Been taking tylenol #4 for over 4years. Prior taking tylenol #3 for 11 years, my Dr switched to tylenol #4 due to increased pain level. I take it responsibly, 1/4th at a time with 1/4 Phenergan. Have gone 60 Days aaa self test, no addiction. Must be a rarity. Never have had withdrawal from anything, not even Klonopin taken hrs apart of #4's. ## Not everyone becomes addicted to any given substance, some people are just not prone to it. The main question is whether or not the medication is working for you. The FDA warns that this medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I cut a tylenol 4 that contains codeine? I don't want to get too drowsy. ## Yes, you can, as long as your doctor approves, it is not a time released medication. I'm taking tynelol #4 with codeine now. Is there a tynelol 5 or 6 with codeine available? I need more relief. ## Hello, Oreo! How are you? No, the maximum dose available is the one you are currently taking. However, there are other pain medications available that are stronger, such as Vicodin and Percocet, so you may want to inform your doctor, so you can explore your other options. The FDA does warn that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is it possible to get the codeine without the Tylenol and or is dilaudid a better than Tylenol w/codeine? ## Yes, Codeine is available by itself, with the Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Dilaudid, however, is a much stronger analgesic. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes, you CAN get straight Codeine(anytime you can get a med w/o Tylenol, please do so as it's less damaging to kidneys)& this way YOU can control the amt of acetaminophen you injest. As for which med us better? That all depends on your need for pain relief AND what your Dr. recommends. I'm in stage IV kidney diseas...

How long should I wait before switching from Tylenol with Codeine to Norco 7.5/325? I took 2 Tylenol at about 10 a.m. When can I switch to Norco? I've been on Tylenol with Codeine for years and the pain has gotten worse... ## Usually, unless your doctor or pharmacist has instructed otherwise, you can do a clean switch at the next dosing schedule. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. the Norco is stronger than the Codeine, so it would be best not to double up, until you see how it is going to affect you. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Are you on any other medications? ## Can I take 1 tablet of Norco 7.5 plus 1 tablet of tylenol 4? ## Not recommended, especially not at the same time. anyone else taking generic tylenol 4 made by teva? my pharmacy just switched brands and taking ONE feels like i'm taking FOUR. but that's only every third pill... they dont feel consistent but regardless they feel WAYYYY over the regular strength of codeine. it feels like i'm taking codiene and vicodin at the same timme and i hate it. ## Is there any chance that the times when it seems to hit stronger are also times where you might have eaten less, or not eaten anything yet? If so, that could explain the inconsistency right there. It could even happen if you took one with a big breakfast, since the food would prevent it from hitting your body as fast and then took the next one with or just after a light lunch, since there isn't as much food and it the medication would re...
