I have a friend who is very concern with the fact that he caught his ex-wife with someone recently, and is concerned if she caught something. He also found a perscription for Valtrex in her purse, and is wondering if she's reacting to a problem from this one night stand. Any information on this, would be very much appreciated. Can valrex be taken with xenadrine ## Hello, Lola! How are you? I'm sorry, but since the Xenadrine is just an over the counter supplement, it has not been evaluated for possible interactions with prescription medications. Have you checked with your pharmacist? They may have some information on it. I'll do some research and post back if I find anything.

Is Ranbaxy Valacyclovir gluten free ? ## Hello, Based on my research, Ranbaxy Pharmaceutical's version of Valacyclovir hydrochloride does NOT list gluten as an ingredient. From what I could gather, each film-coated tablet contains the following list of inactive ingredients: crospovidone, FD&C blue #2/indigo carmine aluminum lake, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol 400, polyethylene glycol 6000, polysorbate 80, povidone, and titanium dioxide. Reviews on the generic Valtex pill is blue number on pill is SZ 393 Sandoz pharm. from people that have tried this .. ## Hello, Ann! How are you? I've never taken it myself, since I've only dealt with oral cold sores, but I haven't read many complaints about it on here, or other medical information sites. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and stomach pain. I take Acyclovir, since it's the one approved to prevent cold sores and I have taken the one from Sandoz, I found it to work fine for me. Can anyone that's taken this one chime in with their experience?

The pill is dark blue, like valtrex color, round, and larger than an asprin with an imprint of 100 on one side and scored on the other side ## `I haven't been able to find a listing for anything meeting this description with just the 100 marking on it in any of the prescription drug databases that I checked. I had a stem cell transplant almost 4 years ago. I have been on bactrim, diflucan, tacrolimus and valtrex for 4 years. I am having pain in my upper arm, thoracic spine and cervical spine. It's muscle/tendon issues not bone. Jimmy Lee, Valtrex contains the active ingredient Valcyclovir, this would also be the generic name, it is available in the U.S. as a generic from Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals. What are they 4 worried about my family.. they are being taken with crowds 40 mg tab. If these taken with valacyclovir 500 mg tab. Or valtrex 500mg tabs. Are these pills one for herpies and other antidepressent? If so what if in side effects could occur raising them together? Please let me know. It is normal for a pharmacy to provide the generic from whatever manufacturer is offering the cheapest price, at the time they have to restock their supply. Been treated for the PTSD since 1996, many different meds and therapy, M.S. since 1998, have done the big 3 meds, copaxone, rebif, avonex, on none now, back surgery in 2000 from car wreck, I have a G.P. a pain doc, and a shrink. I got shingles on 2/28. I am on 150mgs Wellbruton, Fentayl 50mg. patch, 1600 mgs. neurotin, 15mgs methodone. Did the valtrex, steroids. Tryed Lyrica, swelling of ankles, super depression. Today G.P. gave me a script for Amitriptyline. I was on Elavil at one point, did no good for depression, does anyone think that this will help with the nerve pain from the shingles. I feel these guys are using me for a test subject. Should the G.P. be giving me mood elevators when I have a shrink that I see weekly? I have been prescribed oxycodone 5 mg. IMM REL capsules to be taken 2-3 every 4 hrs. for shingles pain. I have never taken this before, however I have chronic pain due to a right hip injury 6 years ago and normally take fiorinal #3 for that and also migraine headaches. I am in a'lot of pain and I am praying this med. will help. I was also prescribed lyrica 75 mg, Valtrex and I already take lexapro and zanax if needed. I am very cautious with medicine. So I was diagnosed with Shingles last week and was initially prescribed Vicodin for the pain by Urgent Care. In 6 days blew through the 20 Vicodin due to the pain being unreal. I called my PCP and they upgraded the prescription to Percocet 5-325 because the Vicodin was simply not working. The Urgent Care doctor called me and said no don't take the Percocet, take 600mg of Ibuprofen instead and if that doesn't show relief then they said to try Gabapentin. Between the Valtrex and Vicodin I've had extremely minimal side effects, mainly just drowsiness fortunately. I'm confused as to how 600mg of Ibuprofen is supposed to do what Vicodin couldn't do over 56 days 5-6 times a day?
