I'VE BEEN TAKING ATIVAN 2 MG.AT HS.FOR YEARS , THEY SAID NONE SHOW UP IN MY URINE TEST.WHY WOULD THIS HAPPEN? ## Don't know if you're still looking for an answer to this, but basically cheaper urine tests (like the immunoassay) only test for the two most common metabolites of benzopdiazepines which are Nordiazepam and Oxazepam. Lorazepam's metabolite is molecularly dissimilar from these more common metabolites and therefore only shows up as positive in very high concentrations. If it had been a GC/MS test it would have easily been detected. ## My son overdosed on 80 ativan and his tox screen was normal when he got to the hospital. I took ativan the day before my urine drug screen for pre employment. They did a Twelve panel drug screen and I tested negative for everything including benzos. And my dose was .30 mg. So everyone posting and saying that it's detected up to 6 weeks it is NOT.

I take 1mg of Lorazepam AS NEEDED for anxiety. I was rushed to the hospital and while there they did a urine drug test that showed up negative for Lorazepam (or any benzo for that matter). I took a Lorazepam the morning before. Since it showed up negative, I have been discharged as a patient due to noncompliance. How is that even possible, much less fair? I take 0.5 mg lorazepam daily. Today is Monday. Will the benzo test show up positive this Thursday in a urine test if all I take otherwise is 8mg of suboxone daily? I was told 2 weeks ago not to take lorazepam anymore in order to keep getting the suboxone. BTW, lorazepam is not prescribed to me. ## How long did it stay in your system?

I took one Lorazepam 1mg and one 10/325 Hydrocodone. If I went to get a urine drug test 20 minutes later would either or both show up in the urine drug test at my Doctors? ## The hydrocodone most likely, I don't think the lorazepam would show just yet (if at all)..

I am curious as to how long this medicine (Lorazepam) will remain in my system in regards to detectability from urinalysis screening. It is prescribed, but don't want employer to know of my situation. ## It depends on how often you take them; if you just use it occasionally then it will take 48 to 72 hours to be out of your system, but if you use it every day then benzo's can stay in your urine up to 30 days. My research tells me that labs don't typically screen for specific prescription medications (that aren't narcotics). I'm being drug tested for a job tomorrow and I took one 10mg tablet of buspirone this morning and about a week ago I took like two 1 mg tablets of lorazepam and like 3 buspirone and I was just wondering if it would show up tomorrow in my urine test? ## Buspirone is not a controlled substance, so it is not usually tested for on standard employment drug tests, according to FDA reports. my grandma has two times had negative test results on her urine toxicology test the second one said for expanded opiates on the lab paper which i see should have detected her pain med but didnt she takes ativan 6mg/daily and oxycodone a total of 25mg/daily shes 66 and seems to have urine flow problems idk if it matters her doctor wont order a blood test shes been on the ativan for 30 years and the pain meds for 6 ## I have had three negative testings for Opiates I take them two to three times daily. How could this be possible??? My Doctor has discharged me as her patient because of this.

I came out positive for lorazepam on a urine test at the methadone clinic. The only things i've taken were ambien, theraflu, sudafed, and some other over the counter medications. I had a drug test last week. I was worried about my liver levels but they were fine so I thought I was ok. Well the test showed positive for Xanax which I'm confused because I don't take Xanax. I take lorazepam but he said that comes up different. Well now I have to take a urine test again because of this complication. Now I am trying to flush my system with tons or water because this week I have taken percocet for breakthrough pain. I'm not prescribed this and am terrified that it will show up. Hello. I have been taking Ativan for 7 years. I take 1mg a day. I cut it in half and take half in the morning and the other half in the evening. Yesterday I needed a refill and made an appointment with my doctor. Unfortunately he is on vacation. The nurse told me that to have a refill I needed a drug test. I said yes. Will that show up in a urine test? ## Ativan/Lorazepam (Benzodiazepines) can remain detectable in your urine for up to 1-6 weeks after your last dose; a pretty wide time frame in my opinion, but unfortunately it is what it is and will most-likely show up in your urine test if you only had a day's notice. This is not to say that it's possible for it to not show up, but odds are that it will if they are testing for benzos. I take 2 mg Ativan twice a day, every day..had urine test at dr office..Ativan didn't show up. What could interfere w it showing? Now my dr thinks I ran out early. I'm baffled! Any answers? I have a prescription for ativan and diazepam. My ativan (lorazepam) script needed refilling however my doctor was on vacation without a covering physician. Which was bad but I only needed to wait 4 days til his return. My husband has a clonazepam script and offered to help by letting me take four of his til my doctor returned. Take the paperwork from the hospital with you to your probation appointment showing the medication they gave you. You will not be violated. ## Walt, Lorazepam won't be in your system for six weeks. Will i fail it??? ## Hi Lil, If you were prescribed this medication then you don't have to worry about drug testing results. Simply show them your prescription prior to the test, if you're able to. If this is not your prescription, it is noted that Lorazepam (Benzodiazepines) can be detected in your urine for up to 1-6 weeks after your last dose. So in this case, you would most-likely test positive for it, unless they don't check for Benzos on a standard screening. I hope this info helps!

Does water sweating and niacin help? ## Ativan (Benzodiazepine) can take as long as 1-6wks to go undetected in your urine. Certainly the lesser of the two if you've only taken it a couple of times. In my opinion you should be fine as long you're drinking lots of water (preferably lemon water) & exercising till you sweat each day in between. Fruits, veggies, & wheatgrass shots will also help detox your body, so I'd also suggest staying on top of that as often as you can. I took 10 mg of Ativan on Saturday night and have a urine drug test today, Tuesday at 5:30. Will it be out by then? ## There is a chance that it will still be detected. Ativan contains the active ingredient Lorazepam, which is a Benzodiazepine and these can be detected for as long as 6 weeks, after taking them. However, if you have a prescription for them, there is no need to be concerned, you just have to inform them of such, when you go in for the test.
