can a 72 year old woman with diabetes take 3 capsules @500 mg Tylenol at one time if total of 8 capsules a day are not exceeded ## Yes, the worst it might do is upset your stomach or make you a little drowsy. Many people have prescriptions for Ibuprofen which range in dosages from 600mgs each tablet and up. I was prescribed this medicine and it says for severe pain, is 5 mg the Lowest amount you can get or is it higher than 7.25? ## It comes in hydrocodone 5mgs, 7.5 mgs and 10 mgs. There is 500 mgs of tylenol in it. The 5 mg is the lowest dose in pill form ## Hydrocodone, which is the generic for Vicoden, is what I was prescribed after Percocet didn't give me much relief. I then was switched to Roxycodone, because I have elevated liver levels in my blood work, and the Tylenol can worsen that. I am now prescribed 30 mgs. of Roxycodone three times a day. How can I maximize the effectiveness of this medication? It does not always work as prescribed but my doctor does not want to change my medication at this time. ## I find that taking a 50mg Tab with a 500 mg Tylenol on an empty stomach works best. Drink lots of water! Eat about two hours after. Works well with a 4mg Tizanidine (muscle relaxer too). Sometimes I split the tab to 25mg w/2 Tylenol as a trade off. He gave you a dosage of 10/500 which means 10mg of hydocodone and 500 mg of actemiphin(tylenol) I just had hip surery a month ago and my surgen gave me that. The color eans different companies make them some put less tylenol in them some have more ifs its a ten its a ten same effect as as 10/325&10/500 the color doesn't matter in tens now the white with red specs is a five mg an white with blue specs is a 7.5 mg that's the only difference ## Thanks for taking a moment to share this information. A lot of patients may not even realize that their generics might contain up to 20 percent less active ingredients than the brand name. However from "brand to brand", are you saying here that different companies could also mean a difference in the percentage of ingredients? I wouldn't be surprised if there actually was, but it would definitely raise a red flag on the topic of quality control if brand names are getting dosage cut...
