I have been prescribed Vicodin 7.5 es for herniated disk in my neck and back. I got my prescription filled at Walmart and I got M360 pills. I find those ineffective. I took a Watson 387 before and found it works alot better. My question is, which other pharmacy fills the prescription with Watson 387. I would like to know so I can transfer my prescription. Thank you for any suggestions. ## There is really no way of knowing which generic any given pharmacy will have in stock at any given time, it can vary, depending on which company was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to reorder. Both of these are listed as containing 750mgs of Acetaminophen and 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone, but there can be fluctuations in the active ingredients from one generic to another, so that may be w...

Not a different drug Just LA. ## I've been suffering with strained-tight jaws for about the last 3 months. It's not medicine related, stress, or diet. I heard alot about TMJ years ago. Can TMJ start abruptley. I've tried using Skelaxin my muscle relaxant, but that doesn't help either. Is there any relief. What type of doctor should I approach? What medicine might help (over-the-counter or prescription). ## Myra, you should be able to get help from either your family doctor or a dentist. TMJ doesn...

I received vicodin es from over seas...it is a plain black capsule with no markings. Is it really vicodin, or a fake? ## Since there are no markings on the pill, it's going to be difficult to determine what this tablet contains, unless you would pay to have it lab tested, somewhere. U.S. law requires that all prescription drugs have a unique imprint on the tablets or capsules so the medication can be identified by manufacturer, substance and dosage. However, the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, so there are many, many pills on the market, both over the counter and prescription that could meet that description. ## The black oblong capsules are in a blister pack marked Vicodin ES....Have you ever heard of this and is it the real thing? ## ...

I was told in January by my pharm. that they were not being made anymore. I can not find a Pharm. in my area that sells this med. produced by any company. Please let me know if you have any info. ## I just got told the same thing and also live in SoCal. ## I live outside of SFO. Walgreen's is not carrying it. I will be trying CVS tomorrow. ## Unable to find brand name at this date. I’m taking Oxymorphone 5mg five times a day and it’s barely relieving my low back, neck & sciatica pain anymore. My problem is I have Kaiser Permanente insurance. Ever since the Opioid Crisis, the Pain Management Dept. protocol is to get every patient OFF ALL OPIOIDS. However, my Primary Care Doctor is much more sympathetic & is in charge of prescribing my pain medications. She has tried to help & support from other departments to no avail. Do you think Vicodin ES could be added to my Oxymorphone regimen? I found some old Vicodin ES & have been cutting them in half, & taking them with my Oxymorphone 5mg on really rough days. When my Worker’s Comp Doctor was treating me for this injury, before the WC Insurance stopped treating me, he sometimes had me...

Can you tell me doctors or clinics in Saint Paul,MN that don't mind prescribing vicodin ? ## Unfortunately no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not just on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). In regards to finding a local pain doctor though, I have listed below a couple websites specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellne...

Is Vicodin 750 considered a downer like Xanax? ## No, Vicodin is the exact same chemical make up of Lortab. It is Hydrocodone and Acetaminaphen, which is a narcotic analgesic (a pain killer). I take Lortab for FMS pain, They do not make me tired, they actually make me feel upbeat, but I do not know if that is because the pain is gone or if it is because it is an opiate. Most narcotic analgesics are opiates which means they bind opiate receptors in your spinal cord so you sense pain differently, they also give some people a sense of uphoria, which is why they are habit forming. Please be careful. ## While you are stating the correct ingredients, narcotics, are in essence considered downers. Normal side efffects of narcotic pain killers are drowsiness and respiratory depression. They do n...

This is going to sound a little crazy. I am a retired physical therapist. At 59 years old i have been very active in sports from a young age. Needless to say I have treated just about every injury that can occur in the human body over the years. Most required pain meds to endure p.t. I have always been interested in mma, so i decided to move to las vegas and train at the major gyms there. BAD mistake! After 4 years of training I was busted up. osteoarthritis and degeneration took place on a whole new level. I started taking vicodin for my shoulder, then my hip, and now for both knees. I don't even want to mention my spine. Vicodin was a huge blessing in the beginning, especially in combo with hrt. It allowed me to fight and train. It gave me energy and endurance (not typical). I hav...

Vicodin ES ## Hello, The generic for any Vicodin would be a combination of Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone. I have found a generic Vicodin from Watson laboratories that contains (750 mg) of Acetaminophen and (7.5 mg) of Hydrocodone-just like the Vicodin ES. It is a white elliptical/oval pill with the imprint WATSON 387 on the front and a score/line on the back. Also- Just in case you're not aware- if a medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to be allowed to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient. There may be 1 pill with 100% of the active ingredient, but the rest may be a lot weaker. National Drug Code (NDC): 00591-0387 You can learn more about this drug on the page for Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone I hope this helps! Please post back if ...

I take 10 mg hydrocodone daily. I binge drank Saturday night and have been sick in bed with a tremendous hangover for 3 days. Anyone else experienced this? ## Well, mixing alcohol with prescription drugs is NEVER a good idea, it can enhance the side effects and cause exactly what you're experiencing, especially with a narcotic such as Hydrocodone. It is possibly it's been caused by something else, but highly doubtful. Have you tried consulting your doctor? ## Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Tylenol). Some people take Vicodin and drink alcohol to intensify the effect of the hydrocodone. Unfortunately, mixing alcohol and acetaminephin WILL lead to liver damage and eventual liver failure (cirrhosis), which is often fatal. There are warnings on Tylenol or ...

I'm 7 months pregnant and recently got out of the hospital because I had a Nhefrostamy tube placed in my kidneys n still have it in me I have severe pain every day my OB prescribed me oxcycodine 10 mg she said I could take two at the same time but the she switched me to vicodine 500 mg is it safe for me to take two? Because one doesn't work?? Please I need a quick answer ? ## Hi, Esmeralda! Are you feeling any better? When it comes to something like this and your pregnancy, you really need to consult your doctor. The health of your kidneys could play a role here, as well as the fact that you're pregnant and any other medications you may be taking. It's just really not a good idea for someone online with such limited information to give you a definitive answer in such a s...

I believe that a dear friend of mine is possibly addicted to Vicodin. Probably it is really hard for her to just come off it, but maybe by switching to another med or weening off is the thing to do. I notice that Lorcet also has Hydrocodone in it, but maybe it is not as addicting as Vicodin? Do you think that maybe by starting on this drug instead she can start to come down off the habit? If anybody could offer any information I would appreciate it. Thanks, Ingrid ## Ingrid, please note that Lorcet is essentially the same drug as Vicodin, but with a different name. If your friend is really addicted to Vicodin then it is imperative that she seek medical assistance. Withdrawals from narcotics are said to be very unpleasant experiences! Vicidon ESis fourteen dollars a month for 150 pills. My Doc took me off vicidon because of the aspirin in it. I can't afford the oxycodone or others we've tried. Does anyone know of something I could recommend to my Doc that is in the same price range as vicodin? Thank you ## Vicodin ES doesn't contain Aspirin, it contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. And as to something that would be cheaper, the prices can vary from area to area and pharmacy to pharmacy, for instance, when I had an infected tooth and bought the lowest dose, generic Vicodin here, just 20 tablets cost me around $50, so you should check with your pharmacy, to get ideas and prices from your pharmacist. Does anyone else have any suggestions? ## Depending the dose that your physician gave you, the acetaminophe...

I have a bottle of liquid Vicodin that expired in 2010 will it still work for pain ## Hi Karina, I would Not chance taking any medication that has expired . Especially after 4 years. It's not recommended. It can lose its effect or just plain go bad. ## There's actually a lot of conflicting information around the topic of expired medication, but according to a Harvard Medical School family health article, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effe...
