I have an abscessed tooth, and my dentist prescribed me vicodin 5/300. Every 4-6 hrs as needed. If one doesnt do the trick do you think it would be safe to take 1 and a 1/2 to 2 every 4-6 hrs as needed? ## It should be fine. Your tooth should stop hurting in 2-3 days and you'll have left overs anyways. Don't take more than you need though or we will see you back on here asking how to kick opiate addiction. I Took my prescription to a pharmacy to be filled and they said they couldn't fill it because that strength 10 325 doesn't exist anymore with Vicodin. They said the doctor should've made the prescription out for either 10/300 or Norco 10/325. I went to another chain pharmacy and they said there was no problem at all and they filled the prescription and said the law allowed them to generically fill the prescription with either Norco 10/325 or Vicodin 10/300 which ever they had available as long as it wasn't over 10/325. Wondering if it's safe to combine the two, 5/300 VICODIN and 800mg IBUPROFEN together? And if so, should I take them together at the same time or space them out? Having HORRIBLE migraines and muscle spasms. ## They can be taken together, if you have medical approval to take them both. is Norco 10—325 mg stronger than vicodin 7.5-300 mg? My doctor changed my prescription to the Vicodin 7.5-300mg without telling me. Is he trying to get me off the Norco or what? My guess on the stronger medication would probably be the Norco 10/325. Don't want to overdo it. But pain is horrific. How many Vicodin 's(10-300) are potentially lethal? ## Hi John, While there's no exact number of pills for a potentially lethal dose, I can tell you that for your own safety, the FDA recommends NO MORE THAN 4000mgs a day of Acetaminophen, and that is to be spread out over a 24hr period - NOT to be taken all at once. They also state in their warning that anything over 325mgs in a sitting has been shown to cause liver damage/failure; which from my understanding can eventually lead to death if liver damage is severe. can't see the first digit but last 3 are 063 under the digits its a line the a v. flip the pill over and it has 2 just 2... and the pill is white and round ## 2063 V 2 is not a Vicodin tablet, it contains a different type of narcotic, 300mgs of Acetaminophen and 15mgs of Codeine. I am currently on what my doctor calls a "pain management" plan since nothing else has worked. I take Vicodin 7.5/325 which right now is to be my at-home-pain-reliever. I was prescribed tramadol 50mg previously to take during the day and it was awesome! No pain, alert and able to work. But good feelings faded and became nothing. Now my doc had me on the same Vicodin. And I take Tramadol 50mg. (1-2 every six hours as needed, max 6 per day - Same as Vicodin) and Tylenol 3 (300/30mg) 1-2 twice daily. I already don't feel anything with this tramadol t3 combo. What is a good substitute I can take during the day? I have two pills that have different markings; one has "93" on one side and nothing on the other, both are white oblong pills second has number "142" on one side and, again nothing onn the other. they are the same size and color (white) as my previuos vicodin prescription? ## There are 2 possibilities for the one with the 142 marking. If it is an elongated oval, that is only rounded on the ends, so it's shaped more like a caplet, it's a 500mg Metformin tablet. I have chronic spine and hip pain from scoliosis and fibromyalgia. I took Vicodin for several years back when it did not have a generic and it did a good job for pain relief. The generic, Hydrocodone, supposedly has the same exact ingredient of codeine in the 5-300 cap, but does not give me pain relief. Do you think if I switched to Tylenol #3, which does NOT have a generic, that it's level of codeine would work better for pain relief?
