last week my 2 year old daughter was sleeping and suddenly she woke up with her eyes wide open and her teeths caught together holding her palms tightly, she was not conscious. it was there for 30 seconds. i was really shocked to see this happen. we took to doctor and he suggested to do EEG test, and the report was abnormal. now he has started treatment by giving VALPARIN 200 ( SYRUP). the doctor is unable to give any reason for this to happen . please let me know further details about this ## COMMENTS SUBMITTED ABOV ## it's because your daughter is suffering from fits,even my brother,who is 2 and half,suffers fits but more serious than your daughter's,he even screams when this happens,and sometimes saliva comes out of the mouth in the form of bubbles.even our docter prescribed v...

Am 24 year old female. I got fits before 4 years. i regularly taken valparin chrono 200 and folic acid tablets for first 3 years. after that i did't take those tablets regularly. again last month i got mild fits for 2 minutes. after that i continue the tablets regularly. let me know how long i will continue this tablets and is there any problem during pregnancy/delivery. My daughter takes valparin from past one year n how long it should be given. She had fits for a min twice. But all her reports r normal. So till when should valparin should b given ## This medication is used to prevent seizures. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight changes. She should continue taking it as long as her doctor deems it appropriate. Is she on any other medications?

My daughter is 3 and half years old. She is taking valparine 200 syrup for last one year when she suffering fits. Is there any side effect of this medicine? If I stop this syrup, will she affect again as fits? ## Hello JDR! How so she doing? She's only dosed when she has seizures? Does the doctor not have her on it to prevent them? My Son is now 4and half yrs old. He had Convergence when he was one yr old and second time when he was 2 and half yrs old in which he has fever of more than 103 degree and his eyes were wide and teeth and body was still. My cousin who is 5 yrs old has a problem in communication though there is no defect in the ears.Instead of replying to the question posted by others the child utters the same question to them. Recently he has been diagonsed and reported that he has epilepsy in brain. Now he is advised to take Valparin 200 syrup every night of about 2.5 ml. This medicine is given for controlling the epilepsy in the brain and as a result of this the hyperactivity comes down. My Son is 3 + and had febrile seizures. He is on valparin 200 (3.5 ml morning &5 ml evening).Today his evening doze was doubled i.e 10ml by mistake. Is there any problem . Should I consult doctor. I took valparin chrono 500mg + 800mg (morning + night) for 2 yrs. now EEG normal. Dr.advised to taper for 1 year with valparin (instead of valparin chrono).from 400+400+200mg. what is the difference between valparin and valparin chrono. Changed the tablets two days ago. My son is now 11 years old. When he was at 1.5 years old epilepsy attack (6 times) till his 8 years. Doctor advised to take Valparin 200, but some doctors advised us not to take valparin continuously that will affect any side effect on eyes.
