My Doctor gave me a prescription for shoulder pain. 5-500 Vicodin. My Druggist gave me Mallinckrodt. One tablet affected me with a side affect. I tried another tablet in two days later, the same side affect. I felt like I had a cup of coffee jitters. I don't drink coffee as caffeine affects me. What is the 'filler' used in Mallinckrodt Vicodine?

I was at a party and my friend took some Vicodin and now she is throwing up and has stomach pains. She took 600 mg and I don't know what to do.....help! ## 600mg? So she took 120 pills? They are 5 mg each, the strongest is 10 mg. I would bet that someone gave her something else. Do you know what it looked like? ## I know this is an old post - I hope your friend is ok now. She must have taken Vicodin HP 660 mg Acetaminophen w/ 10 mg Hydrocodone. Anytime side effects like this arise it is considered critical that the affected person be rushed to the hospital. It's really going to depend on various factors, such as their overall health, other medications they may be taking and their sensitivity to such medications. I first took Vicodin about 20 years ago and I noticed that it made me fell like I thought I should feel if I was "normal". It wasn't a high or a buzz. It just brought my mood and focus up to a level where I thought it should be. I have brought it up to my doctors in the past and they just kind of shrug their shoulder. I'm 50 years old, taking 60mg Adderall & Citalopram each, day but it doesn't work as well as Vicodin. My inability to focus and lack of energy has affected my life drastically and it's become very serious in terms of finding & keeping a job and my health. Also, I'm aware of the addiction dangers but that is not an issue. I take a Vicodin maybe 2 or 3 times a month for back pain. What I'm trying to find out is if anybody else is aware...

I have fibromyalgia...4 yrs. now...After 2 days of dexilant DR. 60 mg. I had pain all over my body... Is this similar to Vicodin or norcos? Does it give you the same feeling/affect? Does it have narcotics in it? Is it considerate a opiate? ## Does it have ip 190 on one side and 500 on the other, white oblong ? If it does it is 500 mg Naproxen. Naproxen is a nonsterodial anti-inflammatory. It is the same medication that is in Aleve over the counter, except the mg is higher in prescription Naproxen. It is not a narcotic or opiate. It does not contain the same medication as Vicodin or Norco.

I have Hep. C and my Dr. still prescribes to me Vicodin. Isn't this bad for my liver? What pain pill affects the liver least? There are very, very few that aren't. When prescribing something, your doctor has to consider the risks and the benefits, there really isn't anything or a narcotic nature for pain that will be processed less through your liver. I Started Butrans 10mg. patches & Nurotin 2 weeks ago. I was on Vicodin for years and only took it 2x's a day. Once in the am and then at bed time. I stopped taking the Vicodin cold turkey because I didn't think I would have any problems. I have been so sick with nausea, headache, dizziness,and fatigue. Is it dangerous to take generic Vicodin ES after it has expired? I have an old prescription and was just wondering what might happen.
