Vicodin is a combination medication that contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, it is available as the name brands Vicodin, Lortab and Norco, as well as being available as a generic. These pills look like they might be really old. They are huge not like other pain meda. By taking once a day for severe back pain - will you become addicted to them. ## Vicodin pills can come in various shapes and colors regardless of dosage (It depends on the manufacturer you are talking about). The most common look I have seen for this pill is probably white and oblong with a score line on one side. I don't know how many different manufacturers make Vicodin, but if you can provide the name of the one in question I can possibly look it up on their website and let you know the description. I took a vicodin 5 at around 11 sm at around 1 pm I went to take another vicodin but picked up the wrong bottle (my husband had surgery and his dr gave him percocet). Since they looked the same, I didn't think about it until I put the bottle away and noticed my husband's name on it. The percocet is 7.5. I only got three hours of sleep last night, so I don't know the reason why I am so lathargic. I also have hypokalemia due to medication, so my system is very sensative. So I was diagnosed with Shingles last week and was initially prescribed Vicodin for the pain by Urgent Care. In 6 days blew through the 20 Vicodin due to the pain being unreal. I called my PCP and they upgraded the prescription to Percocet 5-325 because the Vicodin was simply not working. The Urgent Care doctor called me and said no don't take the Percocet, take 600mg of Ibuprofen instead and if that doesn't show relief then they said to try Gabapentin. Between the Valtrex and Vicodin I've had extremely minimal side effects, mainly just drowsiness fortunately. I'm confused as to how 600mg of Ibuprofen is supposed to do what Vicodin couldn't do over 56 days 5-6 times a day? Go to walmart the prices are better, more like .50 each. ## Sorry you had such a frustrating experience. The reason most places don't list prices for any controlled substance is due to the risk of theft, they don't actually want to put it out there and have people know whether or not they carry them. However, from what I'm finding, the current price for the 5/325 tablets runs about 60cents each on average, of course that will vary from area to area, but you should be looking for a pretty cheap price if you're just getting 10 of them. I had a total shoulder replacement and my doctor gave me Percocet to go home with. They immediately took the pain away for about 4-5 hours.
