I had a stroke and i was discharged from my pt/ot theraphy. Right now i still cant write very well. My doctor prescribed to take methycobal for 6 months. methycobal 500, is it a drug ? It is use for what purpose? ## It is actually Methylcobalamin and it is a form of vitamin b12. It is taken for vitamin b12 deficiency. There are other forms of Vitamin B12 as well, such as a form called Cyanocobalamin, but Methylcobalamin B12 is by far the most superior form of vitamin b12. ## I am a gastro paisant with deficiency of vitamin B12. Perscribed to me whilst in Japan, I was suffering from dizziness. ## From what I was able to gather Methycobal is used in treating diseases of vitamin B12 deficiency (such as pernicious anemia), or diseases of effective B12 deficiency, such as vitamin B12 metabolic pathway pathologies. Had 3 operations in 2 years. My neck. Lower spine and left knee replacement. Can I take methycobal 500. My fingers are showing sign arthritis. Is overdose of vit-12 harmful? However, this is just a nutritional supplement, not an actual medication, so it isn't likely to help with arthritis. The U.S. FDA warns that it may cause nausea, as a side effect. I am taking one Osertile 100 plus tablet and one Frenxit for each day for reducing high blood pressure. I have been suffering deficiency of vitamin B12. IIt is 155.49 pg/ml.
