Can I just switch back without issues or do I need to taper down the 20 mg of Viibryd like when I started it? ## I need to know the same thing been on Viibryd 3 weeks Panic is intense can’t handle it I think I felt better on paxil ## Our bodies all are subject to respond differently to quitting cold-turkey or tapering off something like Viibryd 2-3 weeks into treatment. However, working closely with your prescribing doctor on a tapering plan is probably the safest method for quitting, in my own humble opinion, especially if you don't know whether it's deemed necessary or not and are left undecided on a specific app...

Okay so ive been taking viibryd for about 5 days now. I was on celexa for 10 years before this and have been experimenting different medicines the past couple weeks to find someone to avoid weight gain and other side effects. This medicine really works well for mood. However, the past 5 days ive been experiencing headaches and nausea as well as having a difficult time sleeping. Im hoping those side effects go away soon though. I have high hopes for this medicine. I also experienced a bit of gas and going to the bathroom more. (nothing too excessive) . I've felt a bit light headed at times though and my vision is ever so slightly blurrier. This medicine definitely must be taken with food... my appetite hasn't been too consistent either. I seem to be very sensitive to medicines th...

Can I take .25 Xanax 20 minutes after taking 20mg of viibrdy? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. Have they both been prescribed for you? The FDA warns that Xanax carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

After discontinuing Viibryd, has anyone noticed their hair NOT becoming thick again? I've been on 60 mg for about 8 months. My hair is now falling out by the handfuls.. I have an appointment to see my dr. next week but I'm terrified my hair won't grow back! Not to sound self centered or shallow but I adore my hair! Had I of known this was a side effect I'd never agreed to try this medication. I'm terrified, as I've already stated, but I am also angry that this information isn't given by drug reps who push these meds! I pay 277$ a month for this RX & now have to worry about withdrawals, my hair possibly not growing back & adjusting to a new medication. Any replies are welcome & will be appreciated! ## Hello, Amanda! How are you? I'm very sorry ...

I'm 28 and was taken off welbutrin and buspirone and put on viibryd 40mg I was not dosed up BC I was already on the others. I have hard horrible headaches, more anxiety, muscle pain, sleeplessness, more frequent bowel movements (which I am greatful for), cravings for sweets and have gained 5lbs over the past two weeks :( I don't know what else to do the old meds only helped me concentrate. But did little to nothing for my anxiety and depression. ## Hi, Ashely! Sorry about the problems you're having. Side effects such as this may be experienced any time you start a new medication, or increase the dosage of an existing one. They can last for about 4 to 6 weeks, then they will usually start to taper off as your body has a chance to adjust. However, if the headaches are that sev...

My family physician prescribed 80 mg of Viibryd every day. Was this safe? ## Hello, Penny! How are you? The target dose is usually anywhere from 20mgs to 40mgs a day, with it being slowly titrated up, however, there are some conditions that may warrant a higher dosage. What condition is being treated? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes.

I am 29 and have been dealing with depression and anxiety since I was 15. I have been on and off everything and it seems to work for a few months and then I get no benefit from it even with increased doses. In 2008 I started passing out or becoming unresponsive for a few seconds up to 15 minutes. They told me I was having non epileptic seizures due to stress. It was a stressful time in my life. I saw a psy and went on cymbalta and things seemed to improve but they never went away. Then they thought it was migraine related and I went on topamax and things seemed to improve. I went off cymbalta and stayed on topamax and things were the same. Then I went off everything and had been doing well until a few months ago. I first noticed it while I was driving I felt like I was going to be hit o...

I have tried several anti-depressants and have yet to feel better. Started with Xanax years ago but only took it for a little while. Didn't take anything for 20 years. Now within the last two years I have tried Effexor, prozac, welbutrin and now viibryd. Only been on it for 3 weeks and still feel crappy. Mood is ok but so fatigued that I about can't go. I had an episode 9/13 where I became unresponsive and then was just in and out. I felt drugged and numb. Had weened off prozac and started viibryd. After spending 4 hrs in ER and having blood and urine evaluated and X-rays the dr said he thinks it may have been a reaction because of prozac was still in system. I actually thought I was going to die. I really don't believe the way I feel has anything to do with medication. Oh w...

I was on zoloft 150MG I have been on it for 10 years didn't seem to be working as well so switched to celexa it made things worse. So then put on viibryd been on it almost 6 wks I am having more anxiety and very emotional cry a lot over little things does this get better ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? IF it's been 6 weeks, then this one likely isn't working for you, either. Typically, it should reach its full therapeutic effect in your body between 4 to 6 weeks and that's when you should start to see improvement. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, anxiety, dry mouth and weight changes. Have you contacted your doctor? You'll likely need to switch to another medication.
