need to find a doctor that treats pain uGK ## Hello, In regards to finding a local pain doctor, I posted below a couple webpages specific to locating pain management doctors and specialists in a given area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients. You may even want to follow up in person to get a real vibe for the doctor. From what others have stated, most doctors are pretty lenient when it comes to prescribing Vicodin as opposed to some of the other stronger narcotics; so I...

I am looking for a doctor that can prescribe Vicodin in sylva nc or candler nc I have sciatica problems and I am in horrible pain please help. ## Hello, Stephanie! How are you? If you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, then you will need to see a pain management specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. Additionally, all combination medications that contain Hydrocodone are going to be under more strict control as of early next month. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that would be the easiest way to find the help you need. Can anyone su...

I have been told by my doctors that they don't make vicodin 5.500 any more and keep giving me 5.325 but my neighbor has the same back injury and received 5.500 is the doctors office lieing to me ## Hello, Nick! How are you? In a way they are and in a way they aren't lying. And the reason I'm saying it that way is because the FDA has put out an official request to all prescription drug manufacturers to lower the amount of Acetaminophen in all of the combination medications to no more than 325mgs per dose. They did this, due to the fact that long-term use of high doses of Acetaminophen has the potential to result in liver damage or failure, plus there have been some overdose related fatalities, since many people thinks it's harmless and would take several tablets, at a tim...

I have experienced chronic, generalized pain due to Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, and various other maladies. I am only 55 years old and suffer from severe, advanced C.O.P.D. I have less than 30% usage of my lungs. I don't have long to live, so it is difficult to understand why these doctors are so paranoid re' prescribing!! I was prescribed Darvocet until it was removed from the market, and then placed on Vicodin. The Vicodin helped me enormously; pain free. I cannot take the medications approved by the FDA for Fibromyalgia (i.e., Lyrica, Cymbalta, etc.), as I experience adverse side effects. I was taken off of Vicodin due to physician's fear of prescribing such in the state of Florida. It was the only medication that alleviated my pain, and did not cause side...

white oblong tablet markings on one side m366 ## Hydrocodone bitartrate + Acetaminophen 7.5 mg / 325 mg (M366) by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals This is really generic Norco, and not generic Vicodin... The Vicodin strength closest to this is 7.5mg/750 mg ## That ID is correct, though since they contain the same ingredients, most doctors and pharmacists use Norco and Vicodin interchangably. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Read more: Are there any questions? ## I had surgery on the very top of my left leg bone from a bad staff infection abcessed. And was prescribed Norco and this Norco is a JOKE for a pain medication. I'm not looking for anything crazy just something like vicodin that will take the edge off when it gets severe. The only insurance I have right now is medi-cal so preferably a Dr that accepts that or isn't too expensive out if pocket. ## Since you're no longer a resident of Calif you won't be able to use Medical. You need to check the eligibility requirements for Ohio Medicaid and if you met them apply for Medicaid in Ohio. ## All doctors can..but I doubt you have a reason other than getting high. Otherwise you would have a Doctor and be under his care...quit trying to source out drugs on forums ## Plea...

Does anyone know of doctors in this area who might help me? ## National Spine and Pain Centers should have a clinic in your area. They do it all and one of my original PM specialists in Virginia is part of their corporation so I know they are humane. when I was first prescribed vicodin they were Watson, 349...then later 352 and then 357 and now 363 and 368. What do those numbers mean. The ones I felt that worked best were the 349 and 357 Watson. I may be wrong in the numbers (years have gone by since ) but I think I am right. What is the STRONGEST vicodin made and does COLOR OF PILL have any reference to the quality of the med ? or the number on it. ie: is a 368 stronger then a 357. why are they called LORTAB. when I first heard them called that, instead of vicodin I thought maybe they were ( placebo) to make me THINK they were vicodin but not really. finally! speaking of PLACEBO can doctors and pharmacies give placebo without notifying the patient, can they legally do that? ## Hi, Frenchy! I did explain a lot of this in response to...

Need relief from my back pain and my dr thinks I'm a junkie and won't give me any Vicodin even though I have told him ib800 r not working and it is limiting my ability at work. Do u know of a dr in story county, iowa that will give me Vicodin. ## I'm sorry, but if you're asking for a specific medication, most doctors are going to act like that. They are taught to view it as drug seeking behavior. Additionally, since the doctor is the one with the medical degree, they usually expect to be the one suggesting what medication you should try. Any doctor can prescribe Vicodin, but due to the new regulations and government reporting requirements they have to be very careful about doing so. What has your doctor suggested to treat your pain other than the Ibuprofen?

I was using one of the online face2face consults services but they can't find any more doctors for me to see, even out of state. I went to RI and NY but they aren't around anymore. I've had chronic knee pain after multiple surgeries, can't take NSAIDS, and injections last a week, if they can even get the needle into all the scar tissue. Looking for an understanding doc in MA or RI who will prescribe and not accuse me of being an addict ## Try Dr Jay Portnow in Brockton. He only works 3 days per week. Also heard that either the ER or a pain clinic at a hospital in New Bedford might.

I have had back pain for the last 4 weeks and have gone to the ER twice, i have taken x-rays and have paperwork that says i have back problems. The hospital they told me to follow up with will not prescribe me anything but motrin 800 yet i am still in pain. Does anyone know of any clinics in the Kalamazoo, MI. I am new to the area and refuse to go to the same doctors. ## Most clinics have so many people in and out that they are very reluctant to prescribe such medications, because a patient taking them should be monitored regularly. Do you have a regular family doctor that could refer you somewhere?

As a result of a jack failing my left hand got caught in a coil spring that compressed when the SUV came down. Had to call 911 for help. To make a long story short my wrist was fractured and my hand and fingers were crushed. For the next few days I was given Vicodin without much relief. My BP and other vital signs confirmed it wasn't working as the Doctors had hoped it would. So, they put me on Dilaudid and it gave me much more relief from the pain and I was able to sleep somewhat better. It surely improved my vital signs. In three days I'm due to have the first of several surgeries to reconstructive my left hand. ## The reason for that is that the Dilaudid is a much stronger med. Dialudid contains Hydromorphone, no Acetaminophen or anything. So you are getting a straight, stron...

Any names of doctors who will prescribe vicodin for degenerative disks in IN? ## Hello, Alex! How are you? There is no database of doctors that will prescribe any given medication. If you require such a medication on a long-term basis for chronic pain, you will most likely need to see a pain management specialist. Do you have a PCP that you see regularly? If so, then it would most likely be easiest to have them refer to you someone. Learn more Vicodin details here. ## I'm not sure where you are, but if you were in the UK you would definitely need a prescription. If you want to be treated or even just een quickly your best bet is to consult a private doctor. Sameday Doctor clinics will even provide a walk in service. ## You can find them at: samedaydoctor.co.uk

I have been addicted to hydrcodone for a year or more. how can i detox at home, even with a doctors assistance ## Hi Mark, Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. In my opinion, another key component to weaning off is to have your doctor make you a tapering schedule on a calendar in order track your progress and keep you on the right path to complete your goal within a specific time frame. Without a way to track your progress, tapering can sometimes be much more difficult than it needs to be. I hope this helps in any...

My wife has liver and pancreatic cancer. She has pain in her stomach as well as indigestion. Will Vicodin work better than Tylenol or is there something better? ## Hello, Kip! How are you and your wife? I'm sorry that she's in so much pain. The Vicodin is actually stronger, so if her doctors has prescribed it, she may want to try it, instead. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, there are also many other medications that she could try, such as Oxycodone, Opana and Dilaudid. All of which she could ask her doctor about. They carry the same risk and cause most of the same side effects as what I've already listed. NIH lists these, as well a...

I have been going to my doctor for several years he gives me pain medication for several conditions that I have. He agrees that I need a higher doses but refuses to give it to me. He said I need to go to a orthopedic doctor and let him give you a higher doses. Can I go to both for pain medication. One gives me Vicodin and one gives me percocet one is for pain and the other is break threw medicine what do you think. ## Hello, Pat! How are you? No, it is likely that your current doctor will stop prescribing and let your pain management be taken over by the new doctor. The FDA classifies this mediation as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I c...
