I have just been prescribed the generic Tramadol-50 mg 1 pill 3x a day for knee pain. Tramadol is the generic of Ultram 50 mg. ## I am trying to find out if Ultram is addictive and is it a opiate. ## I have been taking suboxone for three mths, I started taking it because of addiction to hydrocodone. I am going to run out before its time for my refill. I will be out for a week. Will I go into withdrawl? I was looking at 50mg Tramadol or Ultram and want to verify that the ones I saw pictured are the real thing. I took 200mg codeine in cough syrup and usual .5 mg of xanax at 830. 2 hours later I had a splitting headache and took 50mg of tramadol. I had a back surgery 17 years ago. that was not successful. My Neurosurgeon prescribed my 2 tabs of ULTRAM 50 with 2 tylenols, every 4 hours. For 15 years Ultram helped my pain. This is an analgesic, derived from an opiate, so even though it works like an anti-inflammatory, it does have the same addictive qualities and is classified by the FDA as a narcotic. This is classified as a narcotic, however it was derived from a sythetic one in a failed attempt to reduce addiction and side effects. Thus they have a medication that acts like a basic anti-inflammatory, but carries the same side effects and addictive potential as an opiate. Found in teen's room ## This is a 50mg dose of a non-narcotic pain killer Tramdaol which is the generic for Ultram. small white elongated ## found them in my daughters purse ## Oblong white pill imprinted with 377 is 50mg Tramadol, generic for Ultram. This is a narcotic pain pill. ## Ah, my apologies, it is not a narcotic. ## No Ben, you were correct the first time. They do classify this as a narcotic now, even though it doesn't work like one and acts like a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Since it is derived as an opiate and can result in some cases of dependence or addiction, they have reclassified it as schedule II narcotic.
