For many years I've sufferd from Fibro pain and for many years I've taken the generic Watson, which was just fine Now every couple of months the pharmacy changes the generic brand and I've had an incredibly rough time and suffered through the different brands, some are just crap, the pharmacist recommends ti ask the doc to write, Vicodin brand only on the script, this makes perfect sense, but says my insurance may not cover this, Is this truley the best route and dose anyone have suggestion s on the best Watson's or others? I am currently on the 7.5/325. ## Your Dr can write the rx for the brand and specify on the rx to dispense as written no.generic substitutions allowed. Trying to confirm that the tablet I have is generic Vicodin. It is white with a score mark on one side and the inscription 176. ## Sun Pharmaceuticals lists this tablet as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a narcotic analgesic. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. oval v printed one side and the other side 3592 ## The V is a manufacturer's logo, it is not indicative of what the tablets contain. However, Vicodin does contain Hydrocodone, and Acetaminophen, and the tablet with the V 3592 marking is listed as having contained 5mgs of Hydrocodone, and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, but this was changed several years to containing only 325mgs of Acetaminophen, due to new FDA regulations. No dose of combined opiate medications can contain more 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dose. NDC: 00603-3881 Thus, the tablets with the 500mgs of Acetaminophen are no long available. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. ## Are Vicodin and Hy...

I have been on these for awhile but now,it is and oval and has a big V on one side and the numbers 35/98 ## Yes, this is just another generic for the same thing, these ones are made by Vintage/Qualitest Pharmaceuticals, the dosage is 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 660mgs of Acetaminophen. ## what do you request if you are allergic to yellow dye and these have a orange tint, I had a light receation, then stoped till I could get in them in a white form. Why so hard for RX to get in white ? ## Not hard at all, they are available in white, yellow, orange, blue, and a whole rainbow of colors, it just depends which company made them. What you need to do, is go in and explain to the pharmacist you allergy problems. Most pharmacies simply carry the cheapest one they can find in their providers list of...

I have a pill that has the imprint PH 073 on one side and is blank on the other. It is a white oblong shape is this a generic vicodin? ## No, it is not Vicodin, this company makes over the counter products. Could it possibly be an 073? We have discovered that tablet to be 400mgs of Guaifenesin, a generic or store brand of Mucinex. If it really is PH 073, then it is also more than likely an oTC item, which would explain why it's not in any databases and also why poison control didn't know what it is. OTC items are not required to have their markings logged by the government. You can see several threads about the one with the PH 063 marking here: If you are certain it is 073, then there is a good chance it contains this same ingredient, but is a higher dosage, though, at this time...

How can I the generic Vicodin. I want my RX to state "generic for Vicodin" It used to say, Hydrocodone/Apap 5/500. Now when I get my refills it says Hydroco/Apap generic for Norco? Told they are the same so why do I need to take the Norvo in larger doses (2 pills each time) to get the same relief from one generic Vicodin? There must be something my Dr is writing on the prescription that causes this to occur. Thank you for your help ## Hello, Grandma52! How are you? Vicodin actually contained more Acetaminophen than the Norco does, it was available with amounts including 500mgs and over. However, last year, all of the tablets with the higher doses of it were removed from the market. Thus, Vicodin and its generics are no longer available. The maximum dose of Acetaminophen availabl...

Vicodin ES ## Hello, The generic for any Vicodin would be a combination of Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. I have found a generic Vicodin from Watson laboratories that contains (750 mg) of Acetaminophen and (7.5 mg) of Hydrocodone-just like the Vicodin ES. It is a white elliptical/oval pill with the imprint WATSON 387 on the front and a score/line on the back. Also- Just in case you're not aware- if a medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to be allowed to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient. There may be 1 pill with 100% of the active ingredient, but the rest may be a lot weaker. National Drug Code (NDC): 00591-0387 You can learn more about this drug on the page for Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone I hope this helps! Please post back if ...

I have a Rx of Vic's for 5/325. They r the vintage Qualitest brand. What I find odd is they r oblong white with little pink speck in them. ## That is just something that was done to help distinguish their pills from the others that are on the market, they are just added specks of color and nothing to worry about. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Oblong pill marked Watson 387 and scored on the other side. Also smaller oblong marked Watson 359 and scored. Are these hydrocodone? ## Hello, Bill! How are you? Watson Pharmaceuticals lists the one with the 387 marking as containing 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 750mgs of Acetaminophen, this one is no longer manufactured, because the FDA mandated that the dose of Acetaminophen in all combination medications be lowered to no more than 325mgs per dose. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to the other tablet, there is nothing listed with 359 on it. Can you please double check the imprint and post back? Thank you!

I was given these in a clinic in Vancouver B.C. They looked like es Vic.but no writing at all.just a line on one side nothing on the other.extremely hard 2 break in half,& they were light pink inside.terrible taste. ## Hi Ana, While it may be true that different manufacturers have quality control issues, I don't think there should be any reason to believe that they're counterfeit, if you were given these by a doctor/pharmacist at a clinic. Did they inform you that this was Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen or what is it that led you to assume it was? From an outside perspective, this could literally be anything if there are no markings to identify it by. However I've never ever heard of licensed pharmacies dispensing fake pills. Perhaps it wasn't stored properly, causing the...

It is generic lorcet 10-650. Just picked up a script. About the same as lortab 10, norco 10. And has less acetaminophen than vicodin. ## No, it doesn't have less Acetaminophen, considering this has one of the highest doses of it that's presently available in these combination medications, so I'm not sure who told you that. The most commonly prescribed doses of this narcotic medication contain 325mgs or 500mgs of Acetaminophen and this one has 650 mg. There is only one that's higher than this and it has 750mgs in it. However, what should be noted here is that soon all doses over 325mgs will be removed from the market in regards to these combination prescription products. Due to concerns about the dangers of organ damage or failure that can happen with long term use, as we...

Has lp on top 145 below it.told it was vicodin???the other side smoth.the pill is white n round. ## Hi tru, Most Vicodin/Norco pills I've come across are usually white oblong tablets, but this white round pill marked with IP 145 reportedly contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone bitartrate + 200mgs of Ibuprofen. It's NOT Vicodin/Norco, however I think the Ibuprofen may make for a good alternative for those who can't tolerate Acetaminophen, due to potential liver problems. The manufacturer is listed as Amneal Pharma. I hope this helps!
