I was using Vic's/oxys for about 3 years. I finally was able to get into a detoxing center but was only able to stay 6 days. In them 6 days they gave me suboxone 4mg strips twice daily. The last time I used vicodin was 11/10/15 and the last time I had suboxone was 11/16/15 at 630am. Is it possible for me to be having w/d now? And if so from which? And did my body have enough time to build up a tolerance? And yes I went cold turkey from the suboxone. Plz somebody help ## How are you feeling? Have you experienced any withdrawals? You'd likely not experience any immediately, it wouldn't happen, until you missed one or more doses, though the time frame can vary from person to person. The FDA warns that possible withdrawal symptoms may include nausea, dizziness, rebound pain, dep...

Hello slit has been two days since taking my OXY IR's. I started my suboxone like two mgs and it is wonderful. I don't get any withdrawals and I sleep great. However I still have the craving for the IR. I am filling the script when I get the money but I did not want to go into withdrawals since I ran out. I plan to take them again next week or so but until then I just want to get past thinking about them. My question is my suboxone level to low or is thinking about getting them mentally a part of my brain used to having them? HELP PLEASE!!! ## Yes, it is normal to still think about wanting them, the Suboxone just helps prevent the physical symptoms of being without the drug, it doesn't fix the mental issues for you. However, you aren't going to be able to take the Oxycod...

I am dependent on norco 10/325 and was taking between 7-10 per day. I want to get off of them completely but the withdrawals are way too intense. I want to know a way to do so safely and comfortably. My situation is that on thursday mid day i had taken my last norco. By friday morning i had started feeling the withdrawal. I had gotten a 8mg suboxone and only took half and withdrawal went away really quickly all day friday. All day sat i was still fine on only the half then sat night i started feeling the withdrawal again so i took the other half. The rest of the day i was fine and all day sunday and all day monday. I have another suboxone tablet just in case it happens but am i doing this safely and will it work to get off everything completely? ## Dear dan, it all depends on how long u...

I've been off norco and oxy for about 5 days now but I've been using a butrans patch to help with withdrawals. I have my first appt. with a suboxone doctor tomorrow. Can I start suboxone while on butrans since it's the same medicine? It doesn't make sense that I'd need to be withdrawing from the butrans first? ## Withdrawing from it should not be necessary, but it is up to your doctor. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you on any other medications?

My friend has been clean for like 9 days now and her doctor prescribed her suboxone after she said her body hurt? Is that the reason? Cause I would love to know... ## Suboxone is prescribed for pain in other countries but here in the states as far as I know it,s only prescribed to treat opiate addiction. The pain your friend is feeling could be from withdrawal. Maybe your friend has other pain issues and also has a pain pill problem and the patient and doctor decided to start suboxone treatment. I,m taking sub for addiction but also have pain issues. the subs help for both problems. Some folks say that subs don,t help there pain at all. I can only say what works for me. ## Dear Kayla, as Jolter said," the pain could b due 2 withdrawals". I'm on suboxone and I suffer from man...

Suboxone/Subutex should be used one way and one way only. Start with the professionally recommended dose; (usually according to one's opiate intake) and ween off of it in 5-14 days. Any longer than that and it becomes a crutch, simply trading one demon for another. I know people that have been on it for 3yrs, and when it came time to stop...HELL. I took it for a year. Mistake. I suffered worse withdrawals from that then any other before. I relapsed. Relapsed with a plan of pure Will. I used vicodin for two weeks, weened myself off and suffered much, much less. Suboxone is powerful s***, not to mention expensive. I am a member of Pills Anonymous; therefore, I am speaking not only from my own experience, but dozens of others. Trust me; save yourself. I was taking oxycodone about 90 mg a day and ran out. A friend gave me 3 fentanyl 50mg patches which I use for 5 days, I've been clean now for 54 hrs. Have had sweats and chills some leg cramps and restlessness. As well as diarrhea. About an hour ago I took apprx 1mg suboxone. I am very fearful of precipitated withdrawals. I feel no difference yet. Is it safe to take more suboxone? ## Hello, Storm! How are you? What did you end up doing? Before taking Suboxone, you need to be in full withdrawal from everything else, otherwise there is the risk of experiencing the dangerous precipitated withdrawals. Thus, you may have been taking it a bit too soon. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit f...

I started taking suboxone almost 11 weeks ago. I was only taking 4mgs and today i went down to 2mgs. How long will it take me to taper to nothing and not have withdrawals? Please help. I am so sorry I ever touched these things. ## Hello, Karen! How are you? Regardless of how low you taper, you will likely still experience some minor withdrawal symptoms, once you finally stop altogether. Has your doctor provided any instructions? It does contain a very potent narcotic, to you do need to taper off of it as slowly as possible. Is this the only medication you're on? ## ive been taking about 2mg maybe less for about 2 years. havent taken it in three days trying to quit cold turkey. the only withdrawel symptoms ive had was no energy very little insomnia and a little anxiety eapecially whe...

I've only taken 1 mg of Soboxone a day since I was prescribed it three years ago. Now I want to quit. I started tapering and am at .25 twice a day. I plan on going down to .125 mg in a couple days.Has anyone had a similar experience and should I expect for withdrawals to be easy since I've never taken more then 1 mg? ## I tried (UNSUCCESSFULLY) for almost a year to get off suboxone!! I managed to get down to mere grains (probably 1/16th of a tablet) a day for three months.. Three days after I quit completely I felt horrible. Not physically but it's like my mind was so down I could even get off my sofa to feed my fish that were six steps away! I hate this dependence and wish I had never used it as long as I have (4yrs). Unless I am able to have no obligations like a career I ...

How are you? You have to bee in full withdrawal from everything else, before you can start Suboxone. Otherwise, the Naloxone in it can throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Hello everyone who is one methadone and wants to get off. I was on methadone for 6 years....I wanted to get off so I went to a rehab and did a 30 day suboxone detox getting down to 1 mg for the last 3 days. After 2 days off suboxone I started to get sick once again and decided to get back on methadone. That lasted for about a year before I had finally had enough. I did research and did a 16 day detox from 108 mg to 0 with minor side effects compared to the hell I know methadone withdrawal can be. This is what I did and it worked for me. I can't believe drs aren't talking of the benefits of DXM. Every day before dosing I took 100 mg of Dxm, and drank a few cups of grapefruit juice, the juice increases the effects of the methadone because it inhibits the enzyme that metabolites it...

I took 50mg of methadone today. How long do I have to wait to take suboxone? ## Wait about one to two days so it works and doesn't make u have bad withdrawals. You will be sick if u dont start feeling sick and then take the sub. ## Hi Brandy, I know this is an older post, but I came across it. Like u, I went from methadone 2 suboxone. U must wait until u r withdrawing before u take the suboxone. If u don't, it won't work and u could get sicker. ## I took 60 mg of methadone at midnight and started the suboxone program at nine am the next morning. I was fine. ## I'm on 70 mg methadone and I want to switch to subs... How long do I wait? It's been 42 hours since my last dose and I'm now starting to feel some withdrawals..... I was on methadone for 15 years, up to 300mg at the most. I recently switched to suboxone, after a slow taper to 20mg of the done. I have been on sub for 5 days now, needing 6 to 8mg a day. My question is why does my stomach hurt so bad after the dose wears off? I have tried splitting doses and it alleviates the stomach pain temporarily. Could this be the nalaxone in the suboxone? Or can methadone hang out and cause withdrawals still, even though the suboxone covers for it. All started from a surgery at 15 years old, fron post surgery pain management. then a pediatrician started me on methadone for the pain and eventually referred me to a methadone clinic when I was 18. ## Forgot to add I get 8/2mg(bupe/ nalaxone) sublingual strips, and split it in two for a total of one strip a day. ##...

I'm 13 days in withdrawal from Suboxone. I was on 8 mg for almost 2 years after abusing Vic/Perc for a little over year. I was never supposed to be put on this evil s*** and it's caused me to lose everything. I'm currently living in my girlfriends 2 bedroom house with her two kids. They all hate me so I basically hide in the basement thru this hell. Being alone is the hardest part for me. Will it ever end? I'm starting to think I don't want to live anymore ;(. Please help ## Hi Jojo, Sorry to hear about the suboxone withdrawals. I regularly take 10-12 mg of Suboxone daily. This month I ran out 3 days early, so I took 80 mg of opiates. Each day I took my last does of opiates at noon, it's now 7 pm. Is it safe to take Suboxone again? I don't want to go in withdrawals but I have always been told Suboxone remains in your system for 3-5 days. If so, is there enough Suboxone in my system so I won't go into withdrawals? ## Hello, David! How are you? It's difficult to gauge, because how long it stays can vary from person to person. It would really be best to wait until you're in full withdrawal, before starting it, again, unless your doctor directs otherwise. 80mgs of opiates is a high amount, so there could be a pretty high risk of precipitated withdrawals, if you take it too soon. The FDA classifi...

I am on oxycontin and fentanyl patches. My uncertainty is how much into withdrawal do i need to be before taking suboxone? Can i take it at the beginning when i start with the stomach problems (i.e. diarrhea, heavy fatigue)? ## No, Suboxone can only be taken once you are in full withdrawal. This is due to the fact that along with the Buprenorphine, it also contains Naloxone, to prevent the abuse of other opiates while someone is under treatment with it. Thus, if it is started too soon, it can throw you into severe, dangerous withdrawals. I've been on subs for 8 months at 8mg / per day.. i couldn't make it to my doc and suffer from bad back pain so I've been two days 48 hrs with no suboxone and got alot of pain i took 1 perc 5 now at 10:10pm & get my suboxone tomorrow at 12:00 is this a safe time frame foe me to start my suboxine tomorrow . Thank you! ## Hi Ginger, Despite your circumstances I do think it was wise of you to wait the 48 hours in between the Suboxone and Percocet. Now going in reverse from Percocet to Suboxone, some of the feedback I'm seeing on other related threads here suggests waiting at least 24 hours or until you are in full withdrawal (from all other opiates) before taking Suboxone, in order to avoid precipitated withdrawals. Though I think the time frame may vary somewhat for ea...

Will taking Percocet and .5mg claudapins help the withdrawal symptoms? ## It will help, ever so slightly Easiest way to withdrawal, Taper methadone down every two weeks I would start at 100 Take 100 for 2 weeks Go to 80 for 2 weeks Go to 60 for two weeks 40 35 Then at 35 or 30 Start taking it every other day Stay off for 5 days, then switch to suboxone Suboxone for 2 months until you take nothing This way you won't suffer from the acute withdrawal syndrome for the next 3 months I stopped cold turkey at 60 after being on it for years, I had no energy for 3 months ## No offense do nottake that advice that is way too aggressive you can die are you extremely sick please be careful what ...
