This is an antihistamine, commonly used to treat allergies, sleep disorders and sometimes nervous disorders, due to the sedative effects. I am on Vastarel 20mg for Tinitus - is the correct medicine? ## i am a married man of 70 years i have three daughtres all live in malta i have a grand daughter now in australia she is aircraft engineer ## It is correct. Vastarel is sometimes perscribed for tinnitus, although the primery condition it is normally used for is chest pain due to heart problems. You must report any change in the tinnitus to the doctor. Whether or not it helps depends on the cause of the tinnitus. This medicine is very safe.

I am male, 31 years old, 188cm/6.2 with 110kg... I have had hypertension for 5 years taking twynsta 80/5 and cipralex 20 mg.... My doctor recently added the medicine Vastarel MR twice a day cause I have sudden cardiac spasms.... Is there any interaction with these medications? Regards

I am taking Lanoxin and Aspirin (2700mg) a day for Rheumatic Heart Disease. Is it safe to take Vastarel together with the said medicines? What is the Commercial Name in Canada? Is it vastarel MR, or something else? ## From what I am finding, it is also available in Canada under the trade name Vastarel MR, though there may be other names it's sold under, as well. Trimetazidine is used to treat Angina and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness and gastric discomfort. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

I have just been prescribed tanganil as I experienced very bad side effect with vastarel which I took after a bad ear infection which resulted in part deafness in one ear. The Vastarel gave me vertigo, headache I felt sleepy all the time. I thought my middle ear was the problem, but the doc. said it has to be the vastarel. I hope tanganil will work for me. ## Hi, I have had major surgery on both ears and from time to time get bad vertigo. In the UK they prescribe Stemitel. I don't know it's generic name, but it takes about five days to work. When I got an attack in France they sold me Tanganil over the counter; worked like magic. I am not qualified to comment medically. I can only say I brought a packet back to the UK and that is what I will use next time.

My Mother is 96 y.o. diagnosed of Chronic Stable Angina, of AODM at age 80 with essential hypertension. She has a recent episode of lung infection treated with decongestant and antibiotic. She is on multiple meds. such as Vastarel MR, Pritor Plus, Simvastatin, Neurobion, Minidiab. At such age could these meds. be cut down gradually to substitute with alternative therapy? Or which drug should be cut out of her med. arsenal? ## At her age and with such health conditions, it is best to consult her doctor and let him make any adjustments that may be necessary. The Vastarel, which contains Trimetazidine and the Pritor Plus, which contains Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide, can both cause severe rebound effects, if they are stopped abruptly, which could put her life in danger.
