I had both rotor cuffs removed 4 yrs ago been on 750 Vicodin would like to get off of them, will Ultram help? ## I really don't think that Ultram will help. The reason for this is because it contains the active ingredient Tramadol. While Tramadol is listed as just a centrally active analgesic, this has changed several times and been under severe debate. When it was being investigate, the developers were trying to create a medication that would work like a narcotic, but not have the side effects and the addictive nature, however, what they achieved was actually the opposite. I was just wondering what the effects of this pain pill are. Are they similiar to vicodin or norcos? ## I was on Ultraset in the past for a herniated disk. However, it does have some habit forming potential and can cause side effects similar to those of narcotics, such as nausea, d...

What is stronger and how do these 2 drugs compare.....10/325 hydrocodone vs. tramadol 50 mg ## You really can't compare them, since they aren't in the same drug classes. The Hydrocodone in the Vicodin/Lortab is a potent narcotic analgesic. But the Tramadol is just a centrally acting analgesic, though it is derived from an opiate, it is nowhere near as strong and effective as the opiate narcotic class. Both can be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
