is tylenol er a prescription medication? ## It depends on the dosage, there is an over the counter formulation sold as Tylenol Arthritis Pain formula, it contains 650mgs of Acetaminophen in a time released formulation and is sold over the counter. Higher dosages, however, require a doctor's prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?

How long do I have to wait after taking my last percocet before I can take Tylenol? ## Hello, Azma! How are you? About 8 hours, usually, if your doctor approves. But, please be careful not to exceed 3,000mgs a day of Acetaminophen, or you could risk overdose toxicity. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Please help! I had a minor surgery (circumcision) 11 days ago. My genitals are swollen and discharging (i went to the ER and docs said it's normal). When these things start showing up i cant sleep at all, just 2-3 hrs a day. I need to sleep and be ready to work the next day... Can ...

He took eventually 35 pills of 500mg of acetaminophen total of 17,500mg and he is trying to puke them out..what should i do? ## Hello, Hunny! How is he? In such a case, emergency medical attention needs to be sought, by either taking him to the nearest ER, or calling emergency services. If treated in time, there is a chance that a doctor can counteract the Acetaminophen toxicity and minimize the liver damage. The FDA lists the typical side effects, in normal dosages, to possibly include nausea, dizziness and headache. Can you please post back and update me? ## I, too, had liver enzyme tests come back high (taking Percocet which has acetemonphin). I lrned hat taking Milk Thistle and NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine). NAC is used in ERs when someone has ODed on Tylenol. With taking both of these su...

Is the Tylenol ER good for toothache ## Hello, Ray! How are you? Tylenol contains Acetaminophen, which is an analgesic, but it really depends on the severity of the toothache. It may help with a relatively mild one, but if it's severe and there's an infection involved, it likely won't help much. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Have you consulted your dentist?

Is a Tylenol 4, white round pill with 2065 v and 4 on other side, equal to a Percocet 10? Was just prescribed this from emergency room. But I have not taken it before. My doctor has me taking 4 Percocet 10's a day for back pain. Now have 2 healspurs and tendinitis and sprained ankle and in so much pain! Help please? ## Hello Marie! How are you? Codeine is actually weaker, so each one of the Tylenol 4 you take is only equivalent to about 6mgs of Oxycodone. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics. They carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Most ERs will not prescribe the more potent medications, such as Oxycodone, anymore. To get something stronger to help with more p...

Taking opana ER 5 mg and 5 mg opana for breakthrough is not really helping. Can I take tylenol as well? ## They can be taken together, unless you've been instructed not to mix them. The FDA warns that these medications may carry the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are you on any other medications? What medical condition is being treated? ## Opana is now being taken off the market. As of Sept 1 2017. I myself have been on opana for 6 years for pain and IR for breakthrough. So Idk what we are going to do now to answer your question though yes when first prescribed opana was also prescribed Vicodin for breakthrough.

Last night at the er i was given a shot of demeral and was given to take home 6 tylenol3. I waited 3 to 4 hrs still in major back pain and took the tylenol 3 since doc said demeral would only give temp relief. Shortly it started to kick in and it caused my stomack are to cramp so bad that i couldnt relax in my bed unless i was in a very weird possition with my legs to take preasure off but it was hurting my back. Ive also had gastric bypass and along with that 4 surgeries related to it. I dont know why this reaction happened and was hoping i could get some insight. ## It can cause stomach upset as a side effect, though the cramping isn't normal, according to FDA reports. But it might have something to do with your gastric bypass. It can alter how people metabolize medications. The t...

take gravel with it and youll feel fine ## Can I take a Tylenol sometimes while I am on Morphine er mg.? ## Yes, they can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves. However, the Acetaminophen may potentiate the action of the Morphine, so it would be best to have your doctor's approval to make sure it is safe for you. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## n 60 is this a form of morphine

V.A. sent me hydrocodone 5mg/acetaminophen 325mg. It has red dots all over, with # 3202 on one side, and Watson on the other side. So, is this really hydrocodone, 5, with acetaminophen 325 mg ? My levels came back high for hydrocodone, on blood test, but Rx said " no more than 8 in a 24 hour period, and I have never taken more than that, in 24 hour period. I might have taken one the morning of the test, not sure. Did I cause this error in blood test myself? Thanks DIANE ## Hello, Diane! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you've had. Yes, this tablet is manufactured by Watson Pharmaceuticals and they do list it as containing 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. How high were your levels on the test? That can sometimes happen, if you're dehydrated. D...

i have back problems an i was givin some by a freind ## Because pain medications tend to effect each person differently (due to various levels of pain tolerance and severity), you can't really tell someone "how" strong something like this is. What works for them may not have any effect on you, or vise versa. The Tylenol ER isn't necessarily stronger than other forms of Tylenol (in regards to potency). All it does is simply last longer, since it's an extended-release version of the drug. OTC meds like this also aren't really intended for severe pain issues, but it may help alleviate minor muscle aches & body pain, such as arthritis. I hope this helps!

I have fibromyalgia and chronic back pain. My pain mgmt Dr took me off Percocet 5-325 and put me on Tylenol 4. Will I have better pain control now? ## In my opinion there are way too many variables within your question(s) for anyone to give an honest and helpful answer. Because we all react/respond differently, the only true way to find an accurate answer would be for you to go through trial & error and formulate your own opinion. Not only are we comparing doses here, but also the effects of binders/fillers (that some patients may have sensitivities to) altering absorption rates or bioavailability; Not to mention the Percocets contain varying percentages of their main active ingredient from manufacturer to manufacturer... (For example, on NIH.gov's website the Percocet [brand na...

Can I take Tylenol pm 3 hrs after taking Voltaren? I was at the ER and have an abscessed tooth and took the Voltaren pill as prescribed, but still hurt and cannot sleep. ## Tylenol PM is not as strong, so it is doubtful that it will help more than the Voltaren. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Voltaren as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation, and increased risk of bleeding. Have you consulted your dentist, yet? Generally, an antibiotic is also required for such an infection. ## In addition to Verwon's response, I wanted to answer your question re: "Can I take Tylenol pm 3 hrs after taking Voltaren?" According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Tylenol ...

Oblong white pill with no markings on either side; between 1/2 - 3/4 long by 5/16 wide ## IF it has no markings, then it is not a U.S. prescription medication of any type. They are all required to have imprints to enable their identification. Where was it found/obtained? Was it in the U.S. or elsewhere? ## It was given to me by a co-worker claiming it was some kind of tyl/codiene pill. Found it fishy due to no markings wondered if it was generic plain tylenol or possibly Tyl/cod from another country? Canada? ## I have found 2 white long pills that are blank one side and Tylenol ER on the other what are they? ## Yes --- the plain white round pills are Tylenol with codeine. There are no markings whatsoever on these pills. I just got a bunch of Tylenol #4's from a friend who said he go...

How long after taking last Tylenol3and oxycodone 5mg can i restart my suboxon ## Hello, Charles! How are you? You must be in full withdrawal from everything else, before you can take Suboxone, otherwise, it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been on oxycodone 10mg and 10mg opana er . I tapered, I'm down to only one oxycodone 10mg and 1 opana 10mg. I want to know if they have done something different to the Tylenol 3 to make people say they are comparable to hydrocodone 500/325 and why would my stomach not handle the codeine in the Tylenol 3s but the hydrocodone doesn't upset my stomach ## There is no 500/325 Hydrocodone, did you mean 5/325? No, they have not done anything different, but some medications work better for some people than others, which is why there are usually multiple choices available in any given drug class. For example, when given Dilaudid in the hospital, it gave me a severe headache every time, however, it is what they often use in the ER for people that come in with severe migraines. That said, that can also apply to the side effects, while Hydrocodone doesn't bother you, the Codeine in the Tylenol 3 ...

Hi, I have an ear infection and want to know how often do i take my tylenol and Ibuprofen 800? I'm in so much pain I'll be crying. ## You should follow your doctor's prescribing instructions. Were you also prescribed an antibiotic or antibiotic ear drops? Neither Tylenol, nor Ibuprofen will help eradicate an infection. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation.

is there a common ingredint. n codeine hydrocone tramadol ER meds something causes tormenting. pain on right side of head face. jaw( feel like toothache ) ear neck I can feel nerve throbbing I was taking pain med for cervical degeneration. which is disabling but they all cause this other suffering. help please ## Have you consulted your doctor to have this checked out? The reason I'm asking is because the erosion from GERD can sometimes cause this, since it exposes nerves that radiate to that area. Whenever mine acts up, I end up with pain that radiates to that same area on my right side, but after taking something to reduce the acid and let it heal for a few days, it usually stops. Do you take the medications with a full, 8 ounce glass of water? Do you ever get heart burn? Frequent...

PAIN! To those legit (chronic, acute, every freaking day hr., min of ur life) pain sufferers, I'm one. Tired of being judged, esp when pain cannot be seen, i.e. migraines +12 more issues = Pain at a level of 10+. When 1 Dr. says do / 1 says dont -pain meds or anything else, I find it frustrating and humiliating. "It's in ur head, take a Tylenol!". 30 months of GI pain and no one listened. 16 months ago I was in the ER (10 more days-dead). Still dealing with pain that's worse every day. To All: u may not know or see it but there's a lot of ill people without Opioids -we don't function. Open ur freaking minds Healthcare & all other people. Last, DO NOT CONFUSE "DEPENDENT" With Addicted, (or that my brain is giving false pain signals). This is a comp...

I can't find the ingredients any where on the web and I am having muscle spasms do to car accident but don't want to take any thing that has Tylenol in it. Thank you ## Hello Wheeler! How are you? I'm happy to help you! No, Orphenadrine is the active ingredient, so there is no Tylenol/Acetaminophen in it. It is used as a muscle relaxant to treat the pain and spasms associated with strains, sprains and injuries. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is oxycontin and Percocet the same thing except without the tylenol ## Yeah. It's usually extended release instead of the percocet, which is immediate release. Not all the time but that's what I've seen. ## Hello, Katy! How are you? No, Raine, you are correct, both contain Oxycodone, but Percocet also contains Acetaminophen/Tylenol and Oxycontin just contains Oxycodone in a 12 hour time released formulation. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
