Since I had my gall bladder removed in April I had had stomach pain etc. After having a colonoscopy and in endoscopy the doc gave me welchol. He said it would solve my stomach problems. I can find no info for any indication other than high cholesterol. Has anyone heard of using welchol for stomach problems?????????? Pat ## rI too was givenwelchol after gall bl ## MedLinePlus has an article detailing the specific details on this medication. The active ingredient in Welchol, which is Colesevelam binds to bile acids, since those who have had their gall bladders removed may sometimes experience gastro-intestinal issues due to excess bile, it is sometimes prescribed to help alleviate such issues. Is it helping either of you?

Heartburn, also known as pyrosis,[1] cardialgia, or acid indigestion[2] is a burning sensation[3] in the chest, just behind the breastbone or in the epigastrium, the upper central abdomen.[4] The pain often rises in the chest and may radiate to the neck, throat, or angle of the jaw. Heartburn is usually associated with regurgitation of gastric acid (gastric reflux) which is the major symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).[5] It may also be a symptom of ischemic heart disease, thou...

I was taking motrin daily and had to stop due to GERD becoming worse. I switched to aleve and so far so good. My Dr has offered to write a RX for Diclofenac and I'm concerned if that will increase my acid stomach S/Sxs! How is that side effect with Diclofenac in relation to Aleve and Motrin? ## The risk of experiencing such a side effect is approximately the same, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. Do you take anything to help prevent the GERD? Are you on any other medications?

stomach upset with chronic diaherea anyone else have this problem with multaq ## These can be common side effects of Multaq, which contains the active ingredient Dronedarone and is used to treat irregular heartbeat. However, they should start to taper off as your body adjusts to the medication, which can usually take about 4 to 6 weeks. How severe is it? Have you consulted your doctor? If it is very severe, then talking to your doctor is the best thing you can do, because it may not be the right medication for you. There is also a chance they may be able to help you find something you can use to lessen their severity, while you get used to the medication. ## I had a couple of problems when I started taking Multaq. The worst being anxiety. I have never had anxiety before, and didn't ...

Hi I've been taking Celecoxib 100mg for 4 months now, it works great for my chronic pain but recently I've noticed it is making my stomach upset? Like diarrhea wise. Is it because I'm not taking it with enough food? Maybe my body has built up a resistance? But I still feel no pain in my shoulder so I'm not sure. I take it twice daily with food. Any comments are appreciated. I'm a 16 year old female with CRMO (chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis). ## Hello, Loosy! How are you? Stomach irritation is a very typical side effect of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications and sometimes, it still happens, even if you take it with food. The FDA lists its other side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness and headache. Have you consulted your doctor? You may...

Hi, I'm 17 years old and I'm taking 1 tablet of Ferrous Sulfate once a day. But I'm also taking 1 1/2 tablets of Predisone twice a day and along with multiple other dosages of other medicines. Could this be the reason for the churning sick feeling in my stomach? ## I think it largely depends on what all the other medications are that you might be taking with it. Just about all prescription drugs can cause these types of side effects. Based on my research, Ferrous Sulfate does list "constipation" and "stomach upset" as side effects. It also mentions that you should tell your doctor if either of these symptoms are severe or do not go away. The only problem I see with pinpointing the culprit, is that Prednisone also lists this as side effect as well. And I can o...

I am waiting on a call back from my doc but I have had an upset stomach two days in a row. Today it was right at three hours after taking my pill. I don't want to take too many pills ( 4 in two days ) . If it was right at three hours should I even be worried about today? ## Do you mean you vomited after taking your pill, or you just had nausea? If it was just nausea, that wouldn't affect it and there'd be no reason to take an extra pill. Even with vomiting, if it was after several hours, there's a good chance that you already absorbed the medication, since it usually only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to start breaking down. What did your doctor tell you to do?

I am taking 20mg of Lisinopril per day. However, I am on a diet and with the reduced amount of food I eat the Lisinopril upsets my stomach. Is there a time-release form of the 20 mg Lisinopril pill? ## Hello, Tom! How are you? Have you tried making sure to take it with a meal and not on an empty stomach? That can often mitigate the nausea. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. What do you usually take it with?

I was prescribed Welchol for type 2 diabetes. My fasting blood sugar went from the mid 200's to the low 100's. But it upset my stomach so badly I stopped taking it.I would really like to start taking it again because it is the only thing I have found that works for my diabetes. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do to prevent stomach upset? ## Hello, Radar! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you experienced. Have you made sure to take it with a meal? The manufacturer suggests you do so, to help prevent the nausea. That means to take it, just as your eating, not before. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Have you informed your doctor? They may have other ideas to help prevent the nausea.

When you say upset stomach, do you mean that you were just nauseous, or did you actually vomit? If it was just nausea, then you wouldn't have needed to take any additional tablets. And vomiting a few hours later may not require that, either. But you should consult your doctor to be certain.

I have watery diarrhea and don't think it's a virus since I don't have a fever but I can't stop going to the restroom. Can I use it to treat this? It's 500 mg Pfizer Terramicina. ## Hello, Gabby! How are you? Are you still having diarrhea? Not all viruses cause a fever and, depending on what's causing it, an antibiotic could make the diarrhea even worse, since that's one of their typical side effects. The FDA lists the others as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and non-allergic skin rash. I caught a nasty stomach bug last October, but had no fever, even though I had a lot of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It took 3 weeks to fully recover. Have you tried anything else to help stop the diarrhea? You should have this checked out to find out for sur...

Oral surgery for gingivitis and bone Graf. Been on for ten days and have 3days left. Threw up this am while eating 6 hrs after taking pill. Not allowed to chew yet mostly liquid diet. What can I do to combat nausea. ## Hello, Kim! How are you feeling? Have you tried taking it with a little milk? It does have a slight effect on the absorption of this antibiotic, but not enough that most medical scientists have considered it significant enough to carry a warning about telling people to stay away from dairy with this one. You should check with your surgeon first to make sure that it's okay for you to take it that way, but milk can often coat the stomach and help prevent the nausea and irritation.
