I am 62 and have no history of hypertension, yet there was a sudden spike in my blood pressure reaching 160/100, so my Dr. prescribed several medicines (Amlodipine 5mg, Enlapril, Clopidogrel 75mg, Aspirin 75mg, Atrovastatin). I took them for 4 days and immediately my B.P. showed normal. Then the Dr. told me I will have to take the medications as prescribed for the rest of my life or I will have to face rebound effects. I don't like the idea of being on medications forever. It was a small sporadic incidence with grade 1 mild heart dysfunction. I then went for a 2nd opinion from an expert Dr. He asked me to discontinue all previous medications and take only 1/2 Amlodipine and 1/2 aspirin daily for 6 months. I found one of the previous meds was Plavix (Clopidogrel) and learned that it ...

I take apo-hydro and pms-irbesartan(for blood pres.) 60 mg.of apo-atorvastatin(cholesterol);75 mg.of apo-clopidogrel(generic plavix) and 81 mg. of aspirin(baby aspirin) for blood thining.swim 6.4 km(very fast),lift weights 5 times and 600 !! sit-ups per week. can i take 200 mg. of 7-keto,a day.? with respect and thanks damir(70 yrs. old-former pro player in europe) ## From what I'm finding, the 7-Keto is a body building supplement and, as such, it has not been tested for its possible interactions with medications. Thus, I can only advise that you check with your doctor, before using it. Depending on what it contains, such as Vitamin K, it may not be good for you to take with Clopidogrel, because it can affect the clotting factor of your blood. Have you discussed using it with your d...

I don't drink everyday but sometimes a couple nights in a row for events. I also take 75mg plavix. Is it safe? ## No, not really. Alcohol and Plavix can both cause blood thinning as side effects, according to the FDA, so taking them together heightens your risk of experiencing dangerous bleeding episodes. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and easy bruising. How much do you usually drink?

Has anyone had blurred vision while on Plavix? I've been on it for three months and it gets worse every day. ## The FDA does warn that this medication has been known to cause ocular bleeding, so it would be best to consult your doctor to have the blurry vision checked out, to be sure. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising. Am 78 and had 2 stents put in 6-1/2 years ago. Taking Plavix 75 mg and aspirin 81 mg. Gradually have seen darkening of skin on the ankles. /seems micro hemorrhaging under the skin. Does any one know if the could be a side effect of taking these drug? ## Yes, it certainly could be due to blood thinning that these medications are causing, according to NIH reports, they can also cause easy bruising as a side effect. Why are you taking both, since they essentially do that same thing, though? Are you on any other medications? Did your doctor instruct you to take both?

In June of this year, I had an acute event in which my intestines started dying and I came very close to death myself. My son, who is an er dr collaborated with my Drs and suggested they give me Heparin which eventually reversed the condition, saving my life. This week, I have had to see eye specialists regarding the sudden loss of vision in my left eye. After many tests they believe that I had a stroke of the optic nerve. I am a 62 year old female who is on 75 mg. of Plavix a day due to having stents placed in an artery in the back of my heart a year and a half ago. I stopped taking my plastics and started using horse chestnut 300 milligram my doctor advised me that I could take them both together but after reading the advice on WebMD um I don't think I should be taking them together I have high cholesterol to stance one of my heart in one of my leg and I just need some help should I take them together ## Hello, Lu! How are you? Are you aware that the horse chestnut isn't actually proven to work? It would have been better to stay on the Plavix and not take it. And since the horse chestnut is a supplement, it hasn't been tested for interactions with prescription medications, so your doctor likely knows more on that. Are you on any other medications?

After a planned angioplasty of LAD (95%block) a stable patient(no sugar, no BP, Tot.Cholestrol153,but HDL 30, LDL 96 who showed effort anjina. How to reduce the current dosage of Plavix 75 twice, Rozat40 1 daily, and Ecospirin 150 after 1 month? Is Ecospirin, Rozat combination overuse of medicine? ## The medication dosages should not be lowered, unless the patient's doctor instructs them to lower them, or stop one. This is not overuse of medications, multiples are normally prescribed to treat such conditions. A 95% block is very dangerous. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and joint/muscle aches. Is there anything else I can help with?

The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, blood thinning, easy bruising, and joint/muscle aches. Is there anything else I can help with?

How are you? If you only took 2 tablets, then it's not very likely that adverse effects would still be lingering months later. Thus, I really think you may have something else going on that isn't related to this antibiotic.
